- dngermouse, on 11/24/2008, -0/+95Dugg for being on one ***** page we're all gonna get carpal tunnel from those other ad-money hungry cheap game sites, and for actually being an INFORMATIVE article. Best i've seen outta the game section in quite some time... I've only heard of maybe 3-4 of those titles.
- fredrockbluff, on 11/24/2008, -1/+44dugg for not assuming i know what PS2 means
- joehobbes, on 11/24/2008, -0/+39It's official: PS2 owners will never be bored.
- mister331, on 11/24/2008, -0/+33Dugg for Psychonauts
- EdwardMass, on 11/24/2008, -0/+25dugg for Mr. Mosquito.
- 3uster, on 11/24/2008, -0/+18It's weird how Persona 3 FES is on that list, I assumed everyone knew about it. However, Dugg for mentioning Jade Cocoon 2, was one of the best RPGs for the PS2 as was the original Jade Cocoon for the PS1.
Also, PS2 is still alive, I'm looking forward to two RPG's coming out in December, Persona 4 and Ar Tonelico 2. - stewacide, on 11/24/2008, -0/+17ICO is just an incredible, incredible experience. Unlike any other game, except Shadow of the Colossus of course.
- TotalHalibut, on 11/24/2008, -3/+18Dugg for having God Hand on that list. Do you have balls? Then you should own a copy of God Hand. No excuses.
- medfreak, on 11/24/2008, -1/+15And that is exactly why Sony ***** up with ripping out the retro PS2 compatibility in the new PS3s. Try to get your hands on the earlier PS3 models if you can.
- KyleMistry, on 11/24/2008, -0/+12Dugg for Ico.
Cute, tragic, depressing, and surprisingly complex if you look deep enough into it. - Colimus, on 11/24/2008, -1/+13Ico is seriously one of the best games ever.
- DMXell, on 11/24/2008, -1/+12Digg me down all you want Diggers, I still think the PS2 cleans house with all the next gen consoles solely for the fact that it has one heck of a fantastic library.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -0/+11You did miss it - in the first part about ICO
"One of the earlier PS2 titles, Ico is an epic adventure that serves as the spiritual predecessor of the late PS2 blockbuster, Shadow of the Colossus"
Plus it doesn't qualify because unlike ICO it sold ***** ***** loads. - emptyo, on 11/24/2008, -0/+8Dugg for some really killer research and a nice article ALL on one page. I don't have a PS2 anymore, but if I did, this post would have been Christmas. Thanks fellah.
- verkon, on 11/24/2008, -0/+7Killer7, one of the most awesome games ever made. Love it.
- roxya, on 11/24/2008, -0/+7How is SOTC undiscovered? Shall we start asking them why they didn't list God of War 2 or Gran Turismo 4? :)
- Trax91, on 11/24/2008, -0/+7It could mean P/S 2 for the keyboard y'know..
- fluidfoundation, on 11/24/2008, -0/+6why don't these people sleep under the covers?
- Shuk, on 11/24/2008, -0/+6I wouldn't consider Okami mainstream, as the article somewhat implied. I know it was rereleased for the Wii, but it never picked up in sales, much like the first one. To most gamers it would be a lesser known gem to check out. It's easily in the top 5 games for the PS2.
- Melodik, on 11/24/2008, -0/+6Thank you for clarifying what a Playstation 2 is, sir.
- Ender17, on 11/24/2008, -0/+6This is why I bought a PS3 with backwards compatibility
- thegoldenavatar, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5The fact that Psychonauts didn't sell millions of copies is a travesty.
- Elranzer, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5RPGs don't necessarily take place in Earth, so the historical accuracy of swords vs rocket launchers do not apply to them.
- metapop, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5DARK CLOUD 2
amazing action RPG.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNJzzioHOWw&feature ... - daxter241, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5Dugg for Zone of the Enders the 2nd Runner
- zaffir, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5Great, this article has just doubled the stack of games that I've been meaning to go back and play at some undetermined date in the future. Wonderful, just wonderful...
- allisonaxe, on 11/24/2008, -0/+5japan only. i never modded my machine, nor have many, many people, so its not really a safe game to recommend.
- joehobbes, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4Amen -- preach it!
- ahk057, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4I love Mr. Mosquito!
- TiMMY8765, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4that's the type of game this gen needs. it seems like all we have are shooters, racers, and RPG's
- ZWarren69, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4Way of the Samurai was awesome.
- Stinger911, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4Still can't believe IGN gave it a 3.0. I couldn't find this game at Blockbuster or any local game stores, so I signed up for a Gamefly account just so I could rent it. Damn... I ended up keeping that game for about 2 months. Great game.
- Elranzer, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4It's no wonder no one has really moved on to the PS3/360/Wii generation yet. No human in the normal sense could possibly have finished playing all the games they need to on the PS2 yet.
- inactive, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4Actually it's also for PS2
http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-kzl-71-r-77-1- ... - TotalHalibut, on 11/24/2008, -1/+4IGN a ***** idiots, they wouldn't know a good game if it hit them in the face.
- twodollars, on 11/24/2008, -1/+4well
DLFUEKSKWODPFJWWJD - Stinger911, on 11/24/2008, -0/+3God Hand, Killswitch, and Robot Alchemic Drive -- three of the best, most overlooked games I've ever played, and this list had all three. Very exhaustive and useful list. After you play God Hand, you will wonder what the IGN reviewer was smoking (he gave it a 3.0).
- mleh, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3... or get a PS2.
- wristpull, on 11/24/2008, -0/+3...What is wrong with you?
- articroll, on 11/24/2008, -0/+3One of the best games list's i've seen somebody compile, that was well thorough, plus 'Transformers (not the movie game)' bought a smile to my face on both counts.
- sarchosis, on 11/24/2008, -1/+3Drakan was a terrible game
- i4ybrid, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2Robot Alchemic Drive was freaking awesome. It's the best in two player mode when you make the robot destroy a building your friend was on. then stomp on him =)
Psi Ops was freaking awesome too. Think of the Force Unleashed with guns....mmmmm - cloviejr, on 11/24/2008, -3/+5Dugg for Robot Alchemic Drive, buried for Indigo Prophecy. Man, that game was *****.
- Zeigy, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2OMG my PS2 library is about to be doubled.
- wolfboyZ, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2That's it, I have to check out The Red Star.
- phillykid162, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2Obtained metatron!
- Nobi-Wan, on 11/25/2008, -0/+2Dugg for having Mark of Kri and mentioning Shadow of Rome. Those games were brutal but ridiculously fun. You'd never think that MoK was a ridiculously violent (and fun!) game because it looked like it was made by Disney.
Shadow of Rome was also fun but *dragged* because of the stupid stealth parts when you play as the kid that dies in one hit. The gladiator sections was so freaking awesome, though. I was REALLY hoping for some online gladiator bouts where you could chop each others arms and heads off. - gglynn07, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2ZOE 2: The Second Runner was freakin' awesome. I've heard that they are thinking about a 3rd and I can't wait. Beating the game was satisfying, but playing through multiple times w/ a super powered Jehuty and Zero Shifting is just very satisfying.
- joehobbes, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2It did have a Greatest Hits release, so that's gotta mean something...
- wukillabee, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero >>>
