- rauz, on 11/09/2007, -10/+360Meh, it's not even #FF0000, more like #CC3333. Oh god...that's geeky.
- slicedoranges, on 10/11/2007, -1/+139I took a sample from a non-reflective surface of the car and it was #D94448... now excuse me while I fap to hentai.
- noch, on 10/11/2007, -27/+133buried for being taken with an iPhone
- indyGuy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+76I saw a Wyoming plate in binary. Unfortunately, I was driving 90mph and didn't have time to figure out what it translated into... :/
- Spidey99, on 11/09/2007, -4/+75roses are #FF0000 violets are #0000FF all my base are belong to you.
- choppinbroccoli, on 10/11/2007, -3/+69Roses are #FF0000,
Violets are #0000FF,
All my base
Are belong to you. - Twinked, on 10/11/2007, -4/+61I'm more impressed with the fact they debadged the Mazda 3.
- pbaehr, on 10/11/2007, -14/+66Screen color varies, should have gone with "PMS 185" for a better match.
- glowb, on 10/11/2007, -9/+61The word definition of the Awesome has really changed.
- merreborn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+51If you can't convert 7 binary digits in your head at 90 mph, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to confiscate your geek card. It couldn't have possibly been a number higher than 127 anyway.
- rauz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+46So did I but I took a 101x101 pixel median sample from a non-reflective area and then converted it to a websafe hex.
Hey I told you it was geeky :) - cabazorro, on 10/11/2007, -1/+45I pity da #FFOOOO ain't doin 24bit depth.
- strictnein, on 10/11/2007, -1/+35I was thinking along the same lines actually. Definitely not #FF0000
- worksopRob, on 10/11/2007, -37/+70How is this in any way, shape, or form, awesome?
- kevsedg, on 10/11/2007, -7/+37It's 42. Or am I missing something?
- kevsedg, on 10/11/2007, -6/+36It's 42. Or am I missing something?
- kevsedg, on 10/11/2007, -6/+36It's 42. Or am I missing something?
- asuraci, on 10/11/2007, -0/+30That's the first triple post I've ever seen.
- Eska, on 10/11/2007, -2/+29The car has an apple sticker in the back....
- PeterBassett, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21#BD2B34 on average...
- Phaedruss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19I don't think a 6 digit limit in binary would translate in to much. Unless...
101010 - RangerRick, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Texas doesn't allow punctuation I guess... I like mine better. :)
http://ranger.befunk.com/gallery2/v/misc/licenseplate/aab.jpg.html - GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Maybe not obvious to people that arent programmers or graphic designers i guess. The hex code shown on the number plate represents the colour red, which is the colour of the car itself. *I* think it's awesome anyway. For it to be cool it would have to be either red, green or blue (white or black wouldnt really cut it because that would give FFFFFF or 000000), so there can only be three cars (in the world?) that have this kind of number plate. And even then, green might not be so cool, which leaves blue as the only other example. So not only awesome, but very rare.
- jhecht, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16... The saddest part about that is that i understand it
- ZheAldo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17You know, Burries and Diggs are supposed to mark pertinence, not preference.
- jull1234, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13thank you for explaining base 16 counting (poorly) to everyone.
- superkendall, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13No. It's a Phone. Not a camera. The camera is actually not too bad, but it's a camera phone - in this case it did the job well enough, to capture the plate.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12It doesn't hold up to the awesomeness of the Florida tags: A55 RGY
- AnthonyA7, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Not in the world, just in each state.
- Reziarfg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10It's 42. Or am I missing something?
- strictnein, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10No, it would have been sad had you not known that.
- mapkinase, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9You are not getting to any base today.
- GreenAlien, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16If it's one thing worse than a Apple fanboy, it's an anti-Apple fanboy. Grow up. Nothing wrong with owning an Apple product.
- jesstech, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Wait, you're a chick?
I'd be careful with that. - awhiteflame, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9But violets are more #FF00FF!
- cosmo7, on 11/09/2007, -0/+9It is awesome too! This is my plate: http://flickr.com/photos/jcanady/478507703/
- TheSaladMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Eddie Izzard says it best: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0rYT0YvQ3hs
- hockey, on 10/11/2007, -16/+24Since no one else has said it I guess I'll be the first.
Why in the world is this on the front page? - choppinbroccoli, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Actually, didn't even see that at all. Just heard it today at the office and figured it was a good fit for this thread.
Oh well. Sorry bout that. Digg me down if you wish. - wushu18t, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8my god, that's a lovely statement. im gonna actually use that and whoever finds it romantic will be my new bf.
- harshbarj, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7But there is everything wrong with pushing it on people like the iphone users are. Just take the photo and post it. Who really cares what was used to take it.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8We would all be disappointed if you didn't
- brokentone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7*Someone doesn't know his hex color codes*
- foobarox, on 10/11/2007, -11/+18Buried for using (twice) the words:
1. Awesome
2. iPhone - BevansDesign, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I laughed. So it gets a digg.
This is probably the first "joke" I've encountered that only makes sense to web designers. - Urusai, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9UNIMPRESSED? The picture was taken by an IPHONE!!!!! iCreamed!
- arial, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I find it funny how he repeatedly reminds us it was taken from his iPhone.
- ahhell, on 10/11/2007, -9/+15*Yawn*
- herkalees, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Another, found by Mr. Meyer: http://flickr.com/photos/meyerweb/512968935/
- elfofdoriath9, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Hey, at least this was at least a little geeky. Better than a picture of a boy hugging a dog and all of that *****...
