- ferrell, on 09/30/2008, -0/+165AAAAAAA++++++++ SELLER WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! WILL BUY AGAIN!!!!!!!
- SpikeX, on 09/30/2008, -0/+103You really never know what you'll get on eBay...
- PHiZ187, on 09/30/2008, -3/+88According to this link: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/227376/mi6-photos-sold ... after the man reported the sensitive documents, the police descended upon his home, quizzed his family and seized his home computer. Seems like a pretty ***** way to respond when someone comes forward to save your ass. It is sending a message that you shouldn't cooperate with the authorities, because you'll be treated as a suspect and harassed. The UK is such a ***** police state these days.
- kelstock, on 09/30/2008, -1/+66Pity he didn't send the data to wikileaks. I'd like to know what MI6 is up to.
Although that kind of thing might have netted a one way ticket to a secret prison. - Tanktunker, on 09/30/2008, -0/+49E:/top secret/porn
- kelstock, on 09/30/2008, -0/+40Plant a few of these and you've got the potential for an awesome viral marketing campaign.
- jer2eydevil88, on 09/30/2008, -5/+45The only part of this that surprises me is that it wasn't a Homeland Security blunder.
- screenwalker, on 09/30/2008, -1/+33Seems the images were neither shaken, nor stirred.
- muxaulo, on 09/30/2008, -0/+31I wonder if the camera was stolen and then sold on eBay, or sold legitimately by the owner, leaving the memory card in by mistake.
As usual, it demonstrates that the human component of data/info security is the weakest link in the security chain. - divinediva, on 09/30/2008, -1/+30The images which are reported to have been found on the camera is a document, marked “top secret.
- IphtashuFitz, on 09/30/2008, -0/+25He's lucky. If he was in the US he'd likely have been jailed by Homeland Security, labeled a potential terrorist himself, and not get to face a judge for years.
If something like this were to happen to me I'd likely submit the photos to Wikileaks. Let the feds find out that way that their security sucks. - n0xz, on 09/30/2008, -3/+27Watch out .. they'll send over a certain guy named Bond over to recuperate that camera and save the world while destroying all your properties. Send it back to Ebay !!!
- mstrymxer, on 09/30/2008, -0/+12is this the plot line for the UK's version of BURN AFTER READING??????
- stateofmind, on 09/30/2008, -7/+19Awww... someone should send the MI6 a go-kart, poor guys.
- DarkPrincess74, on 09/30/2008, -1/+13M must be furious...

Tell me why (I bid on Shatner's old toupee)
They had it on eBay - HallenbeckJoe, on 09/30/2008, -2/+13"The Sun newspaper reported. "
therefore buried as (probably) inaccurate. - Tanktunker, on 09/30/2008, -0/+10A used ... pink bathrobe
A rare ... mint snowglobe
A Smurf ... TV tray
I bought on eBay - mouthymadness, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9They took his home computer? What kind of ***** does that? I mean what they should have was monitor him while he backed up his data, then they replace his hard drive and they take the old hard drive and physically destroy it.
- X9001, on 09/30/2008, -1/+10How naive
- Bloodburn, on 09/30/2008, -6/+15Should have bought a go-cart.
- netneutrality, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8BBC News link for the doubters: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7643374.stm

- AmyVernon, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8This is so beyond moronic.
- 1hrSleep, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8Damn those freak drowning/spontaneous dismembering. When will they stop?!
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+8At the rate UK government departments lose/leave behind sensitive information there'd be no one left to do the work.
- ventralnet, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8When I saw the name 'Abdul al-Hadi al-Iraqi' I had to double check that I wasn't looking at an onion article lol
- Incidents, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8eBay kitten - NOT AS DESCRIBED.
- psykiv, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6Note to self: next time don't say anything.
- 2ktj, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6MMmmm...turkey
- feureau, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6Life is like ordering from eBay. You never know what you're gonna get.
I once ordered an office furniture and got a bobcat shipped to me instead. - ventralnet, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6there is an "onion comment" now?
- HallenbeckJoe, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6also "the Sun" as source!
- StephenCIreland, on 09/30/2008, -1/+6isnt turkey trying to get into the EU ?
- RoyaleCheese, on 09/30/2008, -0/+5"Hello! Anyone lose their secret MI6 *****? I don't think so."
- jester55, on 09/30/2008, -0/+5What was the name of the account that sold it?
- SkippyDoorknob, on 09/30/2008, -1/+6And don't push the manual focus button! That fires a laser beam.
- davidg11, on 09/30/2008, -0/+5Q is going to get fired for this.

- diggenerate, on 09/30/2008, -5/+9this whole go cart thing is stupid, let's not make another meme out of it.
- bacchante, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4They raided his house later. If anyone finds something like this again, I can't see why they would ever turn it in knowing how this turned out.
- sockpuppets, on 09/30/2008, -1/+5You know you'll get ripped off at some point.
- gmacnay, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4Damage control to ensure that he's not shared it with the world.
- inactive, on 09/30/2008, -2/+6Ah, I think we've located the one guy that actually went to see that movie.
- jkleinrichert, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4Did you happen to read the bit where they replaced "the seized equipment"?
Yea, it sucks, but it I were a "secret agent" I wouldn't want my ass at risk because some one leaked out pics.
Granted, yes, the camera shouldn't have ended up on ebay, but obviously it did...but I wouldn't want to die because of it. - 1hrSleep, on 09/30/2008, -4/+8Hahahahahaha.... Oh, man... I can't believe you actually thought Britain, of all people, still respected human rights.
That is so funny! That was adorable. =) Oh, Tanktunker. What will you say next? - ploofka, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4I always wondered if there was some underground trading going down on eBay. Used flash drives and hard drives being traded with a secret code in the auction.
- dmva83, on 09/30/2008, -1/+5If it was the owner who sold it with the memory card still in it.. then said "person" has already been "dealt" with, i.e., accidental drowning followed by accidentally being cut up and tossed out as shark bait.
- darkhero, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4I would have made copies and sent it to wikileaks.
