    Almost all those games are worth owning. That's a killer line up of games! There's also some other pretty solid titles they didn't include like DMC4, Soul Calibur IV, Folklore, Hot Shots Golf....how could someone say the PS3 doesn't have any good games?

  • theaverageidiot, on 07/31/2008, -11/+39When people say the PS3 doesn't have any good games, they usually mean any good exclusive titles. GTAIV, Orange Box, Oblivion, Assasin's Creed, Rock Band, Bad Company, Skate, and many others are for the 360 in addition to the PS3.
  • GlitchEnzo, on 07/31/2008, -16/+44Since I already own a 360, I viewed this list looking for games that would cause me to buy a PS3. Unfortunately there weren't any. Sure, there were some great games on the list (Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Rock Band, etc), but I already own them on my 360. I'm not a fan of the Metal Gear games, so MGS4 doesn't appeal to me at all. Uncharted sounds interesting though.

    What would cause me to buy a PS3? God of War 3, LittleBigPlanet, Flower, and most importantly - the next Team Ico game. (developers of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus)

    Not PS3 hating here, I love mine (It's sitting on top of my 360 right now.) But there aren't a lot of good exclusives. But hey, MotorStorm, Warhawk, Resistance and MGS4 rock for me. I just wish there were more.

  • epyon180, on 08/01/2008, -1/+16What is so hard about pressing start and skipping the cutscenes, MGS4 is a great game not because of its cut scenes (which can be an acquired taste) but because of its great graphics, variety filled gameplay, and the care that the developers put into every single aspect and area in the game. There are more than 20 hours of solid gameplay (not cut scenes) in the game and that is a lot more than most games I have played recently. Yes I own a 360 and yes I play it all the time but I am not the lease bit disappointed after buying the PS3 because I think that MGS4 is one of the greatest GAMES (not movies) ever made.
  • GlitchEnzo, on 07/31/2008, -10/+25Hmm I don't remember that. The PS2 launched with 29 games, some of which were TimeSplitters, Dynasty Warriors 2, Dead or Alive 2, Armored Core 2, Tekken Tag Tournament, etc.

    As far as I recall, the PS2 from the start always had a good selection of games.

    I don't think this list was intended to sway 360 owners over the the PS3. Here's hoping someday you find a reason to buy one. It's a great system and will only get even better.

    Don't even get me started on 360 and their supposed "exclusives". PC ports aren't exclusive.

    Granted, there are quite a few more games I have to pick up.

    Is there some kind of a conspiracy of the 360 getting more exclusives now? Ever since the launch of the PS3 about 90% of the library for both consoles became multiplatform, then a very limited amount of first party titles which were exclusive, like it or not it's pretty split down the middle..

  • KielKilla, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1045 minutes? Now your just pulling stuff out of your ass. Just for reference the MGS4 install times were under 5 minutes. Once installed onto the HDD the gamespot/loading/EVERYTHING will load much faster then off of a disk. Think logically.
  • DaHuuuuuudge, on 07/31/2008, -4/+14Assassin's Creed was fun for the first few hours, then it got kinda boring, I gave it back to the friend I borrowed it from, and haven't really missed it since. I'd say it's a pretty good game overall, but not a must-have for any system.
  • coheedcollapse, on 07/31/2008, -5/+15If you include downloadable stuff, there are definitely 24 games worth owning on the PS3. They might not all be exclusives, but they're still worth owning.

    Just today I picked up Pain and Pixeljunk Monsters for $5 each (which was COMPLETELY worth it), and Pixeljunk Eden for $10. I'll be playing these games for at least the next few weeks.

    Why It's Great: Picking between the PS3 and 360 versions of Rock Band is pretty much a toss-up. The 360 has a better online structure, with DLC available days (and sometimes weeks) earlier, as well as a larger pool of opponents to battle against, but those benefits are dwarfed by the PS3's packed-in wireless guitar. You may be able to buy wireless guitars for the 360, but the wired one that came with the game will always haunt you. So do yourself a favor and pick up the PS3 version to avoid all that.
