- F9Phoenix, on 11/15/2007, -19/+86This is true innovation in the gaming space. It's about time Sony starts to get recognized for how they really are the ones thinking outside of the box and pushing creative ideas forward. With ideas like this and Little Big Planet, the true potential of the PS3 is now coming to light for the public.
- michaelb1, on 11/15/2007, -6/+64How long will it take for someone to photo their penis and use it in that tank game.
My prediction is about 2 seconds after I get the game and the PS eye. - Synthesize, on 11/15/2007, -5/+47That's actually really impressive.
- FatBaby, on 11/15/2007, -2/+37Man I want that tank game and that moon lander game with online right now
- fallenone05, on 11/15/2007, -6/+38The PS3 is a technological gem
- shadyacres, on 11/15/2007, -6/+33I'm a 360 fan, but *****, this is ***** cool!
- rusty123jimi, on 11/15/2007, -3/+28Yea...I think this last year of bad press is blinding many people from seeing whats good with PS3 and what potential it has...its kind of sad really. I mean...I think PS3 has some good stuff they need to be recognized for.
- Xephyr, on 11/15/2007, -4/+20I'm thinking they should tighten up the graphics a little bit on level 3.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -0/+15I'm sorry but it needs to be longer if you want it to be detected as a turret
- NightVortez, on 11/15/2007, -2/+16This is one of the more interesting things I've seen done with video games, now turning them 3d and actually integrating them into a game such as LittleBigPlanet would really blow me away.
- shavenlunatic, on 11/15/2007, -1/+14you've ALL seen his *****? wow, he gets around a bit...
- NathanielJ, on 11/15/2007, -2/+15That's why it's called a tech demo...
- TangentThought, on 11/15/2007, -2/+14Wow. Didn't see this one coming for uses with the PS Eye. I'd be playing that tank game endlessly if it were to be released.
- pussieLicker, on 11/15/2007, -7/+18Don't lie and admit it guys, this is really fukin cool.
- DarkDx, on 11/15/2007, -5/+16Nintendo innovates too (controls) but microsoft.... not so much. THey go by the safe.
Dugg down by stupid inmature ***** fanboys in 3.... 2.... 1... - Managua8Green, on 11/15/2007, -5/+15hm... thats kinda gay, I"m not gonna lie
- LilJimmyNordin, on 11/15/2007, -2/+12No. "Drawn To Life" isn't anything like this, apart from the ability to draw inside a template and have it animated. Oh, and it's a bore.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -4/+13Wii isn't new. I've had motion sensing for years. Theres even a PS2 sword controller for Onimusha where you wave it around to swing it in game
- charlescheese, on 11/15/2007, -2/+11I agree, if they released those tech demos on the PSN, I would go out and buy EOJ right this second.
- LilJimmyNordin, on 11/15/2007, -0/+9You're too late. There's already a game for the PS1 called 'Tiny Tank'.
- stuartevan, on 11/15/2007, -3/+12That's ok, i'm kinda gay.
- Hobbes24, on 11/15/2007, -4/+13is it weird that the first thing to make into a tank i thought of was my own penis?
- charlescheese, on 11/15/2007, -1/+10Nothing special because...Sony is the only one doing it? If Sony is the only one doing these things, how is not innovation?
- rusty123jimi, on 11/15/2007, -2/+10yea...actually it is...
- dandonia, on 11/15/2007, -0/+7didnt you see them scan the toy tank and it looked cool
- CLShortFuse, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6What gave you that impression. Was it the fact it's on playstation.com?
- JazzClutchkick, on 11/15/2007, -6/+12That would definitely steal some sales from the Wii
- santasing, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6Its not viral marketing. Its on Sony's playstation blog.
- santasing, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Its on the official Playstation blog. Take off the tin foil hat right now!
- pooper, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5What do you mean "viral?" It's ***** SONY's BLOG.
- gomvents, on 11/15/2007, -2/+7I'm normally annoyed by all the video game "news" that hits the front page of Digg but this one is pretty cool.
- DollaDollaBill, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Well, MIT was demoing it a couple years ago, now the technology is being used by nerds at Sony, soon it will be used at the consumer level. Their is interesting potential, quit your bitching.
- thailand1972, on 11/15/2007, -5/+10It scans in objects, cuts them out, and places them into simplistic gaming environments. I'd like to see some more sophisticated uses of this.
- inactive, on 11/15/2007, -2/+6yawnnn
- MattPil29, on 11/15/2007, -2/+6Amazing.... For those techies who want to build their own interactive stuff checkout the ArToolkit (http://www.hitl.washington.edu/artoolkit/). It uses webcams to find known patterns printed on cards it then calculates the relative position of 3D computer models and sticks the two together... This is especially cool if you send the image to a HMD.
- santasing, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4Well I'm waiting.
- rusty123jimi, on 11/15/2007, -4/+8Well....I hope my PSeye has some good use for in the future! This looks awesome!
- santasing, on 11/15/2007, -0/+4You are about 3 months late. Read the troll manual again.
- Shaflugi, on 11/15/2007, -3/+7Doesn't stop it from being cool, though.
- shadymilkman13, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5friggin sweet, think of the options, on-line you could share your level designs eventually make full flashed based games. This could revolutionize the 2D game market. and according to the comments apparently the 2.5D market
- ig33k010011, on 11/15/2007, -2/+5i noticed they said this is something that MAY come in the future. i hope this posting and all the comments shows them that we want this... SOON!
- gd1z, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3Penis jokes are always funny, unless you're a woman.
- dandonia, on 11/15/2007, -3/+5guys the wii's main selling point is not the inovitiveness of the controls though they are cool, the reason the wii sold so much this year is because it was far cheaper than any other console and it meant parents could get their kids something that was encouraging them to excercise while they play for cheap. In comparison to other consoles the wii didnt fell like you were buying a console more of an addon. I dont know anyone that doesnt have kids that ownes a wii.
- Thing2, on 11/15/2007, -3/+5Now that's something that would make me consider buying a PS3 - not simply because it's innovate ( though it is) - but because it's not being done on ANY other system or anywhere else in the gamespace (as far as I know.) This is the kind of stuff Sony needs to compete - I'm all for these things coming out - however, I don't think they'll see the light of day. Hopefully this team stays on the payroll.
- triplehelix, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2then i assume you don't think the wii-mote is innovative either because it was done before right?
- ig33k010011, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3i posted this and i have no relation to Sony, not even a fanboy.... just think it's cool
- leerayIG88, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3Playstation eye?. My Eyes are drawn to these eye candy videos. Eye bet this will make a lot of sales on the Eye-market. Eye will defiantly keep an eye on this. Eye will most likely purchase this game. Eye......
- deadnoob, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3there is also a news section
- daridave, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Yeah, right, just like people tought it was insanely innovative with the Eye Toy detecting movements. Ever heard of a company called Logitech? They've been doing webcams since forever, and their software can do the exact damn thing. Now, like I said -- I AM NOT saying what SONY did isn't innovative -- what I'm saying is the guy is an idiot to claim that "It's about time Sony starts to get recognized for how they really are the ones thinking outside of the box and pushing creative ideas forward." Read: "really are the ones" . He's talking about them being really the ones, meaning the other ones are not. If you agree with that, you are just as wrong as him. Nintendo's been innovating since longer than half of the diggers here have been playing games! I'm not preaching for any particular company, I'm just wondering why the fanboyism is still on. I'm happy with owning everything, I just wish people would stop favoring a company over another for dumb, stupid reasons...
- harreola, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1Did you not see him create his own map on the moon landing game? Each new map is a different game.
