- SilverRocket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The second one mentioned @ web pasties ( http://www.webpasties.com/xmlHttpRequest/ ) is a GREAT tutorial. Everybody should know how to write their own AJAX-imifying script before jumping into using prototype.js and related libraries.... and this tutorial is solid
- cathode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ohh nice, See it in extra-large print for the geezers too.
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wish file upload meters were easier to do in PHP. That is probably the biggest downside. :(
- shadedream, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Digg is about what the users are interested. If people digg it, it will likely stick around. If you arent interested, dont open the article, dont comment :p
- amoeba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There's some great info out there on AJAX. I just experimented and made a simple system that given a postcode returns an address.
Of course, you can see alot of AJAX design apparent on digg.com and through gmail.
I think AJAX adds a significant smoothness to the web experience and will certainly be an important part of web design from now and well into the future. - rgranados, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow, he's got some massive fonts on that page.
- kyndig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Excellent. I'd really like to see an 'ajax source code repository' category at sites such as HotScripts.
- stokestack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3OK, people, NO DIGG just for the title on this page. I was going to let the nauseating "Digg this!" link go, but check out the SEO-suck-up title of this page:

- buss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I totally agree. I only roll my own. The only benefit that the pre-built libraries have are the slick effects like drag and drop, etc. The basics of AJAX don't require a 30K javascript file (prototype, I'm talking to you!)

http://claimid.com/buss/ - spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This was on front page a few days ago, but hey - as I said before - it works nice, especially the lightbox - check it out on my site here (http://www.kevin-foster.net/blog/index.php?blog=2&title=testing&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1) - really cool effects; and for once, I found AJAX to work in a blog (instead of having popups :))
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Nice have been waiting for something like that tahnks
- stokestack, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3A note about something found on this page: It's "client/server", not "client-server." Just as it's "win/win" not "win-win." The slash implies two different sides or choices; a hyphen combines two things into one.
- gluon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I'm glad to see that AJAX related articles are finally starting to make it to the front page. :)
- pickatutorial, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A nice collection of Ajax is also available at
http://www.pickatutorial.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1When you dont have something new to offer, create a set of links to people who do.
No Digg. No content here. It's the internet equivalent of a clip show. - teckey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yes, Look at this site on digg, http://www.digg.com/technology/Web2Reference.com,_a_reference_site_for_Web_2.0_ .
Its build using AJAX. Looks Slick, - andyboy169, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have just come across this url which offers free AJAX video tutorials http://www.computer-training-software.com/ajax.htm
- openview, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Max has a great hub. He didn't find this one though - http://digg.com/software/Image_is_everything,_AJAX_speaking
- fillup07, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Nice summary/compilation
- mixd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Wow! Another article about AJAX! Seriously... I don't think 90% of the people who digg these articles even know the difference between DHTML and AJAX. If they did, they'd stop digging them.
- jasonmcaffee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0While I too am a fan of the smooth feeling AJAX brings to the user experience, I feel that it is an intermediary solution that will soon be replaced by something more robust (maybe flex 2.0? http://labs.macromedia.com/flexproductline/ ). I am a developer and my experience with AJAX has been one of frustration due to the large amount of custom code that is needed to create an AJAX enterprise application. Granted, there are API's currently available (such as AMP for java) that make coding an AJAX site a little less cumbersome, I still feel that AJAX is too weak of a tie between the UI and the underlying web app. Or am I missing something?
- GeniusCube, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1OMG AJAX! Front page it quick....Am I the only one bored of ajax tutorials...zzzZZZzzz
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6This is cool. I like AJAX.
check out this too.
http://digg.com/technology/AJAX_Image_Tag_Cloud - Chongo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1so now that I installed Ruby on Rails I don't even really need to use this do i?
- ojk007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0ever heard of flex? o'course you haven't
check labs.macromedia.com - boohiss, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Cool, my first front-paged digg.
- KillerJ59J, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Hmm... I guess I'll look into learning AJAX. Seems you people haven't talked about it enough. *roll eyes to last part*
- diafel, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Can we go a day without a link to some ajax thing? I swear part of the digg algorithm gives preference to Ajax stories.

What is Digg?
