- shinythingy, on 10/10/2007, -10/+62***** sake wageslaven do you do anything but troll and bitch about anything that isn't Microsoft? If this was coming out for the 360 you'd be all over it, and you'd say "I don't care what the reviews say" but when it comes out on something other than the 360 we must pay attention to reviews like they were written by god.
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -5/+44Would you get over yourself? You really have no business making comments on a system you don't have and a game you'll never play.
It's a great game, by-the-way. - WhereAmI, on 10/10/2007, -9/+44One of these days I am just going to start reporting Wageslaven as offensive. That day will be when they add a report as useless option.
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -4/+30It wouldn't be a PS3 Digg without wageslaven chiming in with his positive and unbiased opinions :p
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -4/+28You have to realize, guys like wageslaven can only afford one console, and then have to live with the constant fear/buyers remorse of spending their money on it. Their only recourse to self-justify their purchase is to constantly run down the other consoles (and those who chose them). Its just a self-image problem, suffered by a few.
The vast majority of gamers do enjoy reading about and playing on the multiple platforms, and can appreciate the various benefits each has to offer. So don't be too sad :p - gutterboy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+28I had no intention to buy this game until all the buzz started these past few days. IGN's review is dead on. Wildly fun game that will easily have you parked in front of your TV for many hours. I don't know why so many people have to bash a game. It isn't like you all had to pay for it no matter what. Moreover, all the bashing comes from people who don't even own it.
Bottom line, if you own a PS3 buy this game. I promise you will have fun, and last I checked that is why we play games.
Side Note - IGN game Battlefield 2 an 8.9. - GreyICE, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22@wageslaven - blocked as useless fanboy. This is simply too much. DIAF troll.
- MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20Sony is a HUGE corporation that has brought many of the conveniences we know and love today to us. They have some less then reputable branches, but as a whole they're no different then ANY other corporation.
- Konrad9, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21Just ignore the fanboys, they feed off your "logic"

And look who is throwing off the average. PSM Magazine the favorite magazine of Xbox lovers everywhere, yeah the same people who gave Lair horrible reviews.
PSM subscribers are cancelling in droves. The person running it now is the ex-editor of the Official Xbox Magazine and the company that owns the Official Xbox Magazine also owns PSM.

http://forums.gametrailers.com/showpost.php?p=3875188&postcount=1 - TWillz, on 10/10/2007, -6/+23I downloaded it yesterday and played until almost 2am this morning. In a word: awesomeness! Also, the price isn't bad at 39 bucks.
- triplehelix, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20seriously. they gave it a 65%, the only review below the 80% line. if that doesn't scream bias i don't know what does.
- DreamVsPs2, on 10/10/2007, -4/+21If you have a PS3, you must buy this game. It's amazing. It's like BF2 in air.
- DiggedyDoo, on 10/10/2007, -5/+21I'm an Xbox360 owner who is not afraid to say that man, this games looks like a lot of fun.
- logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -8/+22only negative anyone has said is that it's multi only and has some balancing issues. From what I've seen it looks like a great multiplayer game. I do see how some people find the lack of single player a issue.
- rinks, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Word of warning- don't download this if you have more than one profile on your console. It will ONLY work on the "master" profile that downloaded it. Meaning, if your roommate/brother/whatever wants to play it on his profile, he will not be able to.
- sadilak, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14The World would be better off if you did not exist.
- jrbrewin, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16he trolls pro ms threads too. he's just a very angry, and confused young man/woman/redneck.
- MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Me and my roommate play split screen for like 8 hours strait last night -- we both had blood red eyes after that... This games crazy -- it's not really that unbalanced either if you learn how to fly, sure turrets are annoying -- but they don't move.
- apoc06, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13the difference is that PSM is an unofficially sanctioned magazine. meaning that they get no direct sponsorship from sony. that means they can write whatever they like about the ps* systems. publishing official xbox magazine means that they are an officially sanctioned publication that MS has decided will write articles in the best interest of their products.
you cant be truly independent if you are receiving corporate support for one magazine, and then you publish another magazine about your benefactor's main product rival as well. they call that conflict of interest. - Cerialthriller, on 10/10/2007, -6/+18no review from sonydefenceforce.com yet?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Wageslaven, somehow you've become nothing more than an anti-PS3 troll. I own both systems and I don't understand your incessant need to flame bait PS3 owners. This is a good game. Let the PS3 fans have their day. What does PS3's success do to you anyway?
- vinht426, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Hey... this kinda explains the huge Gears of War ad that was in PSM last year...
