- EGOvoruhk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+118I sleep with your computer too. Actually, I think most of digg does. She gets around. I've probably dugg her 10 or 20 times, if you know what I mean
- Flanker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+79You're on digg. Everyone knows you're lying.
- SeboZero, on 10/12/2007, -5/+57I sleep with my computer. :(
- ravuya, on 10/12/2007, -4/+56Web applications are _not_ software now?
- fliz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+431. Make and save a playlist (as a file)
2. Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks
3. Set your playlist as the scheduled program to run
It'll automatically open the default media player for the playlist when the scheduled time arrives. You can also set multiple scheduled run times for different wake up times on different days. Just make sure the volume is up enough...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+48me and my ethernet port get it on atleast twice a day. and just for your information, i'm the one thats clogging up the internet.
- cuathon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43You know, regardless of the fact that it's online or whatever, why is it better than a regular alarm clock? It's not like I sleep next to my computer...
- SRJanit0r, on 10/12/2007, -11/+46I do
- andydude117, on 10/12/2007, -9/+44I'm not gonna keep my computer running all night just for some dumb alarm clock
- sobriquet, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37The reason I stopped using a computer based alarm clock was because of my computer itself. Between the 7 fans and the bright blue fan/temp gauge display I found it impossible to sleep with it on.
- Petrarch1603, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32your comment adds to said clutter
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28what DannySpace means is his D&D Clan stops by and wakes him
- himthatwas, on 10/12/2007, -7/+35Obviously you didn't see "Orange"!
- natm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Best software alarm clock I've seen is...

The script checks the train arrival times at the local station, so if there delayed (as frequently is the case in the UK), you can get some more time in bed!
Saw a presentation on it last year at a conference, brilliant stuff! - ericnmu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+26but sir, my alarm clock 505'd!
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26 I set the alarm, but when it was due to go off, it redirected to a 500 Server Error page and did nothing. If I had set this for work, I'd probably end up sacked ;)
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -5/+27The best computer alarm clock?
iSnooze: http://ita.progoth.com/ (for Windows) - Miyazaki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20My cellphone replaced my alarm clock years ago. I'm not looking for a replacement just yet.
Thanks anyway. - ZPWeeks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20My alarm clock never gets dugg.... So it goes off in the morning.
- Bokista, on 10/19/2007, -1/+20If only I could turn the font yellow I could feel like I'm a part of the show '24'.
- Petrarch1603, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21perhaps someone can make a linux version out of a bed stand
- willbb123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15thats cool.... i wish school could be running late...
- rodonnell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15This looks oddly familiar...oh that's right:
http://javascript.internet.com/time-date/digital-clock.html
http://www.shed.com/tutor/audrey/clockhowto/alarmclock.html
Except for the size of the gifs / background color options and the...ahem...Google Ads tacked on.
It even isn't really an "ALARM ONLINE CLOCK" since the Javascript is being run on your local machine.
One word - LAME! - himthatwas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15AOL is your provider
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Is an Alarm Online Clock anything like an Online Alarm Clock?
- jono181, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13citrus is by far the coolest alarm clock software. wake up to any mp3 you want, tons of features and it's free.
http://www.ornj.net/citrus/ - retech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14
I've never heard of a connection problem being an issue. Nor have I ever heard of a computer hanging up. Most importantly, I've never heard of Murphy's Law or cosmic irony.
I think this is a great idea to use a web alarm for my most important dates/times as a wake up or reminder! - CypherXero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14cron for *nix, Scheduled Tasks for Windows. Simple and easy.
- streetlamp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I wonder how many people set an alarm for tomorrow morning only to wake up 2 hours late because the site got dugg?
- floppyparty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Looks like some duo of highschool juniors just passed their intro to web programming 101 midterm...
How the hell did this get dug so high? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8lmao, Palmela Handerson haha classic. Thanks that made my night
- DannySpace, on 10/12/2007, -9/+17Nah,
My girl wakes me up in the morning, and trust me, she's much better at it than this thing. ;) - aelias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7First of all, ***** this. Doesn't work is an auto no-digg. Second of all, the default black background blends in with the adsense words, making me think Zen Clock was some sort of ginchy option.
Now, I have lost face, and I still wake up late.
Buried - detonate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@Petrarch1603 I always thought that starting up and shutting down put far more stress on a hard drive than continuous operation.
- DD32, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Then its not "built in" if you have to install a plugin!
My phone is a alarm clock too.. I just have ot install the alarm clock module... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8This is called a MFA site. "Made for Adsense". The JavaScript is public source and the site is made solely to generate ad clicks. Time to investigate the people who very quickly simultaneously "dugg" this...
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Well, my dad wakes me up.
- MatttK, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I sleep in the same room as one of my computers but I don't trust my ISP enough to use a web app to wake me up. I'll use my PDA or DS, thanks. ;)
- geardosdotnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6the whole site seems to be a clever way to trick people into clicking the adsense ads :D
You wake up groggy and try and turn off the alarm and end up at some alarm clock vendor's site - marc26uk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@Tensenki
LOL @ *****.0 - Is that yours or did i miss that one ? - lcarsdeveloper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm not all that impressed with this.
It's just a little kid's javascript project, made by an adult trying to make Adsense money.
I mean, for *****'s sake all you've done is copy and paste a script from here:
http://hard-drive.hypermart.net
and added some ads and colors. I was crapping out more impressive scripts in high school using Microsoft Word's Export To HTML feature...
This is really nothing special and nothing worth messing your pants over.
Your page doesn't even validate! And look at all those lines of code, 270 lines to make an alarm clock. Jesus. Why the hell did you use pictures? What's wrong with plain text?
Here's what I want:
-A site to keep track of upcoming important events, such as when I need to record a particular TV show
-It should require a login so I can check it on any computer
-It should be able to send a notification email, which would be perfect for me because I have a email on my mobile phone. "Beep Beep Beep! Tape this show!"
Oh wait...www.google.com/calendar
Never mind.
But I've bookmarked your page so I can submit it to webpagesthatsuck.com.
PS linkleecher.com is a nice site. Good work. - Stompp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm sure I'm not the only one that read "Rosi Palmer" in that statement...
*edit* as Flanker points out... Don't bother trying to impress us... we know better - Ystig, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Not as easy as this. And easy comes at a premium for most users, who don't think unnecessary complexity constitutes elegance. It's hard to beat the ease of this alarm clock: two mouse clicks. Done. Requiring absolutely no prior knowledge. Can you say that about using cron or Scheduled Tasks to the same effect? And what do you want to bet that 90% of Windows users don't even know how to access Scheduled Tasks and would fail to apply it to the necessary purpose if asked? Ease of use. It is and should be the mantra of the current generation of web developers. And "but we've got an older and vastly more arcane solution to that problem" is not an acceptable alternative.
- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7When using windows sometimes the computer turns off by itself.
- Tiger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5good idea,
but sometimes it doesn't work.. you can't rely on it. - arizonagroove, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7"seriously, though - who turns their computer off"
The majority of people who use computers I suspect.
" and why? "
Because it saves power. It's like asking why people turn off the lights when they go to bed or why people turn off their car engines off when they park.
Your fridge analogy is totally flawed. If you keep turning your fridge off over night then your when you turn it back on it has to work to cool itself down again. Thus you don't save power. May even use more power. The same does not apply to a computer. - tastycheese, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6your wish is granted.
http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/more/ - Morgantor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The thing doesn't work. Other than that, it's really kewl.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7that ***** thing doesnt work i just set it for the next minute, and it rolled on up to the next minute... DIDNT DO ***** kept on going.
- osbjmg, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The worst part is that it doesn't actually work, laming.
