e.g just type "php.net/substr" in browser location bar and press enter ... or in FF create new bookmark, assign php keyword and put "http://php.net/%s" as URL and click ok ... now just type "php substr" in location bar ... - panic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very nice tool, but I personally won't be replacing good ol' http://php.net/. Still, +DIGG
- MrNate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Much like the CF QuickDocs for coldfusion: http://www.techfeed.net/cfQuickDocs/
- jarod42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It'd be cool if it somehow showed the sections the links were in.
I can't tell you how many times I've been like "I know this function, but that's not exactly what I want. I just can't remember what it is..." and gone to look at, like, the Arrays section. - Beanlover, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First/Another step towards an AJAX PHP IDE?
- illynova, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now if only php.net can add this functionality we'll be all set.
PHP Suggest, anyone? - matsiescruff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0now this is really useful. i like it.
- quasimystery, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its a bit more forgiving than PHP Suggest, you can type in the middle of the function as well and you can miss out underscores.
- senzafine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a good proof of concept. But this should be built into an ide if you want code completion. Alot of php ides even have integrated help that open the man page.
Also, remember you can always do php.net/function_name and it'll take you right to the man page.
(no digg - too similar to other ajax auto complete demos) - etblomquist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice.
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very sweet.
- farfromrest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like it, but i use Zend at work and it does the same thing.
- olegk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful. I wish somebody makes a good open-source IDE with that kind of functionality.
- tacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First usefull AJAX application of 2006. Thanks alot.
- _jinx_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First/Another step towards an AJAX PHP IDE?
Not sure, the goal for Web Dev's should really be to standardize AJAX and get the Base Object Model down for it, also a clean approach to the issues! - darwin2kx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Entirely useful. This tool kicks.. Excellent spot!
- kelyar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just another useless ajax sample
nothing can beat php.net ) - tempusrob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cute, but my IDE does that as I type.
- wbailey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How is this useful? I still have to go to php.net to get the real information. Once again, just another useless AJAX application.
- buckaroo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome. A bonus would be tab completion to cycle through the possibilities.
- stevoie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the idea is that if you only remember a part of the function name then the page will display all the closest matches. you can't do that with website: php.net/PartialFunctionName.
plus its handy when u're not using a IDE to write the PHP code. - brummm, on 03/08/2008, -0/+0FREE AJAX Whois lookup Script
The below DIGG link is my AJAX Whois with Google Suggest tool . Contact me via the contact form on the website and i will email you the script for free. I normal charge $22. I'll send it to all you diggers out there for free.
http://digg.com/programming/Look_up_Domain_names_e ... - andreizilla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How is this usefull? I still think using http://php.net/function_name is more usefull. The PHP site also searches for functions if it can't find the one tou're looking for.
- infectedRoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow. totally useless and hard to get the info you really need.
going to php.net/whateverthefunctionnameormoduleis is much easier.... and better. - stevoie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0actually i'm talking out my ass!! the website does offer suggested matches
- xile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wonderfully fast!
- drewjoh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I type in "date" and it gives me a bunch of functions, but no date()
- bazilio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0useless. i prefer php.net/whatever
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I did this a long ass time ago. Lame.
- _jinx_, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@MrNate:
Not to bash you at all, but Coldfusion could possibly be one of the worst Server Side Scripting Langauges Created. So any tool, ide, application made for it is a complete waste of time in my eyes!
