I don't care to fix this style since I don't use google's personalized home page, and there's too many problems with the display of different modules."
Not gunna install obsolete stuff. However, I think google should make this an option. - Llanowar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31I hate miniature screenshots...
- kday, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35did he even mention he was using Windows? What a stupid comment.
- matija, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17even the author marked it as OBSOLETE.. this really shouldn't be on the digg frontpage
- kingrayray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13You'd think with all the options we've got for customizing the Google personalized home page, there's be some tools for changing color scheme already :P
- cwmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8All the web needed was more shades of blue...
- joe90210, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8looks like a ***** attempt to copy Windows Live
- shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Hey I just installed this and must say it looks pretty damn cool. Useful? Probably not. Bragging rights? Sure.
- TwinSigma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8What the hell does being gay have to do with what you want Google to look like?
- Submerge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Just hit refresh a couple times, it'll load.

Installing styles from this site is as easy as a pressing the "Load into Stylish" button on a style's page when you have Stylish installed. A dialog will come up where you can rename, edit, and preview the style. Once you're happy with the style, press Save. The changes will take effect immediately. If you previously installed the style, no Install button will be present; an "Update in Stylish" button will be provided if the style was changed since you installed it.
Global and site styles can also be installed with GreaseMonkey. Click on the "Load as User Script" button on the style page, and GreaseMonkey will take over."
From how to install this plugin page - micahglasser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I changed mine... I think its sweet.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5i tried it. its horrible on the eyes.
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The colour a monitor displays really doesn't have much change on energy efficency - The backlight will take up a lot more power than the LCD pixels do, and it's on no matter what colour is displayed. Atleast for TFT's, I'm not really sure about CRT's.
But even if it does give some saving, it's pretty negligible, you'd save far more money by turning of your montior(/computer) when not using it - Or, burn your food one less time a month, the extra time the oven is on will cost you way more money than your screen displaying colours.. (I.e realativly, the ammount of power a monitor takes it tiny compared to other things)
Finally, *completely personal preference*, but the "sophisticated-matrix style" always seems very unoriginal and "childish" - But, as I said, t'is personal preference..
- Ben - curios, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The reason i described black with green fonts more sophisticated, is because when i was young and computers were an emerging phenonemen, this is how they looked, and i have to say, there was something captivating about that.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Right click on the image then click on 'View Image'
(works with some images on the Userstyles site, but not this particular one) - creep303, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dammit userstyles is down.
- curios, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1a black background is energy efficient. Most web pages should have this by default with the option to change, also green fonts on black background are easy on the eye and look more sophisticated-matrix style.
This is how my desktop is setup; fiddled with the display options on windows. - dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I use a module that lets you change the background colour (Called "bGcolor"). It works fine, doesn't let you change the font colours etc, but I find a light-blue easier to read than the normal white background.
I'm pretty sure there was other modules that let you change more about the appearance than just the background colour, but bGcolor works fine for me

I installed Styles, clicked the buttons on the page, both styles are listed under my "Manage Styles" section and are checked. Running FF2.0. Anyone know what's up?
- rmw132, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Works for me 100% and it looks kickass.

- Harmless, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Black on yellow is supposedly most aesthetically appealing. Thats what i read anyway. Who knows.

- CharlesDarwin, on 10/12/2007, -27/+1Only a gay moron would think this was a good look for google! I wish the author's momma would've swallowed him/her.
- JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -66/+12"Not gunna install obsolete stuff."
