Already have it! - h2d2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Bitty is a piece of ***** code that adds advertisements and other crap for no ***** reason. You are better off with an open source javascript RSS reader.
- mwisconsin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks...I handed it over to the admin at http://www.mmfhoh.org, and they've added a digg search on "scam" to their site. Good show.
- 1337geek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the diggs it shows are outdated , dosnt it get updated?
- mykoleary, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For calling itself bitty, it's not all that bitty...
- Bahwoot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Remove from Digg please
Patent pending spammer putting his own adds on an existing freely available code. - turnstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"the diggs it shows are outdated , dosnt it get updated?"
It caches feeds for 30 minutes -- that helps keep the load down and the performance up, and seemed like a short enough time for the feed to still feel fresh. -Scott - tacom8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0odd i just did this today 2 hours ago, thought it was an old feature...
its a killer idea though! nice work digg staff! - Konquest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks pretty nice... :)
Keep up the good work - turnstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"but i want something thats available the instance it happens"
It's a tradeoff -- the shorter the cache time, the higher the load and the slower potential response time. But if people wind up thinking that 30 minutes is too long (or too short), that cache duration can be tweaked later (30 minutes at least seemed like a reasonable start). -Scott - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting... did you know you can enter something like
javascript:wrapper_full(9,4,223182)
in your browser window and it will digg the story without actually clicking? - EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For those who use the CMS Joomla or mambo, here's a module that'll put this right into your sidebar.

Does it come in Firefox? Now I am gonna play my own life in the Sims . . .
Now I know this is very good but why?
as the song goes "I am just a life played in a video game" - turnstyle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"For calling itself bitty, it's not all that bitty..."
You can set the size to whatever you want by tweaking the code (ie, just chnage the default width and/or height). The default height is 400 pixels, and the default width is 100% (meaning, it fills horizontally). So, you can change the size -- and you can also switch to icon-only buttons, turn off the titlebar, etc. (by setting other options in the Bitty code). -Scott - Acill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool! I added it to my site as well. http://www.acill.com if you want to see it.
- tacom8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0er forget what i said.... i didnt RTFA... kudos to the bitty staff!
- rusty_g, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1good code...
- turnstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Does it come in Firefox"
It should just work with most reasonably recent browsers (I've done most of my review checking with IE, Firefox, and Safari) -- in any case, there's no special client side-software necessary. -Scott - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is cool, I might do it on mine.
http://www.aljitech.com/ Digg's Playground - hypnotiq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This reminds me of the Citrix Website Viewer only much better actually.
- vagrantradio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Useless, ugly and did I mention useless?
- inhalent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha that's pretty damn cool I won't be using it or anything cause one thing people dont seem to know is no one else really cares what other people are digging unless they're of the level of KRose, or have a devout group of people following their blog.
- Mutifus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bitty is not the best name to call something.
Well, not if you are familar with the Little Britain comedy TV series that is!

You don't have to use it with a digg username, you can also use it with a digg search term, or with other services (I won't name them here, but they're listed on the Bitty site). Or you can use it with any URL, RSS feed, podcast or OPML file. And if you just don't add content, you can use it as a self-contained search box. -Scott - turnstyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Why use this when you can go strait to the source."
If you add Bitty to your site, visitors can browse and read the contents without necessarily having to leave the "containing" page (ie, they don't always have to open a new window or tab, unless that's their preference). There are also some other built-in features, like the "mutlti search" tool. Basically, the idea is that you can do more stuff, in less space. -Scott - kevbryant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha dont know If I would ever use it, but in the words of Paris Hilton, "That's so hot"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sorry, but it looks awfull. great idea though.
- pigdart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why use this when you can go strait to the source. In the very top of this window click on profile(got to be logged in). On that page scroll all the way down and click on the "add this feed to your website" then follow the instructions. Much cleaner and you get options.
- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0cool, works perfectly.
- boohiss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0bitty browser is pretty cool

- 1337geek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0but i want something thats available the instance it happens... no digg.
- cr3ative, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0That site is really up it's own arse for an iframe and some javascript.
