- humanchimp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2MeasureI, editCSS, cookie Crumbler and clear cache button are all incorporated within the Web Developer extension.
- gummih, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Neutralized comments!
- multifaceted, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Personaly, I'm getting tired of being told what extensions I 'must' have.
- Techn0tic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No digg, seing as at least 3 of the extensions listed duplicate functionality available in the web developer extension. Seems like padding in order to make it a list.
- fatjoe151, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks for this, it helped
- kibou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Actually, being a full time web developer, I actually discovered a couple of these I didn't have.
Useful...Dugg...If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. - satanicsocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kinda useful, but SessionSaver's more of a must-have imo!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have pretty much everything I need, so almost none of these "best extensions ever" lists are of much use to me. No small thanks to having an RSS feed to extensionmirror all this time hehehe :D
- aznboi04k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they couldn't add more to have 10 extensions?
- btipling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, I made the front page. :/
- abusey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I kind of agree with the people who say there are too many of these being submitted, but every now and then i catch a new extension, so it's worth it. thanks
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I cant use firefox extentions anymore ='( So no Digg,
- vermin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's more like, 1 must have extension for web developers, and 8 other ones that might be useful occasionally.
- mrtweed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Handy :)
digg - coolwasabi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This not Engadget's site.
Sure, it's part of Weblogs Inc., which Engadget is a part of, but it is NOT Engadget. Pay some respects to the source material man. - surrelmar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Seumas grow up.
this post is for other people very useful. I'm not the kind of nerd that browses on mozdev everyday. - meefman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I routinely use coral cache to bypass school filters (2 years and counting!)
- dlogic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0good digg
- jimtez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1clear cache button is a good feature. must Digg!
- kowgod, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Sometimes I wish digg set a limit to the number of stories a user could digg in a day. I get the impression that sometimes people will digg any story they read. Hell, I would even guess there is a certain percentage of people who digg a submission based solely on the summary description and not based on the content of the article.
If users were limited to a certain number of diggs a day, I think this would seriously reduce the number of good-but-not-front-page-worthy stories that make it.
Don't get me wrong. A lot of this stuff is kinda neat, or amusing. But come on, it's not necessarily critical that hundreds of thousands of people see it. - spectre_25gt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm impressed. This is the first list of this type that actually has good extensions. digg++
- qbic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Absolutely dugg, I didn't know MeasureIt and EditCSS, but now I just can't live without!
- SCARECR0W, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmm.. Actually three of those, are redundant... since their functionality is already incorporated into the Web Developer Toolbar. (MeasureIt, editcss, and cookiecrumbler)
And if you are a web developer, and do not already know about the Web Dev toolbar, then you need to turn in your web developer membership card.... - ThePhilomath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HTML Validator https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=249&application=firefox
Highly Recommended, simple extension! - Gnascher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1TubaTech ... are you a developer?
Most good Devs I know these days (myself included) write standards compliant code which largely "just works" for the browsers that have been updated over the last 5 years, and then hack as necessary for proper display in the one browser that hasn't had an update in 5 years (IE).
So that means most devs are doing most of thier work in Firefox, and checking for back compatibility in IE. That makes the "View in IE" extension useful for some. Personally, I don't muddy my Firefox with that extension ... I just open IE. - prerunner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks digg
- stalinvlad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hmm, nothing above or at "useful"
And a CSS Blog?
Is that a blog written in CSS or a blog ABOUT CSS?
Is there an HTML blog? - N3wtR0ckn13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0installed, thanks!
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Because majority of users us IE, its a good browser."
There seems to be some faulty logic going on here; just because most people use IE doesn't make it any less of a POS. - simd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very useful. Digg++
- Gnascher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@scarecrow ... agreed.
The web developer extension has totally revolutionized my workflow.
Regarding FireBug ... it's good when I'm using it ... but it doesn't stay "turned off" for some reason when I'm not. So every time I have a popup window, I get that extra 'frame' at the bottom ... that's a little annoying. - Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm pretty sure most of them digg it based purely on the title, or because others have.
- rYno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Okay... You've GOT TO HAVE this one.
http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/
it does a lot of what the other extensions do but all in one badass little extension. - Bobafettjm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really like the Colorzilla extension, I will be using it quite a bit.
- av4rice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Boy what a redundant list.
And Weblogsinc beat you to the punch two and a half months ago with a much better list:
http://www.digg.com/programming/9_must_have_Firefox_extensions_for_web_developers
No digg from me. - Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I take it you're not a web developer?
- mike_p, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah... just because everyone uses Microsoft Windows (most people anyway, incl myself) doesn't mean it's the best OS... I can atleast admit this. I'm waiting for my new HD so I can start merging over to linux for everyday use and use MS only when I game and when I need to test compatibility for web sites (IE6/5)
- vagrantradio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use the web devoloper extension on a daily basis. Kicks ass.
- wmarcello, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Although not a firefox extension, the free app Colorpic is much better than Colorzilla. You can grab colors from anywhere on your desktop, not just in Firefox. You can also save entire groups of colors as palettes.
http://www.iconico.com/colorpic/ - Simply, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1A couple in here that I didn't know about. The live http headers extension sounds interesting. :)
- mingistech, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2IE fans go absolutely bonkers whenever Firefox is mentioned.
JOIN THE BORG YOU DAMN OUTSIDERS!!! - Kissitfatty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Seumas has got a very good point its like all the usless apple stories, my word but still im not critisizing since stories get to the front page because they are popular.. im just not shure why this one is...
- Fly1m1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Nice to know.....digg
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Seumas you need to chiilax. I found these very usefull. Digg :D
- subway18223, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Seumas does not need to chill!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2the IE view.....its really really stupid. If you're a web developer, you're going to develope websites for IE users, not Firefox users. Why? Because majority of users us IE, its a good browser.
- gorilla, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0And this made frontpage how?
- frontpage, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2GOD DAMMIT ANOTHER SUBMISSION HAS MADE IT TO THE FRONT PAGE! This is unforgivable!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3ENOUGH!
We do not need a "top x firefox extensions" list every ***** week!
Not to mention, how can you not know about all of these if you've spent any time browsing through mozdev.org in the last year?!

What is Digg?
