- ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17hi, I've actually done most of my testing in firefox 1.5 - are you using any ad blocking extensions in FireFox - it might be interacting poorly with those. If you send me an email at webmaster@quickref.org we can try and resolve this issue. Thanks.
- ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12payrok - C++ is next on my list - and I'll probably have it up by tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words!
- jackslocum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"Internal Error : invalid flag after regular expression on FireFox 1.5" and "Syntax Error" in IE7.
- ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9payrok - no need to wait until tomorrow. I was able to get C++ and C functions on there just now. I appreciate the feedback - please email me at webmaster@quickref.org if you have any more suggestions.
- crombenevolant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Very cool site!
Any plans for python docs? - adougherty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Very cool site. I really like how it can remember your searches. I don't know how many times I've searched google repeatedly for the same documentation.
- aptiva, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7once you go http://gotapi.com you never go back..
- payrok, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8The site is wonderfully designed, and looks as if it will be very useful to me in the future. But as a "programmers reference" I was hoping it would include references for C/++, and other "true" programming languages.
I guess it may still come to the site, but it let me down for the moment. - sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Google can remember your searches too.
- Jamminn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8http://www.krugle.com/
- blinkfink182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Absolutely wonderful! Doing a lot of programming in Java, C++, HTML, PHP, SQL, this helps me a ton. Great tool. If I could digg more than once, you'd have it.
- Mojave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Might be interesting if it worked.
- rclay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I get "[Line #1] Error Loading Script" using firefox 1.5.
- javaexe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Same as jackslocum Invalid flag error in Firefox 1.5.0.6 and Syntax Error in IE6
- reddit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hmm.. couldn't get it to work...
IE6 & 7:
"Internal Error: syntax error"
Firefox 2.0 Beta 2:
"Internal Error: invalid flag after regular expression" - Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8It would take me a whole day to correct the errors in this statement.
- ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7jbarnett: I'm not having the same problems you are (in IE or FireFox) - however I'm willing to try and track them down. Can you email me (webmaster@quickref.org): and tell me what browser versions you are using and what OS you are on? I'd love to fix this so it works for you too.
Thanks,
Robby - ThinkFr33ly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5So it's basically MSDN, but for everything non-Microsoft?
- nickbark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'd like to use it but I got
Internal Error : invalid flag after regular expression
Will check back tomorrow. - KWhat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Fantastic, next milestone... new interface.
- evoleto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Very nice site, will definitely use in practice when needed!
As about the autocomplete, I suggest you to assign the text input a random name and id each time (and in relation with something so you can identify it). This way, browsers will be clueless about it's possible values.
Good luck! - ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4definitely. Are there any additional python libraries you'd like to see added too? Please email me: webmaster@quickref.org
- isilex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ajax script calling this URL http://www.quickref.org/match.php?q=... which returns the following mySQL error:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /var/www/vhosts/quickref.org/httpdocs/match.php on line 4
Could not connect: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)
That's why you are getting the alert message. - fu86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That thing doesn't work here ... (Linux with Firefox 1.5)
Every time i type something, a Javascript-Box pops up and shows me that there is a "Internal Error".
I love http://www.gotapi.com/ which fits for me very well. - ruprecht, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Crashed first time I used it. gotapi.com is way better.
- LordLucless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ditto.
- da404lewzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://www.coderwiki.com/wiki/
- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They just need to add:
autocomplete="off" to the input box - Dangerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Tried to look up "variable variables php", no dice.
"abstract" wow, look at all the Java : (
"abstract php" no dice.
"abstract ruby" nada.
"instanceof" wow, look at all the Java.
"instanceof php" no dice.
"outer join" nothing.
"temporary table" nope.
"select into" null.
This is great for looking up Java docs. Wish I had any use for that. - gmillerd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4too much importance was spent on adsense and bling and when he should have dont usability first. this looks like a korean-pirate-dvd website on my screen, totally unusable with adblocking. that google popup iframe is a terrible joke.
- tosusan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Well the other 99.4% of us might get something out of it, sport.
- clickr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3jbarnet is right..try what he says. the page gets all confused. FF 1.5.0.6, FC3.
- ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4jbarnett: that's the same setup as me - hmmm - can you email me at webmaster@quickref.org - I'd like to figure out why it doesn't work for you. Do you have Norton Internet Security or similar software? That could be related.
- cgseller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I get Internal Parse Error (MacOS X 10.4 w/ Safari)
Nice idea - but make sure it's working first ;) - folding12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Investigate a way to turn off the browser's autocomplete. I'm getting the two dropdowns jockeying for screen space.
- Monopole, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Doesn't support Python. Is therefore a tool of the devil. Must be destroyed.
- seanmc303, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It would be nice if you could specify languages to omit from the results. For example, I don't care about seeing Pearl or Java results, I do want to see the others. All they need to do is use a cookie variable to keep track of user customized searches.
- Jamminn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dugg down for suggesting a, imo, miles bloody better code search engine that even has assembler?
- yell0wduck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm also getting the "Internal Error : invalid flag after regular expression" error on Firefox 1.5.0.6.
Seems like a great idea... I'll check back later. - csrster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Could be very useful. Take note of all the constructive suggestions above and ignore the whiners. The ability to filter by language would be very good, especially if you're planning on adding more and more languages ...
- astatine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Getting that last one with FF1.5.0.6, too
- maseone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this reminds me of that one site i use for documentation, what is it again?........
oh yeah, google.
heh. - ninesquaredis81, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2thanks for notifying me - I'll try to resolve this asap.
- SakuyasLove, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like this format alot better. Not to mention I am getting nothing but errors from quickref.
- phill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why Flash? There is a lot of new stuff to use. SVG is very interesting.
I think that the reason most programmers are not using Flash is because it's slow compared to AJAX/SVG/HTML/CSS/Javascript. - jamsea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm getting huge error pop ups using Opera everytime I type a letter...
- gazoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice attempt and I understand the grand vision, but I think it falls short because of two things: 1. AJAX makes it unstable and laggy. 2. A windows CHM help file is faster and better overall. So being a windows user, I have better alternatives. I don't know about you Linux guys.
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have two options then.
Uninstall all the extensions, or
Upgrade to Opera. -
