- Berkay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13This is amazing. It has the potential to change the discussion. I can see using this to insert comments on any document.
- wolfzero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I think this is great, but I'm not sure how useful this actually is. It's more suited to academic discussions or wikis than blog posts. Imagine Wikipedia with some sort of "block" comment system.
- white, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8this would be good for recipes and tutorials
- jackslocum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Flanker, yes search engine indexing still works.
jalenack - on a normal post, not one spefically for testing the comments, I don't think it will look quite so chaotic. Since everyone is trying to find a brand new spot to put a comment, there are yellow tags everywhere, lol.
wolfzero - if you look at the rest of my blog, you will notice most of my blog entries are loaded with code examples. This block level commenting allows people to post questions/comments about specific blocks of code. So for my blog it should be very useful! - jalenack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Kinda cool, but very chaotic. All the little numbers are distracting.
- isemism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Very nice work, jackslocum
- ironylives, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Elegant, indeed. I anxiously await the set of detailed instructions. :-)
- DutchStoner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This is something special!
- anoopkumar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Fantastic... Call me a n00b, or digg me down - but I seriously never thought web 2.0 would be this enchanting. This beats many thick clients I have designed or even seen. Hats off Yahoo developers (Google for gmail / maps and... and....)
- smartssa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I agree 100%. Far more useful for wiki discussions (replacing the stupid 'talk' pages that they all use). As far as usability in a blog goes, it's kind of awkward. But hey, it's still neat!
- jackslocum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I responded below. While you are right about some blogs, I think a lot of blogs like mine would find this useful.
- Flanker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah this is pretty amazing. I wonder if search engines can still index the comments, though. I hope so. Often my google searches turn up pretty useful information in the comments of someone's blog.
- Blabster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Where can I download it? lol :)
- kasted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So there is a comment for each line or paragraph of text?
- CaughtThinking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I saw 293 comments on one of my favorite blogs and I knew instantly it had been dugg ;).
I've been using Yahoos API too recently and it's an amazing piece of code. There are some bugs here and there, but in a very short time (a week or so?) I've been able to construct cross browser widgetry magic that I never though pure HTML and Javascript would be able to produce. I suggest you all invest some time in it. I can see it leaving behind other Javascript frameworks. - MichaelGoldman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Truly amazing!
that thing rocks - rhyno2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm still deeply infatuated with jQuery, but this demo is pretty. freaking. cool.
- cpoteet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would agree that this wouldn't be the bets fit for most blog entries, but it is really cool!
- iankennedy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0totally cool - almost made me jump out of my seat with a visible "whoa!!"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting..
The only problem is in IE it is constantly downloading additional items. 800 items dowloading ! What is going on? - isemism, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bring Wikipedia out of Web 1.9 and into 2.0 (beta eternally)?
That is a great idea, Wiki could use a facelift anyway :) - cds0528, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Whoa this is cool, don't understand why it doesn't have more diggs.
@thespamburger- don't use IE, problem solved (and many other more important problems solved too)

What is Digg?
