- normlsparky, on 01/11/2009, -15/+175This can't possibly be the full list. He still has 9 days left.
- zenbud, on 01/11/2009, -11/+141It is so important to continue to point out how inept this human was at the most powerful job in the world. He and his cronies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars attempting to rewrite history. Not only for generations to come and to make sure his name in infamous, but to prohibit another shrub from gaining office! Who are the 28% that still think he did a good job??? Are they all mental???
- freedomjoe, on 01/11/2009, -14/+107Well, despite his best efforts, he failed to bring about End Days, so I guess the Right might see that as his largest failure. Then again, he has 8 days left.
8 days.
Will we make it?
Don't let these as* clowns rewrite history. EVER. Stay vigilant. Tell your kids the truth. Spread reality like a virus. Maybe it will take. - drmangrum, on 01/12/2009, -1/+79The people who think he did a good job fall into a few categories:
1) Long time republicans who think their party can do no ill. Usually elderly, and their family has been republican for generations.
2) Religious nuts who implicitly trust anyone that invokes God. In their minds, anyone who does so, must have divine providence. After all, who would willingly call down the wrath of God?
3) Those that have become obscenely wealthy off Bush's policies. I don't mean legitimate military contractors ( Lockheed, Northrop, Boeing, etc) have all had legitimate contracts for years. However, Haliburton, Blackwater, and such are different animals altogether.
4) The uninformed. Many would be surprised that a lot of people simply don't KNOW what he's done. I was shocked when I learned my mother had never heard of the torture, illegal wire taps, etc. I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of Fox "News." - inactive, on 01/11/2009, -11/+85On disability claims:
"The spike in applicants from an aging baby boomer generation, staff cuts, and management problems all contributed to a cumbersome operation; individual cases took an average of more than 500 days to process in 2007. In the meantime, hundreds of thousands of people pursuing disability claims have been forced to wait as long as three years, with some going into bankruptcy, losing their homes, or even dying while waiting for a result..."

If you want to know more about those homeless folks out on the streets asking you for food, here it is. - Echota, on 01/11/2009, -16/+81I believe there will be more to come!
- inactive, on 01/11/2009, -12/+76A complete list will look like the Encyclopedias Brittanica.
How about funding big Pharma, big Brother and big Business all at the expense of Americans... the fact that all 50 states are now all simultaneously bankrupt, Paul Wellstone, etal., Eliot Spenser FBI arrest to cover-up and noise-over impending news he was about to break on administration, stolen elections, media bias/black-outs/distortions/lies, supreme court firings, politicizing of supreme court, theft by fraud w/fed complicit.
We can throw in the 35 reason listed in Dennis Kucinich's impeachment that included, but are not limited to the Valerie Plame disclosure, Posse Commitatus, 9/11 False Flag Coverup, Blackwater, Haliburton, stolen elections, gutting the constitution, granting immunity to phone companies and more.
It will take years to compile the dirty deeds of this administration. - scottknick, on 01/11/2009, -5/+67Wait, only two failures under Health? What about Medicare Part D, which caused chaos among senior citizens and -- by forbidding the government to negotiate on drug prices -- represents an enormous transfer of wealth from the taxpayers to the pharmaceutical industry? Which was enacted by blatantly lying to congress about its costs?
And that's just off the top of my head. FDA failures to ensure drug safety belongs in this list too, probably not under "consumer" because the coziness of the GOP and Big Pharma is a major public health failure. - allowners, on 01/11/2009, -18/+74Bush's reign is the triumphant climax of the Ronald Reagan "revolution." Welcome to serfdom.
- tfosorcim, on 01/12/2009, -2/+53The guy did manage to dodge two shoes and also created daily material for comedians.
- acrodev, on 01/12/2009, -4/+52I thought the list would use up my entire comcast connection's 250GB limit for the month.
- freedomjoe, on 01/11/2009, -8/+53adding this quote from the article:
"
White House
* Controversial Assertion of Executive Power
* Excessive Executive Secrecy
* Signing Statements Thwart Congressional Intent
* Vice President’s Office Exempts Itself From Information Safeguards
* Executive Office of the President “Loses” E-mails
"
Please make it stop... - MediaWeasel, on 01/11/2009, -7/+48That's the frightening thing - that this total of 128 represents those that were picked from the hundreds. And he leaves office having completely screwed up the economy and overseen the slaughter of thousands of innocent people in the Middle East.

Executive Office of the President “Loses” E-mails - Phylter, on 01/11/2009, -6/+40And where was Congress during all of this? Cheering him on. One lonely voice, Dennis Kucinich, was ridiculed because he (foolishly) admitted he saw a UFO, so that got HIM outta the picture.
- treehugger87, on 01/12/2009, -5/+38In how many ways should we repeat "we are not like you?" Faithful liberal Americans kept a close eye on Bill Clinton and were more than willing to criticize him. We are critical of Pelosi and Reid and there will be a LOT to be critical of when Obama is President. We are not sheep like the Bush followers of the past 8 years.
- tonberryqueen, on 01/12/2009, -2/+35A lot of people who wouldn't have voted for Kerry are disgusted with Bush now. Why do you think his disapproval rating is so high?
My father is a lifelong Republican foolish enough to vote for Bush twice. He held his nose and voted for Obama, because he didn't want a flawed Republican party and fundamentalist idiots like Palin to run things like this anymore. - jsffive, on 01/12/2009, -6/+37If that's restoring integrity to the Presidency, I'd rather have the guy lying about sex, thank you very much...
- snakeseare, on 01/12/2009, -7/+38He did one good thing: he destroyed the republican party.
