- FadieZ, on 05/17/2008, -9/+134A picture's worth a thousand words. And I dugg every word.
- inactive, on 05/17/2008, -3/+85I love how the mock-article of this submission hit the front page before this did...
- ryanonfire, on 05/17/2008, -17/+65LEAVE MR.BABYMAN ALONE!!!
- Terr01, on 05/17/2008, -2/+43Never gonna digg you up. Never gonna bury you down.
- McShr3dd3r, on 05/17/2008, -5/+44Then the US pays China back?
- nickthedude, on 05/17/2008, -5/+43***** THING SUCKS!!!!
- diggnate, on 05/17/2008, -8/+41It's funny because it's so true. Here's a thought ... if letting us have more money stimulates the economy, then why not a wholesale tax cut of monumental proportions? And how about cutting billions in wasteful government spending so there's no need to make up for the shortfall?
Wouldn't that be a novel idea. Oh wait, that's retro-America. Seems like progressives haven't actually progressed the country all that much. Quite the opposite, in fact. - mark076h, on 05/17/2008, -3/+35it would be perfect if both of these stories hit front page at the same time
- mheisel, on 05/17/2008, -1/+27Yeah, because then people would be able to read your comment twice.
- masfenix, on 05/17/2008, -1/+25I dugg you up, then I dugg you down, and then I dugg you up.
Then I dugg all the words you dugg. - thehawk23, on 05/17/2008, -1/+23The irony is that the Digg one hit first.
- netdroid9, on 05/17/2008, -0/+21Never gonna turn around and report you.
- Mononuclear, on 05/17/2008, -1/+20Not to mention it was on reddit yesterday... Mr.Babyman just trolls reddit and posts to digg what was made popular there.
- consoneo, on 05/17/2008, -4/+19They can dangle all the 1 dollar bills above my head that they want, as long as they keep putting fivers in my back pocket. Who doesn't love finding money in their jeans?
- inactive, on 05/17/2008, -4/+18l also like the msnbc cartoon where a Chinese man delivers a $1200 check to an American family, then says "you owe me $1200, plus interest".
- freakguy54321, on 05/17/2008, -3/+15mr baby man doesnt have a life guys...i mean seriously think about it...his life is devoted to digg he needs to get a job and maybe some therapy.
- jaychuck, on 05/17/2008, -5/+17I'm sick of ***** submissions from BabyMan. Take a break, bro.
- gavintlgold, on 05/17/2008, -0/+9What's interesting is that his popular ratio is only ~28% or so... He just submits way too many stories (>8,000 so far).
- tehAleksandrRox, on 05/17/2008, -1/+10a bunch of idiots dancing on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash
- JayCruz, on 05/17/2008, -2/+11Oh man, if this passes the 1000+ diggs that the other photo sub has, the hate level for Mr Babyman will be unprecedented.
- IDIGTHEDIGG, on 05/17/2008, -4/+12HAHAAHH this is on the Front Page right along the other one making fun of it lol
- xBreakdownx, on 05/17/2008, -2/+10i buried this one and dugg hers up
- y2kbg, on 05/17/2008, -1/+8A++++++++++++
- InspectorGadget, on 05/17/2008, -3/+10Picture doesn't mention the fact that YOUR tax money, given back to you months or years later, earned interest for the government and not for you: that $600 is more than it appears on the documentation the government sends you.
- DownkeyKowng, on 05/17/2008, -1/+8Haha he's *****.
- Terr01, on 05/17/2008, -0/+6You might enjoy this: It's an animation showing the money flow for the social security debate.
It may not be directly related to "economic stimulus", but it's basically the same principle shown in the picture when it comes to tax cuts and breaks.
http://digg.com/business_finance/The_social_securi ... - reeder, on 05/17/2008, -0/+6Not before the banks get their cut.
- Netrilix, on 05/17/2008, -0/+6I don't think he's done Digg justice until he has submitted over 9,000. Then we all get to make our stupid "OVER 9,000" jokes, and his role here will be complete.
On a more serious note, I've never been bothered by the guy. I'm sure he's gotten a few stories to slip through the weren't really front page worthy, but as far as I'm concerned, most of the stuff he gets up there is good content.