- EDmAN, on 10/10/2007, -13/+24You know its really sad that fans of the 360 can't get over the fact that the PS3 has a game that got some decent reviews. I guess you all wanted it to get a 6 or 7. Look you might as well get used to it, the PS3 has a great line up, maybe not as good as the 360 this year, but the PS3 will rock come mid next year. I'm getting Warhawk retail version as soon as I get out to the store...
Oh and I'm hearing Lair doesn't suck that bad after all.. - totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Dude, this is like the 20th time you've thrown out your "resume" and "happy adjusted life biography" on Digg to "justify" your comments.
1) No one believes you
2) No one gives a *****
3) Nice try, though :p
love,
Bill Gates :p - RapeApe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11After that PSM review every good Warhawk review is getting Dugg. Probably because of quotes like this.
"I've never played a game that got a 6/10 or less from a reputable publication, that was ever any good.
Don't kid yourself people, this game will suck." - m00nstone - vodkagunblast, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13This game is utterly fantastic! Perhaps the best online game I've played on consoles in years and one of the best uses for the PS3 so far.
I personally think this game should come bundled with the PS3, once the word gets out that would help push systems. It's that good. The art design, balance, sound and variety are phenomenal. Makes me ache for Twisted Metal Next...(Warhawk shares the developer with Twisted Metal Black on PS2.) - Zoids, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Didn't sony make the first widely available transistor radio?
- fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Let's see, on MetaCritic there are 6 review above 84, 4 below. This is the kind of thing you should expect when looking at an AVERAGE.
- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11@dobbinmon
Read my 3rd link on my original post and see what else he said. The dude is an Xbot much like yourself. Maybe if you took your Halo helmet off for a few seconds you would see the facts for what they are. - Aadain, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I would give the graphics a 8/10. They could be better, true, but they aren't horrible. They just didn't spend all their time making a "pretty game". They made a fun game that has decent graphics. I've seen games (not on the PS3) that have had some of the best graphics imaginable but were ***** to play (boring story, too short, bad controls, etc). I'll give up a few points in graphics if the overall package is actually fun to play.
- FENWAYFREAK, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11"don't see an xbox defence force website out there ***** on ps3 games for the childish sake of it."
ever heard of digg?
Warhawk is a great game. PSM is obviously the odd man out with the review, no matter who runs it. Its an anomaly. - xBBx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12If you've never heard of CVG, then you are the one with the problem.
- crzdmn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Bought it the PS Network the day it came out. It's sweetest game for PS right now in my opinion, definitely if you are only looking at online play.
- crzdmn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9LOL, no $40 for a game, adding single player is a waste of time and resources. Most people would play it for a few minutes and stop and play online for the better experience. Plus I haven't EVER played a game that is this smooth online with 31 other people, NO LAG that makes it worth it alone.
- MiDri, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9The games graphics are a little cartoony, but they are crisp and clean -- the game is packed into less then 900mb! Unless they are using some kind of uber procedural texture & geometry generator they have done a great job with the amount of space they take up. I'd say after total decompression the thing can't be more then 2-3gigs (if that!)
- trentasaurus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Shadowrun for 360 was 60 dollars i believe and multiplayer only. Plus in my opinion Warhawk is more fun, although 10 bucks cheaper wouldn't have hurt.
- b3owulf, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I agree with you, crzdmn. It's not "$40 for a multi-only game", it's $40 for a game that seems you will never get bored with. They made a game focused on pure fun online gameplay, and succeeded.
- MWeather, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9BF2 has planes, too.
- staticneuron, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Hey wage..... 101 games out of 261 and 30 out of 72?
Ratio wise how is the PS3 doing? - xboxing, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12The game is good. Period. I've been playing the last couple nights and can't remember the last time I've had so much fun playing online.
(XBL: mothra, PSN: Prothean) - jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10It doesn't take a genius when half the posts about PSM on Playstation forums are people saying the magazine is run by Xbots and they state they are cancelling their subscriptions. Read the comments in the second link I posted on their own site:
Comment from DJ John - "I'm considering cancelling my PSM subscription. It’s bad enough that they hired someone who stated in a professional interview “Xbox will Kill PS2 (teehee)” to be the editor-in-chief of a Playstation Magazine,..."
Comment from AngelsPlague - "How can I seriously justify continueing to pay money to a magazine when the man over-seeing its production thinks the PS2 is a joke? I’m giving until the November Issue before canceling my subscription which I’ve had since December 1997."
Comment from Kanodin - " Wow.. I am glad I canceled my subscription now all the contradictary statements etc. I don’t feel like being treated like I’m stupid specially not when I’m sinking my money into a magazine that I have been for so many years. I have been a subscriber since the very first issues of the magazine were released. It’s sad that after all these years thats all going to end. " - kingfoot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6bioshock and doom 3 to name a couple... "love it or hate it" but i found bioshock very generic and boring.
