- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I'm pretty sure your comment wouldn't have been buried to death if you just left out the word "mac".
- jonnyeh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Have you tried rapidsvn?
- Grimboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4RapidSvn is a nice simple gui, I wish I could get something that would integrate with nautilus in the same way that TSVN integrates with explorer.
- livewirelp, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10I like SvnX for OSX.
http://www.lachoseinteractive.net/en/community/subversion/svnx/features/ - bitman666, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9I've always used the 'latest build' of TSVN which has used Subversion 1.4 libraries for some time now, the problem being that the Working Catalogs are from then on 'off limits' to the Subversion 1.3 command line suite as the WC format changed, and there was no Windows binary available, till now that is. What do you Mac users use for a Gui client? There must be one.
- mratzloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3On OS X, you're right. On Windows, TortoiseSVN is superior to the command line for one reason: the icon overlays. You can instantly see the status of multiple projects at a glance.
- twistymcgee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thanks for the clarification but I don't think anyone wasn't already aware of that.
- cazabam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have tried rapidsvn, and found it incredibly unintuitive. It also seemed to be largely incomplete last I tried it (a few months ago now). I'll try it again, it's worth a shot!
- ToeCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Tortoise is very nice and too bad the Mac doesn't have something like it. Funny thing is that most of my Mac Users need to use SVN and they are designers who freak out at the sight of a terminal window. There is SVNX but please it can't compare to Tortoise.
- shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9cmon guys, do you have to bring mac up at every opportunity?
- smashcasi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Although I haven't tried it myself for a TortoiseSVN alternative on Mac there's http://scplugin.tigris.org/
- Archon810, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@mratzloff, that is exactly the point I wanted to bring up as well. The icons are priceless. Otherwise, I use SmartSVN ( http://www.syntevo.com/smartsvn/index.jsp ), which is written in Java and is quite nice.
- BobbyOnions, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4SubVersion != TortoiseSVN
- jdong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2grr, working trees aren't compatible with older format. Oh well, if it's faster than I won't complain too much :)
- mratzloff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Scplugin is buggy and awful, and it hasn't been updated in nearly two years.
- geezusfreeek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm kind of surprised how many people are talking about GUIs for SVN considering that there is not a single GUI out there that compares to simply using the command line tools. None are as flexible and none are as quick to use. What is the appeal of clumsy GUI interfaces for SVN, anyway?
- escrafford, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ZigVersion is an easy to use subversion client for OS X.
http://zigzig.com/ - richmastaplus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1In other news.... CVS died deader...
- mratzloff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0 (dupe due to buggy digg comment system)
- twistymcgee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Bury this.
- cazabam, on 10/12/2007, -10/+7Seems the 'bury-fairies' have been out doing their work. What part of this thread isn't relevant to the topic?
Anyway, I agree on SvnX, it's a fine client. I just wish it were available for Windows. I really don't get on with Tortoise at all, and usually find myself reverting to cygwin and the command line client. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2@livewirelp
I like panda bears.
http://www.worldkids.net/eac/panda.html - jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1awesome!
- casted, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Jeez, 2 SVN frontpage articles in one day. Pretty impressive.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4its all about TextMate[maccromates.com] svn support. i dont know how i worked any other way.
- keesj, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Mac
- zigamorph, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4I just hope SourceForge is quick to respond
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Damn. Not SubSeven? When are they going to release another subseven? ;) [/old school kiddie days]
- haackers, on 10/12/2007, -24/+9Tortoise is nice, but its all about using Subversion with mac using command line
