- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+42I have no problem with the way it looks now.
The real problems are issues that user css isn't going to fix:
- true comment threading
- fixing the report dropdown box for opera
- filtering out some of the more retarded dupes so we don't get the same stories frontpaged within hours of each other
- placing more emphasis on actual news and less on "non-news" like funny videos, how to customise digg, what's good/bad/coming soon about ubuntu and firefox, why microsoft and sony suck and are on the urge of going bankrupt and reasons why google office is going to destroy the world of software as we know it. - misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Or if you have the Stylish extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2108/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25I really want to be a part of the herd and be "cool" and voted up. Unfortunately my knees aren't so great and my doctor said to avoid unnecessary and prolongued bending over.
- noodlez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24removing the ads is a little lame, imho.
they're the only reason digg is still going like it is. i don't mind a few text ads if it'll keep this damn page alive (and to prevent other ads, like popups or flash ads that talk to you or things like that). - NoOneButMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19if you know how to edit the .css files directly
- hansonc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19@r2d7
Sorry buddy if you don't kiss the Digg boyz asses you get dugg down around here even when all you do is point out how they can't seem to do something that slashdot has had forever, true threaded comments. - AesSedai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12~noodlez I agree. I recently found Digg. Wouldn't want to loose it. I can deal with the ads.
- wolver1ne, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12For ***** sake, stop posting these scripts every single day. Make a story about userstyles.org and be happy.
- LouisC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Copy and paste everything except the:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document domain("digg.com"),
url("http://duggmirror.com/") {
and the ending }
Paste it into a file with a .css extension. Then, right click Digg and under the "display" tab, look under "my style sheet" and click browse and find the new file you just made. Then refresh digg and it should work. If this doesn't work, go into your preferences and take a look at Advanced > Content > Style Options. Here, set the default mode to "User mode" and make sure "My style sheet", "Page fonts and colors", and "Page style sheet" are checked.
That should work. - akinder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"After all, every ad-blocking digg user knows advertising isn't a real or viable business model."
You obviously have never tried to run a web based business. There is a lot of money to be made in selling ad spots if you are a popular site. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I actually hope the millions of non-members see this kind of thing, block the ads and the company resorts to "a real business model" to stay afloat. After all, every ad-blocking digg user knows advertising isn't a real or viable business model.
What's a dozen staff, offices, servers and whatnot work out to anyway? About $25k a week overhead just to provide us with digg? That's approximately $2.50 / user / year which has to come from somewhere and it doesn't even take into consideration "profit".
It'd be a nice eye-opener for the people who go out of their ways to promote and spread ad blocking on the very sites they use if *they* became the revenue source instead of the current passive and unobtrusive advertisements. - Modulo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the Herd you speak of is an illusion. The average Digger just skews pro-smart, anti-bad idea, pro-mac & ubuntu, pro-wii & south park libertarian, and anti-asshead.
occasionally there is a zerg rush of malkinites. but there is no herd. - BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How can I use this with Opera? Help please.
- whozyodaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is nice... only on the right side there is a blank white gap.

- FetalSage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The nav bar gets cut off on my screen.
- phantom_mullet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1how did you put the navbar on the left with that particular style?
- CircleFusion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@r2d7
It didn't read like sarcasm to me. You should probably put a wink ;-) or /sarcasm next time. - Swimming_Bird, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i liked v3 more, thats what i'm using now.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Okay, let me try again:
I actually hope the millions of non-members see this kind of thing, block the ads and the company resorts to (sarcasm)"a real business model"(/sarcasm) to stay afloat. After all, every ad-blocking digg user knows (sarcasm)advertising isn't a real or viable business model(/sarcasm).
wink wink, nudge nudge
;)
heh - addicted68098, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13 minutes of editing digg's CSS, and one small if and its now 3.1 amazing!
- Latka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People, try to be compliant, otherwise it's a mess!!
Everyone knows there are tags for sarcasm, and the go like this:
I really hate sarcasm
;-) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats because his monitor is obviously bigger than yours
- Latka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh, that came out wrong :(
I'm ready for the mass distributed punishment - chickenpants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0remove the float: left !important from #contents, #sidebar.
you also have to change some of the padddings to get it to look right. - TDTech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is awesome I have never thought of digg being better but it shows it can be :)
Digg'd fosho - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Everyday?
First I've seen of it, and I browse digg a lot. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2You obviously suck at spotting sarcasm :P
- firebird1987, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I would just like to say screw everyone that dugg me down because I don't know anything about editing .css files. Excuse me for not dedicating my life to learning as much as I can about computers, I personally only need to know enough to maintain my job, which quite frankly, is probably a lot more interesting than editing files to make a website look better. Oh, and thanks hansonc and r2d7.
- chickenpants, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1never been a fan of the fluid page layout. my resolution is always pretty big and the stretch just makes for some weird wrapping text. though i'll agree with the left hand navigation. took this one http://userstyles.org/style/show/1094 and put the nav back on the left side.. it's very nice.
also the stylish extension is great. finally was able to touch up fark.com to spruce it up a bit.. even if it is for my eyes only. i always hated those sidebars. - firebird1987, on 10/12/2007, -21/+5well then, i guess i'll never personlize mine
- firebird1987, on 10/12/2007, -33/+7You can personlize Digg??

What is Digg?
