- purplesawdust, on 03/11/2009, -2/+274Hackers are getting smart so instead of my password being "password" it is now "password1"
- danwgre, on 03/12/2009, -0/+222True Story
I recently had a conversation with my mom about passwords and she told me that she had a different password for every website because she didn't think it was possible to use the same password twice on the internet. I didn't really believe her and asked her how she kept track of them... she proceeded to pulled out a spiral notebook and there were several pages of website site names and passwords.... it blew my f-ing mind. - CoD4, on 03/12/2009, -14/+169link to bash next time
- paulieslim, on 03/12/2009, -1/+136I smash my face into the keyboard and generate my password: xey67uuyjh
- Syntaxis, on 03/12/2009, -2/+120Tip of the day:
Get 2 passwords that are individually hard to remember, mixed case, have a number or two. Then your 3rd password could be a combination of the first two passwords.
I use 2 passwords, each having 4 letters, 2 numbers and 2 random signs like an @-sign, of a #-sign, et cetera. These two combined make for a 16 character password that only you can remember. And it'll look impressive when you use that to logon to whatever you login to when colleagues are watching.
"Did you just type a password that was like 16 characters long?"
"Yes. Yes I did."
"You are AWESOME!"
Your boss will promote you for being such a smart person, capable of remembering something very complex, and also being so very secure with your trivial applications. He will feel certain that his company is in good hands with you. You will be a millionaire in just a few weeks! - HotSaucePanCake, on 03/12/2009, -5/+110consider this: 68.52% of all statistics are made up on the spot

All other passwords (bank account for instance) are random genarated keys, - sockpuppets, on 03/12/2009, -2/+93My password is bacon.

- 4321234, on 03/12/2009, -0/+84Just use eight asterisks as your password. That way, if a hakcor has password cracking software, he'll think it's not working.

No, definitely $hhS689wjhWy65G2hv2ie7^huyGf6y6DSoy8
I'll get back to you on that... - Regulator980, on 03/12/2009, -1/+49I know he's lying, because after reviewing his comments I noticed the same trend in every single one. He never capitalizes anything, however, his comment did make me smirk when I thought it was real.

And of that 19 percent I'd say 80% are lying. Anyone interested in IT security that hasn't read "The Six Dumbest Ideas in Computer Security" really ought to. - sgentry6, on 03/12/2009, -1/+34Facepalm of the day:
1) I steal your e-mail account password.
2) I use the "forgot my password" links on almost any web site.
3) I now will almost certainly have access to your super duper secure accounts because you used the same security questions everywhere.
Just my 2 cents. You need a really secure password for your e-mail account. It's like the golden key. I get that one and I can generally get a lot more access than what you think I can reach. Also don't reuse security questions / answers. - PrismoFillusion, on 03/12/2009, -0/+31Bosco
- miggyb, on 03/12/2009, -0/+30I do that for those ridiculous "security questions." I really have an urge to start typing in gibberish for those questions so nobody else can hack my email account like they did to Palin.
"What is your father's middle name?"
-n4jbnfF#@dom#!??øangstrom - ken830, on 03/12/2009, -1/+31You're a liar... I just tried to log-in as you and it didn't work...
- Jimu00, on 03/12/2009, -0/+29I can't find the 3nd character.
- tagtomlin, on 03/12/2009, -0/+26There is a very easy way of having a series of different passwords for any sites which you can also remember.
Take a base password like a car registration number. And then incorporate something like the 3nd character from the website address in the password.
e.g. XYZ123A - for google.com becomes XYZO23A, yahoo.com becomes XYH123A etc etc.
You can make it much more complex but more importantly you then have a series of different passwords (some will be the same) and you can always remember them, and someone getting one password is unlikely to guess the rest. - jordan314, on 03/12/2009, -0/+26Mmm, I would make your email password secure, since you can reset a number of your other accounts' passwords with it (such as bank accounts).
- Zaeboes, on 03/12/2009, -2/+28You have an oddly shaped face.
- ultrafez, on 03/12/2009, -0/+24Dugg for ø. Trying typing THAT outside of Scandanavia.

- inactive, on 03/12/2009, -13/+34I never use a password. I don't need to, because I smoke marijuana.
- itseffinkasey, on 03/12/2009, -0/+21That is exactly what I do.
