- rhyno2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Not 30 seconds, not really a "tutorial", and doesn't really "explain" AJAX. More like the hello world intro...
- voltage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/72645/200.jpg
:) - TokenUser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No scrubbing bubbles?
- iChainsaw, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1oh wait, i fixed it. i recommend to anyone who is just copying and pasting: remove the "..." and comment over / do something /. damn...i code with ajax and i didn't catch that at first :D.
- iChainsaw, on 10/20/2007, -0/+1i understand the code, but when i tried implementing it...it didn't work. heh, oh well. nice tutorial :D.
- bbliss17, on 07/26/2008, -0/+1Not bad
- bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1well if you're looking at IE 6 and below then you need to use XMLHTTP because those versions used an ActiveX Object provided by MSXML to invoke the XMLHttpRequest. But in IE 7 AJAX functionality has been seperated from an ActiveX enabled environment and is a native script object so that even if ActiveX were to be disabled, we could still use XMHTTP enabled web apps.
- Avaya, on 12/09/2008, -0/+1a good overview.
- Standaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is great thanks for submitting it. This definitely helped me get started.
- andr3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You don't "learn" it in 30 seconds, but it could be a good jump start for fellows out there.
it doesn't talk about sending POST requests, just GET. Nor does it tap into the XML part, as rmassie said.
I did something of the sort in my blog.. although i simply called it "my first steps in ajax" which probably would be a better title for this but still, it's diggable. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg lite
- rmassie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This method isn't technically full-blown AJAX because it cuts out the client side XML portion. No biggie, it just puts a bit more work on your server side stuff. If you've got a small app its not going to matter much anyway.
+digg - noahhendrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That has to be the best AJAX tutorial I have ever read. It showed us simpletons how easy an AJAX approach can be. If I would not have found this I would have ended up installing SAJAX or something similar.
- boxocide, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1uh that's dumb...
... i know ajax but that's just code pasted with little descriptions - i'd be impressed for anyone who doesn't know ajax and can educate themselves on it from being on that site for 30 seconds. - nthitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bubbles or not, this tutorial is impressive. Certainly doesn't mess around telling me how to do useless junk.
- Akia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That took me 31 seconds to learn. I want my refund! Really, that was a short and simple introduction to what ajax is and how it works. It's not really a full, step-by-step tutorial but it gives a rough idea of the basic way ajax works. +Digg
- andr3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0boxocide, it gives code to copy/paste, it tells nothing of the mechanisms under this technique. doesn't even describe the properties and methods of the xmlhttpreq object.
- andr3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just leaving the link for a more complete yet simple tutorial:
http://developer.apple.com/internet/webcontent/xmlhttpreq.html
still lacks some important stuff though. - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pff. More like 5 minutes.
- spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0One question though. Is it required to call 'ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")' for Internet Explorer clients?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so good I'd already blogged it.
- jense, on 12/10/2007, -0/+0Great Ajax tutorial. You can also learn Ajax with some of the great MyEclipse tutorials.
http://www.myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-displ ... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0daaaaaamn those Ajax scrubbing bubbles ran faster than a bat out of hell.
is all about keeping it simple and real baby.
digg for you. - spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I liked it too. Everytime I search for an AJAX tutorial I see a bunch of graphs that make things complicated. This one simple example pretty much explained it completely for me. I'm smart enough to figure out how to do anything else I might need.
- tdkyo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The best beginner's AJAX tutorial out there IMO.
- motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was a good quick riff on AJAX for the uninitiated. Dugg.
- Weezel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't even read that in 30 seconds but its a good resource :p
- ext237, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good stuff. More like this!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Awesome digg thanks a ton for submitting it!

Coffee - snowthrower, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That wasnt really a tutorial. It was some code with descriptions of what it did. Doesnt explain how to form code, etc. Sorry, no digg.
