- geminitojanus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Wow, that "site" *cough-blog-cough* has some of the largest font I've ever seen. They must be really Web 2.0.
- Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Ctrl+mousewheel down is your friend.
Some of these are very cool. :) - dognose, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7half of these aren't ajax. there are just javascript stuff, and one is a plugin based thing!
- chime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I clicked on this comment thread about two hours ago to whine about how sick I am of Ajax thing and Ajax that. I read someone's comment about ZenPhoto and decided to give it a try. I LOVE IT! Thanks :)
/never-judge-a-link-by-its-catch-word - Chris_F, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yeah, whats with that? I can understand some of the Web 2.0 trends, but what's with the giant fonts? Makes it seem like Web 2.0 is for old farts who can't read. ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thanks! I downloaded "ZenPhoto" from that site and installed it on my server. After making a MYSQL DB and configuring a few files, it's now up and running and I absolutely love it.
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is something Ajax actually seems useful for, seamless photoalbums instead of the CSS reloading everytime and throwing everything into a ***** until its loaded.
- Chongo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I guess if your a huge digger you'd get pretty sick of it.
these things look so nice though don't they? I mean, it's a real acomplishment to design this stuff yourself, but finally people like me can work more on the content then getting the damn thing working. - spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The lightbox one is nice. I've implemented it on my site: http://www.kevin-foster.net
IE doesnt want to show the background darkening, but it still looks alright to me :)
Great resource! It's an added bonus to my site. Thank you! - nowisee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ajax is 1 part javascript, 1 part xml and 1 part css.
- olympuscoder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11) It is a slideshow. It should be static, not dynamic content. This is just like people who's entire site is PHP. It is silly.
2) You don't need AJAX to do this stuff well. Javascript is what is really happening here. The AJAX part just manages the pictures dynamicly (which is REALLY SILLY to do realtime in a dynamic fashion).
I have a slide show that is pretty nice: http://andrew.fritztech.com/albums/favorites/jslide.html
The page is static (built by my custom album scripts) and all the images are resized beforehand so I don't need to load the server down at request time. - Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm really digging that Lightbox JS one
+digg - hansonc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's especially hard when you have to deal with crap browsers like IE
- DannyX0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow this is really nice!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, ZenPhoto is nice. Here is a nice theme for it that I think looks great! Preview + Download: http://www.bleecken.de/zenphoto/
- droxy429, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i was bored so i tried out zenphoto, i really like it.
I was looking for a decent gallery to use, and i think this is it.
Thanks :) - nzeeshan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is awesomee .. great resource ..
- stevesearer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Thanks for the ctrl+mousewheel hint :)
- jeff1943, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Agreed, but I still digg it for the interesting scripts I see.
- DrakeGTA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool, Leaned Something new.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Same here, i'm getting tired of it... but this is pretty cool, especially the Canvas Reflection Demo (first thing i clicked when i went to that page)
- tigi2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"AJAX this, AJAX that - its cool, but I'm getting tired of hearing it...."
Just call it differently. For example, "call back". It is just a way to incorporate your own "small database" using javascript and xml.

Skip the word "ajax" if it doesn't sound good. And you will need CSS to incorporate the code. - nutcase, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0these are kijnda cool, but about half have issues in IE.
it is easy to do this stuff when you don't care about crossbrowser compatibility - TRucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful list and great source. implementation it on site
TRucks - marsburn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i agree
- TRucks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful list and great source. implementation it on site
http://www.euro-truck.biz - Coreguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1use it,but don't abuse it...
thanks - prockcore, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1most aren't ajax.. zenphoto is just a regular php photo app... maybe the comments were ajax, but the slideshow wasn't.
I like the modal dialogs though, and the reflection demo. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This AJAX hype is getting out of control, First off, I've been doing this stuff since 1999, and second, who the hell cares about "fading" images when you can use postcard viewer (google it)?
- vagrantradio, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Ajax is the new Javascript.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Ajax? Isn't thats some type of dish soap?
- arcsine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have to agree with the sentiment here...I'm really tired of hearing about AJAX and web 2.0. There is no more creativity left to the "movement"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6AJAX this, AJAX that - its cool, but im getting tired of hearing it.
How about cool css..what ever happened to that? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I tested the canvas reflection thing on IE. Doesnt work.
- stylesP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Thirty times Ajax - this cant be bad
- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Amen, I couldn't stand trying to read it with those fonts. Holy ***** over the top.
- Zipp425, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Amen!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax ajax
that's all the world thinks about now - ArmchairAthlete, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0If I hear AJAX one more time I'm going to scream.
Stop digging ajax articles. - Cglass, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0They all sucked; their use of ajax was poor if even identifiable, and I'm not even sure the manner in which they load the images makes any sense, some were just off the wall confusing. Don't bother looking. No digg.
- florin, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Contains the word AJAX - reported as "ok, this is lame".
By the way, no digg.

What is Digg?
