- BadHeatherNo, on 05/30/2008, -4/+162Whatever happened to people actually THINKING about things?
- KingWilson, on 05/30/2008, -6/+123wtf
ʍʇɟ - rocketboot, on 05/31/2008, -4/+97Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog.
- Ultage, on 05/30/2008, -6/+97This sort of bureaucracy is what makes our country and lives so great...
- idavidtang, on 05/31/2008, -6/+94boob
- geoken, on 05/31/2008, -4/+92It's the current state of companies. They force every worker to abide by the most ridiculous, redundant, bureaucratic processes. This way no employee is ever in a position to make a judgment call, and by extension the need to actually hire competent people is removed.
This opens the door to hiring cheaper, less skilled people. - TobiasParker, on 05/31/2008, -5/+9012321
- Dotcommer, on 05/31/2008, -5/+87I don't know... what about this theory. She may actually realize how stupid it is, but maybe she MUST call because its being monitored or recorded for records of confirmations? More of a legal thing than a common sense thing I bet. Because somewhere down the line you never know when court might show up, and wouldn't it be nice to have that one recording as evidence instead of "oh, he said such and such to me".
Thats just my thought. But if i'm wrong, then yeah, definitely wtf. - subsistenc3, on 05/31/2008, -4/+65Ron, I'm a minor.
- RedneckRandy, on 05/31/2008, -7/+65This is too retarded to be real
- jbassfretless, on 05/30/2008, -14/+71Or, Supercalifragilisticexpiealadoshuas? Not sure I understand the game here.
- Shootfast, on 05/31/2008, -4/+58Mr owl ate my metal worm!
- Patrickdnj, on 05/31/2008, -4/+54My head asploded
- DeviateSeptum, on 05/31/2008, -12/+62Sounds made up.
- AceGibson, on 05/31/2008, -1/+50My guess is that she's not the problem, her boss is. I bet she had her a$$ chewed a couple of times by some pencil pushing middle management type and finally gave up on the common sense approach.
- EllimistX, on 05/31/2008, -2/+51Hermione?
- campo, on 05/30/2008, -1/+47i'm gonna need to see that on company letterhead to believe it
- AmICoolNow, on 05/31/2008, -4/+50This ENTIRE thing is the same backwards and forwards.
"Dammit I'm mad.
Evil is a deed as I live.
God, am I reviled? I rise, my bed on a sun, I melt.
To be not one man emanating is sad. I piss.
Alas, it is so late. Who stops to help?
Man, it is hot. I'm in it. I tell.
I am not a devil. I level "Mad Dog".
Ah, say burning is, as a deified gulp,
In my halo of a mired rum tin.
I erase many men. Oh, to be man, a sin.
Is evil in a clam? In a trap?
No. It is open. On it I was stuck.
Rats peed on hope. Elsewhere dips a web.
Be still if I fill its ebb.
Ew, a spider… eh?
We sleep. Oh no!
Deep, stark cuts saw it in one position.
Part animal, can I live? Sin is a name.
Both, one… my names are in it.
Murder? I'm a fool.
A hymn I plug, deified as a sign in ruby ash,
A Goddam level I lived at.
On mail let it in. I'm it.
Oh, sit in ample hot spots. Oh wet!
A loss it is alas (sip). I'd assign it a name.
Name not one bottle minus an ode by me:
"Sir, I deliver. I'm a dog"
Evil is a deed as I live.
Dammit I'm mad."
-Demetri Martin - Ockniel, on 05/30/2008, -3/+46Yes, those are some of the words in this story.
- ByteGuerilla, on 05/31/2008, -2/+42I'm glad someone's keeping track of these things.
- dubloe7, on 05/31/2008, -2/+41it can't be Hermione, she's no longer a minor as of april 15th.
- MacEnvy, on 05/31/2008, -2/+41From what I've seen, this kind of draconian bureaucracy IS part of the Human Resources job. It's stupid I know, but the rules are the rules with these people, even when it's monumentally dumb.
- IphtashuFitz, on 05/31/2008, -10/+48Thank you for calling Initech, just a moment.
Thank you for calling Initech, just a moment.

Thank you for calling Initech, just a moment. - sarixe, on 05/31/2008, -5/+42you are so cool. one day, i hope to be as cool as you.
- Crossmenjeff, on 05/31/2008, -5/+41she's not stupid. if she didn't follow the process and you did something stupid, she'd get fired. so even if it seems retarded she had to document that an actual call was placed. just because you've been free of legal action for a while because of your self employment, you can't just dismiss the steps taken to cover a companies behind as wtfish
- proliance, on 05/31/2008, -3/+38And he wants to work there?
- inactive, on 05/31/2008, -1/+32So where does the deja vu come in?
- RoccoMcTaco, on 05/31/2008, -6/+37um, George Bush.
- Dumbledorito, on 05/31/2008, -1/+30Sadly, I'd lay even odds on her being an idiot versus her manager checking phone logs instead of doing actual work... or both.
- DylanClements, on 05/31/2008, -2/+31dugg down for actually taking the time to write why you dugg that down
- Darkyuubi, on 05/31/2008, -1/+30ITS PROTOCOL! MUST FOLLOW PROTOCOL!
- pauleric, on 05/31/2008, -2/+30Don't blame the secretary. It's easier to just do it than to trust to the possibility of your boss having common sense.
- allisonaxe, on 05/31/2008, -3/+30HOLY CRAP!!!
- aquadoctorbob, on 05/31/2008, -2/+25Corporate Accounts Payable, Nina speaking. JUST a moment.

...damn, that was a waste. - Acglaphotis, on 05/31/2008, -4/+27I shat bricks.
- inactive, on 05/31/2008, -3/+25Hey that's web 2.0 glass effect!
- Thuktun, on 05/30/2008, -3/+24This is not an American invention. The Chinese had a thriving, complex bureaucracy while Europe was still wallowing in the Dark Ages.
- ligyron, on 05/31/2008, -3/+23She was clearly flirting with him. This guy is just too much of a nerd to realize that
- buckrogers1965, on 05/31/2008, -4/+24sauhsodalaeipxecitsiligarfilacrepus?
- Pinkertinkle, on 05/31/2008, -1/+20Yup classic bureaucratic nightmare. The protocol is written down in the little book she has, and thats exactly how she's going to do it. God help you if something you want isn't written down in that book, cause it ain't ever going to happen.
- drhamr, on 05/31/2008, -6/+25was she hot?
