Karma Rating the new way of rating anything?

magedb.wordpress.com — I’m thinking of making a whole new kind of rating system for MageDB. mainly what you have to do now to rate a file is click on a star and it’s rated but perhaps that’s not the best method now is it? perhaps a good rating can be a lot better by looking at the number of visits, download and comments on a file.