Edit: A 9,000 joke and defending MrBabyMan in the same post. *braces for impact* - SteveIsTheDude, on 05/17/2008, -0/+6We'll do it Live!!!! We'll do it live!!!
- Versh, on 05/17/2008, -0/+6Haha, trying to make that O'Reilly meltdown an internet catch-phrase? It has potential...
:] - NinjaPirateDude, on 05/17/2008, -1/+7OH MY GOD
The coincidence just exploded my head! - vyko, on 05/17/2008, -3/+8First of all, "Progressives" haven't been the ones sending the country trillions of dollars further into debt for 6 of the past 7 years, nor can we consider the man holding the veto stamp now a Progressive, nor do we really even have a Progressive majority in Congress right now. We have Democrats, which is merely a step in the right direction.
Second of all, cutting government spending is the last thing you want to do during a recession. Ask Hoover how well that worked in 1929. - b-dizzle, on 05/17/2008, -0/+5Damn it, now that's stuck in my head.
Subliminal rickroll? - BeyondDisbelief, on 05/17/2008, -2/+7Macroeconomics is inherently unintuitive. The theory behind economic stimulus relies on the money multiplier. IIRC a single dollar exchanges hands about 7 times in a year's time (Joe pays Stan $1, Stan now has $1 more that he can buy stuff from Bob with, Bob spends that $1 on beer from Moe, and so on.. this $1 counts as income to each of these people).
If it costs the gov't $1,000,000,000 to finance the economic stimulus, at a multiplier rate of 7 GDP is expected to grow $7,000,000,000 (assuming people spend every dollar of the stimulus). With an average tax of say 30% for simplicity, the gov't gets $2,100,000,000 back in form of taxes. Gov't makes more money the it spends. - mikephimikephi, on 05/17/2008, -1/+6Check your address bar.
This ain't wikipedia - govsucks, on 05/17/2008, -0/+4Yeah, that is correct except they forgot a step. The step where write a check back to government for ALL of my "stimulus" check plus about 2 times more for my current taxes. After I sent them a check they sent me a check so I could send it back to them. Do you get it yet? Government SUCKS! This is the same government that threatened me for two years over back taxes for a house I purchased in 1965....I was born in 1972. Think about it and realize once again....government SUCKS!
- ftw420, on 05/17/2008, -1/+5OMG, how true!
- diggthis123, on 05/17/2008, -4/+8I know this is unrelated to the cartoon but this is economically related - gas prices wise. I suggest that everyone do a search for "the real price of gas". There is a bi-partisan report put out in 1998 about the real prices of gas and the governmental subsidies placed upon the oil industries.
Here is the link for the PDF file, which is about 43 pages long and completely worth reading/skimming. I hope nobody blocks this message or places negative diggs next to this, but the findings of the report are very interesting and quite shocking if you do not know them already. My hope is that someone can digg this who is popular enough for it to gain front page attention, so I urge anyone to try and do so. This is an awkward way of making a post, but I figured that this method might get some much needed attention about gas prices and the governmental subsidies towards the oil industry.

"Taxpayers who chose to have their tax preparation fees deducted from their federal tax refund will receive their tax rebate in the mail, not via direct deposit. "
NOW YOU TELL ME, after checking my checking account every day since may 9th! - SealandRes1, on 05/17/2008, -1/+4Isn't that what's happening right now?
Lower your taxes, so you'll spend more, but at the same time increase inflation of the dollar to rob everyone behind their backs. - Misinformant, on 05/17/2008, -0/+3That makes 2 of you.
- TekTrixter, on 05/17/2008, -1/+4I like big diggs and I can not lie

/head asplode - Arkons24, on 05/17/2008, -1/+4You can over-simplify a problem and then sardonically berate it all you want -- it'll never make you right nor prove you have true understanding of the problem at all. In fact, it will just prove to most people that you're an idiot.
- juggalofr33k, on 05/17/2008, -0/+3they already sent it to you and you already gave it back to them in taxes.
- seabass341, on 05/17/2008, -1/+3um... he has a job, moron
