- SpudgeBoy, on 10/12/2007, -14/+75The only way the Republicans can win is by lying, cheating and stealing. Because that is what Jesus would want them to do.
- ThugEsquire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Let's just hope the Congress that ends up winning is far better than the current one.
- dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24True, but were does meth induced sausage hide and seek come in to play?
- Ulisses, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21So Democrats would be harassing and misleading THEIR voters...
Yeah, that makes sense. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19"True, but were does meth induced sausage hide and seek come in to play?"
Usually at their secret victory party after-party. - GabrielS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7If the elections that are allegedly tampered with are Federal elections, then of course the FBI is going to investigate. Tampering with a federal election is a federal crime, thus the federal police investigate it.
- jgtg32a, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9And the J dept is already scheduled a trial for voter intimidation against a democrat in Mississippi.

that took me 4 seconds. you guys really need to be force-fed, huh? - Quactaur, on 10/12/2007, -10/+15Source? That's utter *****. The Republicans are an evil evil party. While their top brass may have pragmatic elements (i'm certainly not talking about Bush), the lower rungs of their order are hypocritical bastards who deserve nothing in life. Makes me real angry.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14No, it wouldn't be funny.
- ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Also gonna depend on if he's white, black or latino. I'm gonna guess since he's sure he'll be ok that he's white and republican.
- PopcornDave, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7@thedrunkmonkey
Well, all the same people could come back. That would be worse. :) - fsumus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5As a registered Virginia voter, I really hope this isn't true. It's not just bad for Republicans, it's bad for Congress and our government.
- PopcornDave, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7@spudgeboy
Amazing! Simply amazing!
Before the FBI has had a chance to determine *exactly who is responsible* you've whipped out your crystal ball and saved them the effort of an investigation. There's a whole lot of cold cases at your local police department that could use that kind of insight...
In all seriousness, the state officials have done the right thing. They've called the FBI to investigate. And when the guilty party or parties are tried and convicted they deserve to do some *serious* jail time.
However, you do everybody a disservice by immediately claiming one side or the other is at fault for election shenanigans until you actually have proof. If everybody keeps crying wolf, then the time it really matters nobody is going to care. - stevenb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@jellygraph and everyone else saying republicans are evil and democrats are evil.
LOL I don't think this is what our forefathers had in mind when they created the party system.
I also think that alot of our problems with corrupt politicians would be solved by incorporating time limits in congress and senate.
Career politicians have ruined the united states, and you morons that hate other people because they're a republican or democrat are ***** RETARDED. It's almost as stupid as hating a black guy cause he's black. - EBAR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hello, I'm republican and I also live in Minneapolis. Now you've met a republican! I however don't think you're a bad person simply because you disagree with my viewpoints...
- pauleku, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8uhh. there are federal investigations in which democrats have done similar things as well. [in several states/occasions] I hate how democrats think they are so perfect and pure while they are hypocritical and condescending...idiots.
- GabrielS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Hotair blog has posted an official DNC guide from the 2004 elections that says "if no signs of intimidation techniques have emerged yet, launch a 'pre-emptive strike'".
Has the DNC changed their official party playbook for 2006? You decide.
http://hotair.com/archives/2006/11/07/flashback-democrats-urged-pre-emptive-voter-intimidation-in-2004/ - applehill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why do people post allegations. There is no known truth behind this yet. I guess we'll have to wait to see what the truth is.
- dhakbar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Perceptive.
- geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Interesting that the FBI gets in on it, they can do things like pull phone records. You know that the people doing these phone stunts never think that the FBI will get involved. Woops.
- appetite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I didn't post this story. I just took a more proactive approach to your whining than you did.
- shaggytn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3So much generalization in this digg. 1 bad apple spoils the whole bunch!?
Wait for the FBI investigation to show where the guilt lies. Unfortunately, this will take some time & the polls will be long over. There probably should be a re-vote & have it overseen a little more closely.
