- r3zonance, on 10/15/2007, -8/+15Because people dugg it, stop with these ***** "how is this..." comments.
It only get's there cos people care, so deal with it.
Just cos it may not be your idea of news, doesn't mean it isn't. - nextsteposx, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14No Digg!!!
the monster/girl is scary! - spectre_25gt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Oh, that's just an emo girl. They're more afraid of you than you are of them.
- vann, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5For what it's worth, all three of these libraries are written by people involved in Ruby on Rails. If you like these you should check out RoR, too, since they all come integrated with it.
- akinder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Excellent article and tutorial. This is what I think of when I think of a good 'blog' post.
- xswag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Hey finally an article on the front page of Digg with the word AJAX in it that really is a great article about AJAX.
Thanks, very diggable article! - danski, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Good article. We develop with prototype and it really does help us spend less time debugging and more time adding features.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3Sure the amount of code can be reduced, with some things like adding the Page.module.js code into the engine (reduces open connections), reducing the code with tools, and compressing it with gzip.
The goal of the example isn't to be fast, it's a demonstration that shows the capabilities :-) - appletalk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7What an awful pic on the header...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ok fixed, had to set session.use_only_cookies in the ini...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That's true as I just found out now, PHP seems to jumble up my links, with its PHPSESSID-Crap...
Trying to fix it... - ComputerGuru, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Digg++
Nothing much to comment on though, it's just an awesome article that covers all the points. Good job Snyke! - CortalUX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Great ideas; way better than piecing it together yourself- especially with the amount of testing time it can take.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Try using JSON to encapsulate the data, then download it and show it into two different divs. Any way of encapsulation works, XML too :-P
- neurokaotix, on 10/15/2007, -1/+1For what it's worth, I enjoyed the read, downloaded the code, and wish to explore it further ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I surely will :-)
- neurokaotix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Anyone else worried about the 160kb of Javascript that gets loaded per page. Isn't one of the "cool" things about AJAX is that it's supposed to reduce the amount of data transfer a server has to perform?
- Sneedly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Very nice write up Snyke. Thanks.
Anyone have any ideas about how you could use this "Engine" to load two div ID's simultaneously (with different page data)? That is, without making two server requests (to avoid a double latency hit)? I'd like to be able to update both the "content" and "sidebar" div's with one click. - kozmo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Definitely digg-worthy! Nice artilce, takes the mystery out of AJAX.
- MellerTime, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Heh. I thought the same thing. Reminds me of those creepy clowns at the circus... yikes!
- ttntyler, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7Anything with "AJAX" in the title gets dugg to the front page
- quirkey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Nice tutorial - but the demo just isnt working.
- axecore, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0AJAX w00t :/
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4i write code......and i fall in LOVE!!!!!

http://www.shoutcentral.com - microlog, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1where can i read more about this?
- sfouladi, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3Nice... AJAX is easy now!
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/15/2007, -16/+3AJAX will be easy when Adobe Dreamweaver comes out in 2007 with easy to use AJAX tools, until this time it is the tool of choice for geeks and that means I like it.
- h2d2, on 10/15/2007, -27/+6How is this on the homepage without a single comment...