- DollaDollaBill, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Ummm.... Unreal Tournament 2004, all multi player, Onslaught. Paid fifty bucks for it and played it more than vice ***** city. It has happened before.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7...okay. The PS3 has less games and is not selling as well as the Xbox...do you have a point? If you don't own the PS3 then what the hell does one systems success mean to you anyway? What do you want? Do you want to see the PS3 die? To what end?
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It gives him better games than he'd be getting if Microsoft - given their track record of laziness and consumer gouging - had no competition.
- joeroot1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5you're a *****

I see you like to shyt on PS3 owners with more or less antagonizing news on the current state of their system. I own a PS3 and I'm happy with the system. I have a degree, kid, mortgage, yada, yada also. But, if you are going to present the negatives of a system, present the positives also. I won't say anything biased about either the 360 or the Wii. They are great systems for their market. The PS3 is a great system for its market also.
The PS3's market sluggishness is attibuted to two things: price and mangement. The system itself is excellent for what it does and the uses it has. It's a durable machine the plays games well and it plays blu-rays well. Sony took some forsight and dropped HDMI, blu-ray, built in Wi-Fi, etc. from the door. Peolple don't like being forced to take a package with ingredients that they don't ask for, but in reality, the package works out well. The software now has to catch up. This will happen in 2008 when the system should see upgrades in online content, games, and XMB features.
As developers figure out what the system is capable of (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184843 and http://www.ps3vault.com/mark-rein-ps3-comparison-on-new-unreal-engine-3-2059) and what they can do with it, then better content will be available for the system and the numbers will take care of themselves.
As for the two problems that the system has that I mentioned in the beginning: price and management? Sony is adjusting these problems. Many people think that the Playstation heads are causing the rukus, and to some extent they are. But you have to look at the conglomerate's leadership. Sony isn't the market leader in many of the electronics they produce like they used to be so they are making adjustments to see what works and what doesn't. They need money out of the PS3 now, so they cannot buy exclusive content like Microsoft can. What they are doing, however, is refining their dev kits and using software consultants to help developers make programming for the CELL processor better and more understandable (I'm not sure what happened with Madden '08 because Madden can move units. I would've sent some consultants to Tiburon to make things better, but this is part of the learning that Sony must go through).
I would expect the 360 to have at least half of the US speding market (since the 360 isn't doing too well in Japan) since it has been out over twice as long as the other two systems, but contrary to what you believe, that is changing. The Wii will soon have more systems sold than the 360 total worldwide (check Microsoft's own E3 '07 presentation. Peter Moore said it himself). Developers are already working on projects to bring to the Wii to capitalize on this install base. On the PS3 side, Sony will use the PS3 to not only play games and movies well, but expand and do other things. This is where management has to be careful in not neglecting their gamer base. The system has the goods to make a given developer's project look and play exceptionally well from what I've read and experienced. As time goes on, coding for the CELL is refined, time spent on projects goes down and even more developers, smaller developers, well be willing to create games for the system. This is from what I've read and expereinced with the system.
So, for you to say: "The market for Xbox 360's is a significantly larger one than the PS3. And there is no sign of that changing. 3rd Parties are not going to spend more money to achieve the same or lesser-results, for a smaller market." I have to disagree because of what I've just explained. Microsoft's market is shrinking as the Wii and PS3's market expand driven by developers willing to understand and code better software to run on these two systems and create better software. Microsoft can buy exclusives and developer studios, but they cannot buy them all. As more 75% and better games come out, other smaller, independent developers will get inspired to create "interactive artistic expressions" to match or be better than previous projects for these systems. Just as directors, actors, musicians and producers do in other forms of media.
Wageslaven, do you own a PS3? a Wii? I'm pretty certain you own a 360. My neighbor has one and it's great. I can't hate on it, even with the issues (red rings) he's had to go through to enjoy it. You are not being as objective as you mislead others to believe you are. Your facts only paint a one-sided picture because you don't even talk about how well the Wii has be selling. I haven't played it, but for it to sell nearly as many units as the 360 in less than half the time, something is there. The numbers don't lie, right? So stop spitting your biased, half-assed reasoning on why the PS3 will never do well because the fact of the matter is that all three systems will do well and the consumers win because they have varied choices of a luxury item that people 3 to 103 (older people may just watch :)) can enjoy. Stop being a dick, pissing other people off and let them enjoy their game and keep your fanboyish, biased "stats" to yourself.
Thank you. - etgoboom, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8This is a ps3 game that doesn't need defending