Side Note - Maybe Allen & his staff have nothing to do with it & maybe they do. Maybe Webb & his staff have something to do with it & maybe they don't. The answer is we don't know; so, just go & vote regardless of what a phone call tells you. Questioning why you can't vote somewhere is valid & can be checked out easily. Just go. - mavantix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Freemasons. Duh, they run the world.
- Kithkin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Care to link to a few reports of democrats doing the same thing?
Because all I ever see is news about republicans. And all of them have the same comment: The Dems do it too.
No, they don't. At least not on any kind of scale that matters. - fsjonsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dead democrats who continue to vote outnumber dead republicans four to one in new york.
http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061030/NEWS01/610300318/1002/NEWS - inchrnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so, if it turns out that sen allen or his staff are behind this, does he lose his senate seat? hypothetically, what happens?
- oddmanout, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4i've never heard of that. do you have a source or more information?
- phytonix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Republicans are macaca.
- Greyhaven7, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8I live in VA, I'll let you guys know if they intimidate me on the way to the polls. =)
Something tells me everything's gunna be ok... - Kithkin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There are republicans in New York?
Anyway, the article is more about highlighting a potential for abuse rather than suggesting that there is abuse. The article implies poor record keeping is to blame, not any effort on the part of the democratic party. - jgtg32a, on 10/12/2007, -8/+8
hey hey now this is digg we don't need any main stream credible news sources - pevail, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Who is investigating FBI shananigans?
- mavantix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1VA voter here, and when I voted this morning, the only people speaking to me anything political was the sample ballot lady, who was probably handing out sample ballots with all the democrats checked anyway. I just told her "No!" and kept walking. It's not like a Democrat has a chance in hell winning in this state anyway. Hello, it's Virginia!
As for the republican campain, all they did was mail be a flyer last week. That's not exactly deceptive. It sure as heck didn't lead me to the wrong voting location, after all I know where I'm registered to vote at.
If you're a Virginian and listen to a political party representative as to where to go to vote, you need to move to an island where they put retarded people, or at very minimum have your right to vote taken away.
If for some reason you've had your mind erased by one of those all powerful politicians, or are a new Virginia voter, here's where you go to find your precinct (and your voting location):
http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/cms/Voter_Information/Where_Do_I_Vote/Polling_Place_Lookup_request.asp - jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Republican politicians and fanatics are evil
- archiesteel, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Greyhaven7: Well, that depends, do you intend to vote Democrat or Republican? :-)
- markp93, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5if the dems don't win I'm moving to new zealand.
- jonathono2000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I think your a bad person but not because you disagree with my viewpoints but because your viewpoints are stupid.
- pauleku, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3actually they have done similar things with this election.
- trenchcoat, on 10/12/2007, -10/+7So who is winning the front page war right now thinkprogress or kos?
- pauleku, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3one less idiot bitching about stuff they dont seem to understand correctly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6I dugg you because you made me chuckle.
- trenchcoat, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Then post from a source like Forbes and not a biased site like kos and thinkprogress. Then maybe people will take the story more seriously.
- TheDrunkMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3I think there is nearly a 100% chance of that. I really don't see how Congress could get any worse.
- drewlander, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4wow, thinkprogress, 100% unbiased. Flagged for inaccurate.
I dont see an article about any other irregularities from any other party. Guess ALL the problems with the machines favor the republicans. Oh wait, I have a brain:
"Republicans in Passaic County, N.J., complained a ballot had been pre-marked on some machines with a vote for the Democratic Senate candidate; the state attorney general was looking into the matter."
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061107/D8L8F4A00.html
You guys are really need to read the articles that are posted, and get a mind of your own. Politics are a dirty business vote for the candidates that have most of your view, not just because they are your party. - GabrielS, on 10/12/2007, -11/+5The correct answer is: Stormtrooper Activists in the Democrat Party.
- trenchcoat, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
