I must admit she didn't do the coding :) - dnthomps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I can't resist. Let me have it.. I know its coming.

Always wanted to know how to do this with my hosted images.
Gonna try this out on my server now.
+digg - adamcrown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I created a dynamic thermostat for fundraising using PHP (no images involved, it's 100% code generated).
http://obledesign.com/thermostat - dirtyword, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Digg is starting to suck because most of the comments are from haters. I think if something has been said (especially a complaint about how much something sucks) don't say it again. You're just polluting the comments and making digg suck.
- dvdd127, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you guys are so kind... no need for the hostility... not everyone knows php like the back of their hands....
- Tarquin999, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0This is a very awsome, and easy to follow tutorial, especially for something that people think is so hard... THANK YOU VERY MUCH. In response to all the haters: If you dont like it, dont read it, and Digg happens to come up on google when you search for things like dynamic images.
- ph3rny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.ipnow.org
... uses something like this - DanElHombre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I created a dynamic sig to show what I'm currently playing in winamp.
Seems kind of pointless for someones sig to tell me what my IP and browser is. - mstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its more like "dynamic text images" which would be more informative. Its a good tutorial, but nothing really new or ground breaking.
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not all of us know PHP. I'm digging it.
- dpsleep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0made somthing like this for itunes
http://cycodude.com/gd/aqua.php - SenorPez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So now retyping the PHP documentation pages and callling it a tutorial makes Digg? Database connection tutorial, here I come!
- dpsleep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh and somthing a little more advaced is centering your text, use this
$textwidth=imagefontwidth (1); //get the width of the font ur useing, in this case 1
$text=$textwidth * strlen($string); //multiplys the width of the text by the length of the string of text
$text2=100-($text / 2); //100 is half the width of your picture
imagestring($img, 1, $text2, 150, $string); //then just set the width position with $text2 - Andelys, on 03/24/2008, -0/+0Good work!

- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why is this stupid, but a dozen Photoshop tutorials a week isn't?
- v3xt0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is soo new and such an exciting technology, we should base the 'web2.0' upon this framework.
// end sarcasm
Dynamic Image Text... AKA phpGDn00b.101, bfd! - Zher0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I made something like this a while back. It is worth noting that some things on the Interweb (like forums) don't like image links that don't have a familiar extension (gif, jpg, etc). I used Apache's 'look back' feature to fake a gif extension.
http://www.shawnmcgough.com/lback/hate.php/Digg/hate.gif - qishi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is the 3rd stupidest thing I've seen on digg, but it still doesn't beat the guy growing shrubbery in his keyboard.
- sproutworks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Making images with PHP is fun. I've made scripts that draw gradients, pie graphs, mazes, clocks, buttons, and other stuff. I wish they would upgrade the bundled GD extension to the latest version, which can make animated GIFs. I would love to generate movies with PHP.
Here's my tree drawing script:

- olegk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That's the stupidest post i've seen on Digg. That's like the basics of PHP, it's in every friggin PHP book. Why post that???
- SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"Digg is starting to suck because most of the comments are from haters. I think if something has been said (especially a complaint about how much something sucks) don't say it again. You're just polluting the comments and making digg suck."
You DO realize you just complained about how much something sucks right?
"Not all of us know PHP. I'm digging it."
Let's see.. I really want to learn some basics about using the GD extension with PHP!! ... I think i'll wait until a post about it pops up on digg!! .. No, that's not what this site is for, if you wanted to learn this just google it, it's all over. - breakfree, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1this is the beginning of the end!!!
- n0other, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0SenorPez: you are so right. Been happening lately. People will do everything to get some traffic. No digg.
- Mimorox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I made one of these a while back, the hard part is getting their OS and browser ;)

- dasch, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1Stop it with the PHP tutorials already! I've spent years programming in PHP only to discover that it's crap. Want a *real* scripting language? Use Python or Ruby!

What is Digg?
