- Synergy14, on 10/11/2007, -2/+57This is a ridiculous and obvious attempt to cover up whatever it is that goes on in Dick's office. He works for the people even if he doesn't want to admit it. We have a right and a need for transparency.
- EntropyMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+55If Cheney wants to claim that his office is not a part of the Executive Branch, that's fine by me. In that case, I guess _Executive_ Privilege does not apply either.
He can't get the protection of the Executive without adhering to its own rules.
Subpoenas under armed guard, FTW - rm999, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26"In January 2007, the Information Security Oversight Office took the appropriate step under the executive order and asked Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resolve whether the President’s order applies to your office. According to the Director of the Information Security Oversight Office, you responded to this request by recommending that the executive order be amended to abolish the Information Security Oversight Office."
WTF? I can't believe Cheney hasn't been Impeached for his repeated law breaking (and being an *****) - fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23Exactly, damn those pesky liberals and their investigations into corruption and crimes at the highest level of government. We don't have a right to know about it at all.
/sarcasm - ZWarren69, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19OMG, they could so impeach him! He can't pick and chose what applies to him.
- zweben, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17If you believe it to be inaccurate, by all means explain. But don't just say "It's thinkprogress so it's a lie."
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16@bob: Making sense is not what you got buried for, idiot.
- Tawni, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Can we impeach him now please?
- chi1thook, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13I didn't know Haliburton quarter profits were classified, thanks.
- edrift101, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11When will someone think of the kids and shoot Cheney in the face?
- Godlike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Actually that was the House Resolution 2755 thread.
And uh, who exactly is on the "Liberal Good Squad"? Are you the leader, since you made it up? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7in terms of bigger *****? then yes, Cheney > Nixon by far
- Jerim, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7It is times like this that we realize just how fragile our ideas, principles and even our way of life really is. No one is ever going to call the Bush administration on these things, because to be honest, the next guy in office wants to be able to have the unlimited power for himself. It's so sad that Democracy in this country is dying quietly.
Let's just take all the partisan rhetoric out for a second. Let's just sit down and really think this all through with out all the chest thumping on both sides. I think when you look at it calmly and rationally, there really is very little hope. That isn't a partisan statement. I don't consider Bush the end all and be all of the problem. It is the media that says nothing, the congress that does nothing, and the people who see nothing that are all part of the problem. Even if the next president is able to undo a lot of the harm, they won't be able to undo it all, even in 8 years. It takes two good years to negate one bad one. It is going to take at least four terms of good presidents to get us back on track and I just fear that we can not string together four consecutively good terms. At least one of those terms is going to be under someone who damages the progress. - bking, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Where the hell has Congress gone? There's supposed to be all these checks and balances, keeping ***** in line. It seems like the only people who have any balls in DC are the people using their powers for personal gain.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6the right wing strung Bill Clinton up for getting a blowjob, and you have a problem with the simple notion that the current executive branch be held to the checks and balances that are the very backbone of our government's structure? Please cite something real in defense of Cheney, or I'll just assume you ARE Cheney. Who else would actually defend this?
Oh by the way, I'm a Republican. I'm NOT a Neo-Conservative. They just make me sick. (RON PAUL '08!!) - Godlike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I think we may be missing a point... obviously he was wrong not to comply with the investigation, but the single most important question here is what does the VP have to hide?
- truspector, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9@bobcrotch
Ever think that these guys and ten major corporations own ALL of TV media? Consider your source. - MforMike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5if the files that are on my computer are open to the government then Cheneys files should be open to me, or at least the government.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+5Cheney's never worked for US. Honestly, why would ANYONE choose Cheney as a running mate if they didn't have to?
"You want us to buy, cheat, steal you the presidency? Then meet our insurance policy. He'll tell you what our agenda is in good time. Meanwhile, enjoy the perks, Mr. President." - knomevol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5we have a right and a need to get angry and kick his anti-constitutional ass out
- zweben, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Cheney > Nixon
- Jambi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yeah, sometimes I get the impression that most people on this site have a 2 second attention span. Oh well, at least this time, the title's far more accurate.
- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Dick also exempted himself from Vietnam, while at the same time, proclaiming to be a supporter. Weasly piece of *****!
- supaklaw, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Everyone does realize this is a breach of national security and can be easilly classified as treason? At the very least Carl Rove (who pulled the same trick by using Blackberrry, yahoo, and hotmail accounts to hide emails from investigators) and Cheney need national security priveledges yanked.
Is it 2008 yet?
:::looks at watch, wonders how much more these gremlins will shred up as we leave them in office::: - Godlike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3He was chosen as a running mate because he basically financed the election. Bush did not have a chance in all hell without Dick.
