- arcooke, on 01/29/2008, -1/+12"Domain Incident
From October 13, 2007, after an incident involving domain renewal, The Pirate Bay had ownership of the ifpi.com domain. [1] The site title was the replacement backronym "International Federation of Pirates Interests." But ownership of the Domain has since been returned."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IFPI#Domain_Incident
This site is probably pulling up records that haven't been updated yet.. that or TPB somehow still has some ties to it. This whole incident was on Digg a while back. - arcooke, on 01/29/2008, -0/+9Just looked it up.. here's an explanation. Even though I know how it works now, I'm still in WTF mode. Never seen anything like that before.

- D15C1PL3, on 01/29/2008, -1/+8They also own http://benjithehunted-make-funny-joke.aljazeera.co ... how weird?
- dinostabOMG, on 01/29/2008, -0/+7What is this "you get signal" anyway? Was that domain name registered during the All Your Base craze?
- NathanielJ, on 01/29/2008, -0/+7I don't think you know what "interesting" means.
- slamtv7, on 01/29/2008, -2/+9Why is www.ifpi.com on the PirateBay Servers?

- Dan1, on 01/29/2008, -0/+6Could be nice for finding hidden/unknown subdomains.
- thailand1972, on 01/29/2008, -1/+7That's normal. Shared hosting can mean you share up to 2000 websites (I've known shared hosting to be that bad). Shared hosting sucks.
- sgtpppr, on 01/29/2008, -0/+6If you look up a site that is on one of the big shared hosting servers, you'd have thousands of sites on a single IP.
- rYno, on 01/29/2008, -1/+7I guess reverse dns is new to a lot of ppl? lol
- jquipp, on 01/29/2008, -1/+6Very useful tool...bookmarked.
- kLacK, on 01/29/2008, -0/+5Cool, no zombie websites on my server!

- frakingcylons, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4I freaking love this website.....did anybody notice the witty reference to all your base are!?!?!
- kirkouimet, on 01/29/2008, -1/+5blizzard.com has some interesting results...
- doctorfungi, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4Epic justice.
- thinkart, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4also nice for finding out who else shares my ip (dreamhost).
i just found out i share a domain with blacknipplelover.com - jonahan52, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4landingstrip.dell.com ... ahh funny webmasters...
- dbr_onix, on 01/29/2008, -1/+5No, someone bought those domains and pointed it at Google's servers. It's more or less like people pointing new domains at 127.0.0.1 till they setup a server or such
- BGog, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4You could be behind a load balancer.
- BlindingDawn, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4Weird.. it found sub-domains that I don't even use. Great Tool
- andyboyd, on 01/29/2008, -0/+4Brillliant find ... most similar services are not free ... except for that MSN Search. ;)
- dualityim, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3Because you have to pay for DomainTools' reverse IP lookup>
- Bikkja, on 01/29/2008, -1/+4nice one:)
- mrhuhk, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3Because your site is hosted on a server with other websites. Unless you have a dedicated or virtual server, your website is sharing resources with other websites.
- flashingcurser, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3Except you have to have an account to get more than 4. Don't you have to pay for privileged accounts?
- TalSiach, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3Dugg! for the great tool!
- scottc, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3The quality of shared web hosting cannot be determined simply by the number of sites hosted on an IP address - there are far too many other factors. A good web server can serve many thousands of simple sites if it's configured properly and the total traffic to the sites is at a reasonable level.
Also, the number of sites on an IP address does not equal the number of sites on a server. Web servers have more than one IP and most have sites on multiple IPs. - Kidane, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3you'll see several hundred sites per IP address on Media Temple but it doesn't matter with the way they do clustering. it's name based hosting anyway, who cares abotu ip addresses?
- mrgulabull, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3You get signal... as opposed to "we get signal" of 'All your base are belong to us' fame?
- Userfaulty, on 01/29/2008, -0/+3 Found 9 domains hosted on the same web server as cia.gov (198.81.129.100).
