Talk about childish hacking - manfesto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A script kiddie is far from a hacker (regardless of how much regard you have for the term), and god knows what the hell a "click" kiddie is. Sounds funny, though.
And their breakdown of a script-kiddie attack comes off like the "sex talk" from your parents. Probably will have the same affect on aspiring script-kiddies reading it, too.
The biggest difference (in my mind) between a script-kiddie and an aspiring hacker is motivation - a script kiddie wants to hack some poor defenseless fool's computer for bragging rights to his buddies in an IRC chatroom, a security hacker has a genuine interest in computer security (and how to bypass it). - chrislewis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just tell them to attack 127.0.0.1
- cr4z3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's funny how they tell you how they do the attack.. that just makes it even easier for new script kiddies to emerge
- thebluestreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1half of the links do not work. pity. they were as close to a reference as you might have gotten on this sort of tripe. the author switches from concern of "child hackers" to botnets about half way through. hard to tell where the real concern is; clueless children or organized gangs of marauding bot-masters. overall, a sensationalistic piece of unsubstantiated and semi-related theories. a good read. i would recommend it to all my friends that like to forward "helpful" emails, as well as to parents that are not already needlessly worried about their children's activities on the Internet.

By far, the best definition!! well articulated!! - TwoDotOh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0In all seriousness, I hate the fact that 90% of my peers that claim to be technological masterminds seem to be comprised of the sort that is described in this article, pretty much to the letter.
- m0laria, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What exactly kind of attacks do these "attack portals" do? Ddos or something? I'm curious, seeing as none of these guys links actually work.
- mbwilliamson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Reminds me of Penny from Inspector Gadget.
- andyzweb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0havent we known this from the beginning
- Meshyf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it just me or is this a free way to waste the youths time and to find and fix holes in the internets?
Doesn't hurt too much does it? - gridpoet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These arnt "script kiddies" !!!
Script kiddies = scum
click kiddies = lower than scum
these fools dont even know what a "script" is...alot of them cant even use common PC tools...get it right! - fr0z3nph03n1x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like how it goes step by step of how to do it and where to get the programs, as if the script kiddes need more help. -_-
- garagefighter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mitnick was a "social engineer" he even admits he's not the best with technology. I think the term you people are looking for is cracking, not hacking. There is a difference.
- JiMiThInG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0/me just shakes head about article.
I really hope that the person who wrote that piece did so with quite a bit of tounge and cheek.. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0By "click" kiddies, they mean skript kiddies, right?
And who is this news to? It may be tech related, but it's more for your mother or your grandmother than it is for us. - amitrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The article is so IRONIC..on one hand they convey the message NOT to hack and at da end of the article, they PROVOKE hacking by giving step-by-step method to HACK...how idiotic?????
- Nanx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0im teh 1337 h4x0r-F34R |/|3!!!

Script-kiddies suck balls. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"In all seriousness, I hate the fact that 90% of my peers that claim to be technological masterminds seem to be comprised of the sort that is described in this article, pretty much to the letter."
Same here...I hate those ***** noobs - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"These arnt "script kiddies" !!!

these fools dont even know what a "script" is...alot of them cant even use common PC tools...get it right!"
Yeh, I think the article tries to say script and click kiddies are dirrerent..
Anyway, meh, the article it fairly badly written.. Heh, and almost all the links have sites that are "Under construction", which is a shame because I wanted to see that attackportals site, after reading a PDF from/about (not sure) that I stumbled upon, which was hysterical.. Ah well
- Ben - Malacoi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0'click' kiddies? Rofl
- brydude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is a joke, no?
- locohozt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old news. The linked site looks old and the links on it are dead.
- matx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its just stupid thats its fasionable to be a hacker. :D
- Buddybot111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ok, um i have no idea how i ended up posting here, sry :/
- battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"The article is so IRONIC..on one hand they convey the message NOT to hack and at da end of the article, they PROVOKE hacking by giving step-by-step method to HACK...how idiotic?????"
Or, how smart? Hmmmm. - bitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ah after reading what at first seemed like a very lame article, it does seem that they used the correct term "click kiddie". In this case no scripts were used for the attack and I'm rather surprised by how easy and little work is needed.
Considering how lame many of us consider script kiddies, it would seem that click kiddies are far worse.
Hey kiddies want to be as lame or more so than your parents, barney and teachers combined? Well now you can, simply by becoming a click kiddie. Takes no real understanding of anything, very little time and effort.
You cannot get much lamer, well unless you start promoting and blathering on about web 2.0 - battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did you actually click on some of the links "provided" in the "article".
I think it is a warning to all Click Kiddies.
Try the very last link in the articel and see if you dont agree with me on this point. - battybattybatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0EDIT feature PLS, Jorgi, anyone?
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Darn you hacking kids, go play a sport. Hacking and ruining someone else's computer should be punishable by death!
- Soulraven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hehe, i remember being 13 year old (born in 1987) and accidentally smashed the mail server of "mm.dk" because i wanted to submit my website to 1mil search engines. They located me at my school, and threaténd to sue me. But luckily they found out i only was 13 years old and had no malicious intend, and dropped sueing me, in exchange for that i came working for them when i was old enough. Never been more red in my face before.
- striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My school kicked me off the computers for "hacking". I ***** used AT&T call relay to call the schools office and ask what lunch was... lol. All the while having the whole student information database on my usb key... i had the data, but didnt abuse it. It's good to know you CAN do something, but its not always right to do it.
- Nick_Circosta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hacking isnt what itwas back in the days of mitnick, now some low life 10 year old can go to some crap site , i think it was www.hackthissite.org... its been on digg, and learn stupid wanna be skiils and then tell his friends what he was up to, The movie HACKERS IMO showed what it was really like back then, oh well things have changed
- Tyler2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with you all. And let me tell you from the inside of these kids mind, I'm still in High School, its said the things they brag about if your really in to computer security its best to learn it on your own. Try telling these people that you can't run MSN messenger on Linux, and latter IE is terrible, along with the entire operating system, a piece of junk. Oh well thats what O'Rilleys books are for. Oh by the way the older teches out there that paved the way, we solute you.
- Tomato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There are very very few true hackers out there... hacking is a philosophy, much more related to engineering these days than the typical "break and entering" concept everybody is familiar with.
- wintermute0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0On one hand, yeah its ironic that the article teaches you how to do it. On the other hand, the article is so old that some of the websites have messages that they expecting to be up and running "As early as March 2005".
- thecoolestcow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I thought this was obvious. That was the whole reason I ever got any firewall software to begin with.
- PAStheLoD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The h4x0r guide at the end of the article doesn't even point to working sites.. most of them are out of order.. and when was this article written? It can be maybe 3 years old :D
- th3dougler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wtf, this is a website for people 50+... am i the only person who has never heard the term 'script kiddie', realizing that i am the upper-class version of one... wierd
- FelixdaaHack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Huummmmmmmmmmmmmm...lets see...$100 MIT computers given away for free + tens of thousands of children in Africa many who hate the US = bad time to be a SysAdmin
- Trader76, on 07/24/2009, -0/+0That is the problem with young hacker, they start out and just cause problems. Untill now www.bluepointsecurity.com
- DeepNarcosis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how hilarious is it that if you try to visit the site using script blocker with firefox that the site doesn't load... take that "click kiddies"
- Niao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Quick workaround:
Disable JavaScript & Active X (should you still be using IE for the sake of your users) and AJAX dies.
Problem solved. - sailor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg...I hate kids too!
