- OBDriftwood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Where's the one for "The Dead Parrot Sketch"?
- KevinJ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Personally I learned Python from this tutorial:
http://www.pentangle.net/python/handbook/ - lagged, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10http://diveintopython.org/ you mean. The other is an ad-strewn wasteland.
- optikschmoptik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The dead parrot tutorial is here, section 4.7.2:
http://docs.python.org/tut/node6.html
And, I'll digg for later reference. - rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6http://duggmirror.com/programming/Huge_List_of_Python_Tutorials_2#c2762198
- MatthewWilkes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I got shunned on friday for mentioning "Snakes on the Plone". On a related note, SoaP is amazing, see it now.
- lordthor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7hahahahahaha, that was great.
Sorry, had to comment on that. :P - dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It takes mere minutes to learn enough python to do something useful. But this list of tutorials goes way beyond just learning the language, and is exactly what I'm looking for, or would have been looking for if I knew it existed.
- learner404, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3From the same author of this tutorials list I appreciate the greate podcast he does about learning Python : Python411 (goes strait into my ipod and I can still have my dose of Python while jogging, cleaning, shopping .... ah Python ^_^...)

- RWVolkl158, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Personally I really liked this book for learning Python: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1592000738/102-1995840-0715300?v=glance&n=283155
It teaches programming essentials in a basic enough manner to be appropriate even for young beginners (think middle school kids), but covers plenty of advanced Python oriented topics such as PyGame. While I felt pretty comfortable with Python after a few tutorials online this book was still a great start in the language, although it would be much more appropriate for completely beginning programmers. - d4rkn1ght, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Great link!
I have been learning from this link: http://www.diveintopython.uni.cc/ But yours is better! - rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For those who know the basics of programming already, and wanna give Python a try, I highly recommend "Dive Into Python", it's a great resouce, and free (just google for it).
Believe me, you might rediscover that long gone feeling of hacking some code just for fun, forgotten since you had to start programming on Java or C# for a living. - MatthewWilkes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Gotta love the pilgrim!
- ahill7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Digg effect?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The tutorials largely cover how Python interacts with the outside world (web programming, GUI building etc etc).
- nitsuj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Monty Pythons "The Meaning of Life" is what.
- ricosalomar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Only Python tutorial you'll ever need:
Now, before I begin the lesson, will those of you who are playing in the match this afternoon move your clothes down onto the lower peg immediately after lunch, before you write your letter home, if you're not getting your hair cut, unless you've got a younger brother who is going out this weekend as the guest of another boy, in which case, collect his note before lunch, put it in your letter after you've had your hair cut, and make sure he moves your clothes down onto the lower peg for you.
If you're not getting your hair cut, you don't have to move your brother's clothes down to the lower peg. You simply collect his note before lunch, after you've done your scripture prep, when you've written your letter home, before rest, move your own clothes onto the lower peg, greet the visitors, and report to Mr. Viney that you've had your chit signed. - zgeorge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WTF??
- JEmerson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I totally agree about how python can put the fun back into coding. I decided to get over my C/C++ pride and use it to put together a few applications I've been meaning to write for ages now, but which the combination of work and family make difficult to really sit down to do. The results have been nothing short of revolutionary to my way of thinking about coding. Aside from the rather sparse documentation in the kde bindings, it's been nothing short of blazing speed all the way. I'm getting what I considered a months work done in days, and even more amazingly, I'm not seeing a speed hit.
- Humzaseo, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1These are very informative tutorial with the help of these tutorial and the info on the site http://hairlosscounter.com/hairloss-questions.html I increase my knowledge about hair loss and baldness matters
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2duggmirror is a fantastic idea, is it part of Digg or an external project?
- OficerMantimber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is great, I've been learning python for a while and would like some help.
- sjtu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My favorite python books list below, allllllllll are brilliant :)
OReilly Python in a Nutshell 2nd.Edition
APress Dive Into Python
APress Beginning Python From Novice to Professional - kaiserollofdoom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah but as someone who is still in the process of learning python, breaking up concepts into different tutorials such as one for control flows and some for button interaction, many tutorials are good.
- postlogic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3http://www.diveintopython.com/ you mean? It's a great, great resource. I've read it, but personally I prefer paperback stuff. So I bought Beginning Python by Wrox. Awesome stuff.
- postlogic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2There's one covering that? How awesome. I love how Python((g) we all write it, but no one knows why) encourages references to Monty Python.
This is a definite digg. - eye1eye, on 06/24/2009, -0/+0good tutorials
