- chanop, on 04/17/2008, -0/+13Remember the days when you'd enter the word "Mathematics" in a search, and get nothing but porn for results?
- NJank, on 04/17/2008, -0/+12mathematics is code for porn. searching for that is like asking the concierge for extra pillows...
- uncouthyouth, on 04/17/2008, -0/+10More companies should follow Google's lead in the "separation of church and state" between services and revenues. If the marketing people weren't always sticking their weaselly heads into engineering's business, products would be superior and the business would benefit. I also liked his response to the human-assisted search question, human-assisted search is a stupid idea and tweaking the algorithm is a much better method of improving searches.
- Steinr, on 04/17/2008, -1/+10I am sure they could have gotten a better picture of him though.
- Bigcat151, on 04/17/2008, -2/+11Money gets him laid
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -2/+10you not so much.
- sUGArDawg, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7People actually search for "mathematics"?
- somespecial, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5When webmasters were complaining to stanford, that some strange bot was crawling their pages, it was a concern. Stanford would get thousands of complaints each day, until they told Sergey to move his search engine off their servers.
- spinaltap87, on 04/17/2008, -5/+9But can he run Crysis?
- cawpin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Don't, it was U of A.
- sUGArDawg, on 04/17/2008, -6/+9Guru Udi Mander? WTF are those words?
- plokij909, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Hold a mirror up to your monitor... Red Rum.
- HonoredMule, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3I hereby renounce my title as Grammar Nazi. It's prestige and honour has somehow been lost in a war no longer fought for principle, but glory.
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2damn it i came here to post that !
- rompom7, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Errm... I don't think NJank was trying to be a grammar Nazi.
Good work though, on sounding like a complete jackass. - webcrumb, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2/wonders how many people are typing 'mathematics' into Google right now...
- MonsterMonster, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Ahh, the good ol' days.
- HalfGiraffe, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Ah. So that's what people meant when they said "I enjoy mathematics".
- serif69, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2That explains why I never got my pillows...
- maninalift, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I don't get what this has to do with Dune
- Karmavs, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2@Jektal — Yes, it_could_mean that. My point was not that it couldn't be read that way; but rather than NJank was correcting someone on their own misinterpretation of a grammatically correct, and not particularly ambiguous sentence. i.e.: being a troll.
- P522, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Someone better tell him to fix Google Scholar. Searches like the ****. Terrible searcher! Unless you are looking for products Google actually sells.
- UdiMosayev, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Udi is such a great name..

- nicheprof, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0This thread is a good example of Stumble Upon Spam and it fails to really focus upon the value of the information revealed by a prime mover in the SEO field that are useful for serious marketers and developers to keep in mind.
- Yodwinder, on 04/17/2008, -0/+0The biggest threat to mankind.

- Jektal, on 04/17/2008, -3/+1"as well as for forming possessive nouns"
So... "This man's genius" == "this man is genius" OR "the genius of this man", no? - Karmavs, on 04/17/2008, -5/+3Congratulations, you fail at grammar Naziism.
1. He didn't use an apostrophe. The correct thing to attack would be his poor attempt at pluralising the word.
2. Apostrophes are used for contractions, as well as for forming possessive nouns. This man's genius = This man is genius. - photohunter, on 04/17/2008, -4/+2The worm is the spice! The spice is the worm!
ARGHHHH! - miguelandres, on 04/17/2008, -5/+2Moron. Have some respect.
- NJank, on 04/17/2008, -6/+2what about this man's genius?
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -10/+2This mans genius.