Just, like, as a little note, however sophmoric it may be, and however much I completely overuse commas, Bush and Dick is still funny. :) - usrlocalbin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@bobcrotch:
After reading your comments on this story, I really wish we could digg someone down 50 times instead of just one. - carpespasm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4you have to use a long rope to make sure the fall breaks his neck, though if you used a short rope he'd just strangle to death... hmm, guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.
- terracottapai, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This is already on the front page, ffs.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3The man at the helm of the military on 9/11. Who was in an underground bunker and knew flight 11 was coming towards the pentagon. And he did nothing. They knew and did nothing. That video is available on the web meneta testifying in front of the 9/11 sold out panel.
The problem I have with people who believe the governments version of 9/11 is that now after all this *****, we know that bush has undermined the constitution, lied and is guilty of treason, just so as dick cheney has, and people still have a hard time believing these idiots would not be conspirors in a plot to start a never ending third world war.
Bush put the9/11 commission together. These guys are willing to ***** on the american people and the constitution, kill hundreds of thousands of people over lies and yet the excuse to do it all is 9/11. And you dont think they wouldnt lie about that?
The same people who own the media own the banks and own the oil. Tri lateral commission. The united states is a joke.
While we complain about our leaders lets complain about complacent citizens. If there was going to be another revolution, it would have happen. It is a matter of time. Soon we wont be on the internet, we will be on a government proxy server as our web history is being monitored by the government. What a great ***** place to be. Got to love the greatest country in the world. - liquidjamm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Do you REALLY think it's going to be over with a new prez??? Coooooooooomooooooooooooooon
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4It's sad that politicians choose to consciously ignore their role in government by not keeping the other guys in check. The Congress has the power to impeach people for a REASON. And here they are, saying, "Oh no, we won't do that, it won't accomplish anything and we want to move forward." ***** THAT! Do you ***** job! If laws have been broken, you are practically REQUIRED to discharge the duties of your office and begin the impeachment process. If you are unwilling to do that, RESIGN. This goes double for that ***** worthless Pelosi and her entourage of brown-nosers.
- spearce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3i exempt my office too. Hooray Beer!
- metasense, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Cheney will beat 'em to it.
I hear he's handy with shots to the face. - Godlike, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3No sight in all of washingdom is as horrid as the paper shredder pulling up to the white house.
I think we should have sync'd recycle bins on any federal computer... /recycler/ is a network share that is backed up and investigated. - civperc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3In regards to people who think a new president will change things, refer to The Who...
"meet the new boss... same as the old boss" - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Of course, I mean you wouldn't think the man was LYING about anything or attempting to COVER UP deception or THEFT or HIDING INFORMATION that could lead to his ARREST as a TRAITOR and see him doing time for PERJURY and actions that could lead to him having CONFLICTS of INTEREST and a HIDDEN AGENDA...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2If you call cnn and fox and msnbc news, then i would rather read the dailykios than propaganda from a bunch of sell out twits. Do not define my source for news, i live ina free country. And im tired of giving a *****, so go ***** yourself.
- wheresjim, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hmm, now what happened in 2003 that could make the Vice President's office look sloppy when it came to how it handled classified information?
Hint: his former chief of staff is looking at prison time for the ancillary cover-up - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You can not vote out money. You can not vote out fraud. There is no hope. Wait for the end. It is near.
- metasense, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The soul he sold for the deals he made.
- aaronroe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2ABC NEWS BLOG: http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/06/cheney-power-gr.html stfu you dumb mutha...
- SecularG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I have always enjoyed watching revolutions on TV. Might be time to have a homegrown effort.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2they'll all get there day. Maybe not today or tomorrow but they will get it.
- Jambi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Well, I assume what he's hiding is evidence of what a great many people already suspect, that President Bush isn't particularly intelligent, and Cheney's been doing his best to manipulate both the president and public opinion to suit his own ends, and that much of our current policy in key areas has been unduly influenced by him.
- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2EVERYBODY is a liberal? Wow.... we truly are a force to reckon with. Maybe it's you who is so extreme and out of the mainstream. Ever wonder why you are soooo alone? Awwww... and you truly believed the right wing was the majority.
- diggitdawg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You want change - vote out the asshat incumbents and vote for lesser name candidates.
- ZWarren69, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Damn, news to me.
- BrewmasterC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That first video is eerie. Almost like Tienanmen square with tanks overrunning civilians in the heart of D.C.
- RavenFox, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1So sad. I still and will always love my country despite the turds we have in Washington now. You guys know the saying, "If good men do nothing.."
I say give the next president a chance and vote. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1More proof that a jackass is available for comment on digg almost all the time. You are the most unbelievable example of partially intelligent human excrement I have ever seen. STFU, you liberal ignoramus.
Also, you respond to a post about a blog with a link to a blog, real ***** smart there sparky. -
