- tj111, on 12/15/2008, -0/+19It's a shame one of the plugins I work on didn't make the list, it's definitely better than alot of those plugins, and better than alot of other WYSIWG editors.
http://code.google.com/p/mooeditable/ - Kickboy, on 12/15/2008, -0/+15As a JS Developer who has used many libraries (jQuery, Prototype (+plugins), mooTools, YUI, and other custom libs); I can say jQuery is by far my favorite, in terms of syntax and ease of coding it can't be matched. Though I must admit mooTools comes in second place among the more popular libraries. This is a pretty good list of the best plugins, but take a look at jQuery's plugin page and you'll find all of these and more. (With the exception of a good WYSIWYG editor... which is frustrating)
I digg it. - webresources, on 12/15/2008, -0/+13I believe none of them is really better than other. But jQuery has a bigger community which makes things easier.
I prefer the markup of MooTools but unlimited resources of jQuery.
Great list btw.. - lovemorgul, on 12/15/2008, -0/+12This theme is actually a very good base.....
- desken, on 12/15/2008, -0/+12Not bad, but I have to stick to my guns: jQuery.
- Braxo, on 12/15/2008, -0/+7http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=moo+tool&l ...
- markstory, on 12/15/2008, -0/+7I've used mooeditable before, its awesome. Good work on it!
- dogfood, on 12/15/2008, -0/+7I love the stuff people are doing with mootools, but jquery is still way more mature and easier to use.
- onlinedaksh, on 12/15/2008, -0/+6thx for sharing great handy tools
- mongo22, on 12/15/2008, -0/+5Oh, ok mooTools are tools for Java Script Developers. I admittedly had no clue. Good stuff though.
- annjay, on 12/15/2008, -0/+4Nice list! I really love to use mootools from past few months. Thanks for the great list.
- aussieNickuss, on 12/16/2008, -0/+4Holy crap...that's awesome. Thanks for the link! =)
- slightlyoffbeat, on 12/15/2008, -0/+4I use some of the stuff from phatfusion and its great.
A lot of great looking plugins. Dugg. - tombkilla, on 12/16/2008, -0/+3Spend five minutes on the support forums, you will understand what Mature means. If you ask for help on jquery not only do you get a TON of assistance, but they treat you like a human, go figure. If you ask for help on mootools, you will be branded an idiot and you will get more people insulting you than helping you.
When your product seems like it is run by a bunch of high school losers it does lose a lot of its credibility. Maybe thats what Mature meant? - miralize, on 12/15/2008, -0/+3you can take your spam and shove it....
- tombkilla, on 12/16/2008, -0/+3Buried. Mootools is a great tool built by a bunch of wet behind the ears douchebags. Check out the forums and public opinion on the 'community'
More like a bunch of elitists who use the tool as an opportunity to bully others on the internet. Ask anyone. I was bought and sold on mootools until I had invested about a years worth of time in it to find NO SUPPORT, breaking changes every build, and a community that sucks so bad, they had to remove their own forum as it was 'ruining our image' - jonathantneal, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2I haven't seen SWFObject or sIFR ported to mooTools yet. :-)
- dwclifton, on 12/20/2008, -0/+2Bootools.
- bahawkid, on 12/16/2008, -0/+2"is it Better than jQuery?".
Mootools friends uses jquery... go to http://mootools.net/ then click the link on top "in partnership with (mt)" then view the MT's code. You'll find jquery...oh wait jquery is (mt)'s friend too....
its a conspiracy... - Quick2822, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2MooTools is great. Nice to see more examples and such because the main site had a limited few.
- gilbes, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2When demoing JavaScript techniques, it is important that the pages are not littered with JavaScript errors. Unfortunately, that is not the case here.
- link470, on 12/15/2008, -0/+2Fantastic resource. Especially liking the drop down log in menu!
- jas168, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2***** yeah. Great concept and execution
- olenick, on 12/16/2008, -0/+2One of the tools is called cropper... I was reading quickly, thinking "another j-script library?" and thought it was called "crapper." That momentarily made me think this framework might be marginally interesting, a thought that quickly evaporated when I read more carefully.
- starkraving, on 12/16/2008, -0/+2Dugg for mooRainbow, a fantastic color picker that can even be loaded lazily.
- mohtasham, on 12/17/2008, -0/+2MooFlow looks awesome.
- iericg, on 12/16/2008, -0/+2I've gone from animating in Flash to Mootools and now jQuery. As a developer jQuery by far is also my preferred library. It just makes more sense when integrating/wrapping my head around mark up, styles, and PHP.
As a designer mootools does seem to handle animation better.
However I've learned that overuse of animation & fancy effects can be just as annoying in javascript as it would be in Flash. - diggamatron, on 12/16/2008, -1/+2Dugg for silly rhetorical "is it Better than jQuery?" question.

- jaygeeze, on 12/16/2008, -1/+2MooTools is older than jQuery, so I'm not too sure about what you meant by "mature" here.
- tombkilla, on 12/16/2008, -1/+2Not to mention that Microsoft provides support for jQuery as it is such a well documented library with a great community. Even built in intellisense for jQuery within the studio tools.
jQuery == win win win;
Mootools == lose lost done;
Unless you are a script kiddie, stick to a real library. Neat or cool features isn't something you should be selling to you clients, reliability is. Mootools offers no stability whatsoever. As a tool or community... - xiangxianni, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1MooTools is great. Nice to see more examples and such because the main site had a limited few.

btw:guys, donot spam, thanks - valums, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1I think that both jquery and mootools are really great, however I chose jquery for my current project because it has beautiful syntax.
- OhHeyTeebs, on 12/16/2008, -0/+1There are a lot of old people out there who act like children.
dogfood is saying that jQuery is "mature" in the way that it's more documented, supported, and useful than MooTools. I don't know if that's a fact or not, but use whatever javascript framework works for you and the task at hand. :) - jmkiii, on 12/15/2008, -2/+2For cows?

Sorry kids, but the JS framework war is over. Microsoft is incorporating jQuery into their next Visual Studio release, not that this is end all; but that whole army MSDN toolbags will start contributing to it soon. - SimpleAlex, on 01/12/2009, -1/+0Simulation pret immobilier
