- leszek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+69It is a code but i decrypted it !
If you take 959595 and turn it 180° , you obtain S6S6S6.
S6S6S6 can be separated in 666 and SSS.
666 is of course the mark of the beast and it means digg is now to the service of the devil !
i didn't know what SSS was until i googled it.
the first link is the following: http://www.sss.gov
It is the website of "an independent federal agency operating with permanent authorization under the Military Selective Service Act. It exists to serve the emergency manpower needs of the Military by conscripting untrained manpower, if directed by Congress and the President in a national crisis."
So the reason of this number is obvious, it is the proof digg is now under the power of the us army !
They are probably using digg to diffuse subliminal messages to force digg users to join the us army forces.
I am sure it is the fault of Bush. - cappslite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+409 + 5 + 9 + 5 + 9 + 5 = 42
There should be no further questions. - g4blows, on 10/12/2007, -3/+42yvan eht nioj
- iFelix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33Perhaps the number has to be entered into the Digg server every 108 minutes.
- ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32It is the amount of debt Kevin is in.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19maybe it's the amount of ***** blogs that get posted everyday with 2 paragraphs of text and no real news....
- leszek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10@johnM5
easy, it is DIGG spelled with scientific constants. - LegendarySock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I understand completely.
- gwjc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9"What does that number mean? Is that how many stories have been submitted to digg. I think that is the most likely answer. "
Many stories have been submitted since this story was posted and yet the number still says 959595 - So that doesn't seem likely. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5well now we may never know, because this story mysteriously vanished from the front page
.....or buried (but it doesn't say buried) - TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4that stands for DIGG (the numbers represent scientific constants), it was on the front page a while ago ;-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thread over he's got it.
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3methcat wtf is wrong with you, you're trolling a bunch of stories
gtfo - pluto9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this is probably for some monitoring script to make sure that the site is up and is responding with something static.
- ingenious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Perhaps it means "9 to 5, 9 to 5, 9 to 5".. Digg staff was probably going through some long tedious work days to get 3.0 out the door.
- halosniper7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@meth
you watched the human-stupid-video thing just now, didnt you? - vvaduva, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7Obviously digg got it wrong...the numbers should be:
4 8 15 16 23 42 - Lane5slacker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Whoa, that site abuses the whole "glossy button" gimmick.
- JohnM5, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Yea and at the end it says
digg is done serving you. 2.01355321270u 137.03599911 6.6742x10-11m3kg-1s-2 6.6742x10-11m3kg-1s-2

thank you. - Forgotten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1aye, there be nowhere to hide.
soon they'll start brainwashing on del.icio.us too - Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If it works, it's not bad.
If someone criticizes it, then it's great. - npdcrazypyro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Scroll down almost to the bottom of the page source. It says:
digg is done serving you. 2.01355321270u 137.03599911 6.6742x10-11m3kg-1s-2 6.6742x10-11m3kg-1s-2
( i dont know if those numbers change or not.) - Chaos12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Blank!
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yeah, it's been there at least since the launch of digg 3.0
I've always wondered this myself - leszek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1they are not changing. It is some scientific constants spelling DIGG.
http://digg.com/programming/Digg_is_done_serving_you._DI(a_)GG._(Easter_egg_in_digg). - daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2If a site is making money you don't bring in VC's and sell them large portions of your company in exchange for a little cash.
- Daiken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Tsk tsk, magic numbers = bad programming.
- Lutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1mystery solved
- apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+142 = life? So
= server is running... - retral, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It's amazing how many "explanations" people are going to come up with for this.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wow I sure didn't see that coming...
/Sarcasm off - lunchbox170, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1absolutely note, its a comment, ya dip
- cheerfulstoic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Doesn't seem that mysterious to me. It's probably a message that was put in for debugging purposes that can be found easily (either by scanning with your eye or the 'ol CMD-F). "Digg it up" probably just means that all the servers involved are responding correctly.
- tomboy501, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2web page color code?: http://www.google.com/search?q=959595&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N
I'm a terrible tech noob, though...so I have no idea. - leszek, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4bury this
- ClayDragon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Me too.
- lunchbox170, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4You think kevin is in debt?
I always thought digg made him money - Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Perhaps it's the number of idiots using digg!