But seriously, you can't blame dubya for anything, he was just another sock puppet for the neocon right wing, and the most blatant sock puppet of all. What other president took 80+ days of vacation in his first 8 months in office? - emailowndme, on 01/12/2009, -2/+32DID YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY GET STUCK DOWN TOO?
OR DID YOU FORGET YOUR /S? - presidentraygun, on 01/12/2009, -3/+31I think you're all just misunderestimating him.
- torressr3, on 01/12/2009, -9/+36Nice...
How many of these mistakes were made AFTER HE WAS ***** REELECTED!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot second run Bush voters!!!! - Skywise, on 01/12/2009, -7/+34It'll be so nice to see Digg so watchful of the Obama administration in the same way...
- inactive, on 01/12/2009, -0/+26They forgot the $12 billion on pallets supposedly sent to Iraq and lost.
- tonberryqueen, on 01/12/2009, -0/+26Don't forget the cuts in mental health services that have been going on for years. I think it was during Reagan's administration that they shut down a lot of facilities and just dumped the people on the streets because of funding cuts?
I volunteer at a day shelter in Boston, and a surprisingly large number of the people I serve are clearly on the streets because of this lack of mental health services. - jstowell, on 01/12/2009, -10/+35One more:
Failed at winning the White House without the help of the Supreme Court - tonberryqueen, on 01/12/2009, -1/+25While I'm glad that he's given AIDs funding to Africa--I'm thrilled he's pushed for it so much, really--he also shut out clinics that even mentioned the word "abortion," whether they actually perform them or not. That's incredibly pigheaded and short-sighted, because it is depriving clinics that provide valuable treatment services of necessary funding just because they let women know that a particular option is open to them in terms of reproductive planning. You can read more about the Mexico City Policy here if you're curious:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico_City_Policy
However, I do give Bush major credit for what funding he has given.
If you want to talk about a big success, talk about his work pushing against human trafficking. That's one of the few things he's done that I respect. - athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -1/+25You did see the last election right? I think a couple more people joined the "Kerry voters".
- emailowndme, on 01/12/2009, -1/+25this guy is hilarious, he's like the digg version of loud howard, check out his comment log, lol
- LJSeinfeld, on 01/12/2009, -4/+26"but-but-but --- Clinton!"
meh.
I get a kick out of the way the right-wingers can simultaneously credit Reagan/Bush with Clinton-era success while charging Clinton for Dubya's failures. Seriously.. is ANYTHING ever their fault? - kemp34, on 01/12/2009, -0/+22Good list. I agree with your assessment.
- Alheithinn, on 01/12/2009, -0/+20First rule of leadership. Anything that happens on your watch is your responsibility.
- asgardshill, on 01/12/2009, -4/+22A moment of silence please for the shredders at the White House. These unsung mechanical heroes are running 24/7, giving their all to keep a soon-to-be former President out of jail. Never before have so few done so much to protect so few corrupt political careers.
- ator1, on 01/12/2009, -1/+19Too bad he didn't prevent that one on September 11, 2001.
- Nidy1, on 01/12/2009, -1/+19I'm going to go ahead and guess that this is sarcasm.
- souljaboytellem, on 01/12/2009, -3/+20I don't know, I hear they call them "Republicans"
- presidentraygun, on 01/12/2009, -0/+17It's all part of his strategery.
- mtnmusicman, on 01/11/2009, -2/+19As old George has said, " The proof's in the puddin"
- Alheithinn, on 01/12/2009, -1/+18What jobs did Bush create that he did not also take away in the end. In what way did he make us safe? 9/11 occurred on his shift. That's not my definition of safe. It didn't happen on Bill Clinton's watch. And terror deaths are up across the globe since 9/11, not down.
It's easy to criticize when we don't know the whole story, true. But it will be even easier to criticize once we do. - zklopman, on 01/12/2009, -2/+18One big success: he managed to get elected the second time. In spite of all the "successes" of the first term.
and most of you helped him do it. - inactive, on 01/12/2009, -3/+19it's the go-to response from you bush apologists....b-b-b-but clinton.
that was 8 years ago. what we're discussing now is what happened DURING the last 8 years.
please try and keep up with the class. - Alheithinn, on 01/12/2009, -5/+21I can't get this site to open. Don't know if they've exceeded bandwidth limitations or what but it's just a black screen (and I have a good FIOS connection).
I'll pretend instead that's a list of Bush's accomplishments - a blank page. Which, by any rational, unbiased standard, is accurate.
I'll have to try to take a look at it later. - DangerCollie, on 01/12/2009, -1/+16First, good for you volunteering at the shelter. Second, you're exactly right. The savings sounded good back in the day, but we all end up paying for homeless on the streets anyway. We pay in higher costs at the hospital, more homeless being warehoused in jails, higher crime rates because dangerously mentally ill people out in the world without their meds. It's horrifying and saddening to see in person. The state of mental health care in the US is absolutely terrible.
Then there are the douchebags here who complain about parting some of their tax money to help those people. I'll bet if those armchair pundits ever got out and worked the streets a couple days, they'd have a whole new attitude. Instead of parking their fat ass in a recliner and not getting any more exercise than nodding along with Rush Limbaugh. - onehandhigh, on 01/12/2009, -0/+14Actually I was the one who prevented the attacks on the 12th, 13th, 14th, etc...
Prove I wasn't!
/s - Alheithinn, on 01/12/2009, -0/+14Those trailers were purchased right after Katrina. There is a big company locally that experienced a financial boon as a result. Even if some were (and I don't know that any were), they weren't all aging, ancient trailers.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 01/12/2009, -5/+19You are missing the point. Those losers are light weights compared to Bush. Or do you work for the MIC or China?
- Alheithinn, on 01/12/2009, -0/+13Congress is culpable, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -4/+17I can hear the anti american right praying for failure from the Obama administration.
