It's way too easy now to find someone's myspace, facebook, home address, cell phone #, personal website etc with a little google searching. If you use a separate identity for each thing and don't link them at least you can control how much people can find out about you.

    My facebook and personal website are for friends and pretty much anyone else. My identities for online forums etc are different and I don't connect the two. Some people wouldn't appreciate some of the comments I have made and I want to feel free to express myself without fear of a future employer finding my comments on digg or some web forum.
