- terraamb, on 04/10/2008, -2/+46Hopefully HOME is not far behind!
- nrose101, on 04/10/2008, -2/+36DTS-HD here we come! Finally!!!!
- xomp, on 04/10/2008, -3/+36I downtalk game systems to feel better about my life.
- AvidPreatorian, on 04/10/2008, -4/+31ps3's failure rate and 2008 line-up make 360 looks like a joke
- krische, on 04/10/2008, -4/+31The RROD makes XBOX look like a joke.
- killdashnine, on 04/10/2008, -4/+23'Bout damn time ... the old store was "unwieldy" to say the least.
Kudos Sony. - stereoa, on 04/10/2008, -2/+21Yeah just throw that ***** together, so that when it sucks HeavySausage and others can complain about something else. It has been said many times it is in the works. You think Sony said, "Well we only got two programmers, lets go for the easy updates?" No. They have hundreds working and testing new features. Be happy for what you get. You want good multiplayer, go use an xbox, and when that ***** red rings on you, be happy with what you got. Go play brawl and then tell me about ***** online.
- theaceoffire, on 04/10/2008, -4/+21*cough*ingameXMB*cough*
Although this store looks sweet. - RetlawST, on 04/10/2008, -10/+26I've been quite skeptical of the PS3 until these last few months. Sony's starting to get their ***** together, and it looks like they might be #1 console once again.
- Dracusis, on 04/10/2008, -0/+14Since the PS3 has been behind the 8 ball a bit, Sony have been listening to what people want, and are bending over backwards to give ti to their consumers. Can't same the same for the others though.
360 users: We want Free XBL multiplayer!
Microsoft: Hell no, and asking we'll force all you silver members to wait an extra for new demos. Haha, go on, ask for more free XBL services, see what we take away next!
Wii users: More multiplayer games, get rid of Wii codes!
Nintendo: No, you really do like Wii codes, we know you do.
Wii users: WTF?
PS3 Users: Rumble!
Sonk: Ok.
PS3 Users: Better store!
Sony: Done.
PS3 Users: In Game XMB!
Sony: Working on it, it'll be out soon.
PS3 Users: We want Achievements!
Sony: Ok, we'll give you Home, Achievements and some free social games. - SAEJO, on 04/10/2008, -3/+15Grace Chen mentions in the video that GT5 Prologue will be available for download on April 17. Since they stated that new downloads would not be available until the store is relaunched, I think this means the US gets the Playstation Store update next Thursday.
- slicecom, on 04/10/2008, -2/+14If you have credit cards to pay off then you can't afford one.
- krische, on 04/10/2008, -2/+14Like stereoa said, Sony has announced they are working on it. Would you rather they rush it out so you and many others can complain how buggy it is? I'd rather they do their homework and get it flawless, even if I have to wait a bit.
- bone625, on 04/10/2008, -1/+12Yesss! I don't see why more people haven't dugg this yet... one of the ONLY drawbacks to using the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player was its lack of DTS-HD support. And viola, there it is... God I love my PS3.
- knowitman, on 04/10/2008, -1/+11So noone cares about Gran Turismo, MGS or any other games but GTA?
- kake2k, on 04/10/2008, -2/+12Halo 3
oh wait, you said good game... nevermind. - krische, on 04/10/2008, -1/+11The Playstation Store has had game and movie/Blu-ray trailers since the beginning. And, I don't know which update added it, but you can already stream the videos as well.
- HeavySausage, on 04/10/2008, -2/+11Yeah that's true. I have 2 Xbox 360's and a PS3. I am gonna sell an xbox and get another PS3 for the reason of not needing to pay twice for internet access. Microsoft is total suck ass.
- Synthesize, on 04/10/2008, -2/+11The store looks really fantastic. In-game XMB has been stated numerous times that it will be in the 2.40 firmware update.
- superkendall, on 04/10/2008, -1/+10Thought that was fixed already?
- cderry, on 04/10/2008, -1/+10No.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/10/2008, -1/+10They stated that like 3 weeks ago, hehe.
Plus I think the firmware hits on the 15th. - superkendall, on 04/10/2008, -2/+10For more casual gamers, the very fact that you don't have to pay for online play makes it better. Even though I have a few people I like to play with I don't really play online enough to make Live worthwhile to me.
And when user generated content really hits, like stuff for Little Big Planet... - albaghly, on 04/10/2008, -4/+12WOOOOOT!! ... ingame xmb next?? (oh and they should get on IW's ass for rumble... major code over haul my ASS)
- Eddible, on 04/10/2008, -1/+9At least it's not laden with adverts. Granted, there are featured items but they're so much less intrusive than actual adverts.
- Austin7687, on 04/10/2008, -2/+10Wow, it needs a revamping. The current store sucks balls. It goes waaaaaay too slow.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/10/2008, -1/+9haha, okay you're right. Mass Effect for 1 more month.
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -3/+11The joke is when Live was down for all those weeks and all the paying customers only got a ***** underwater shooter game in return for the downtime. I didn't even download mine.
- Managua8Green, on 04/10/2008, -4/+12DTS-HD sounds sexy, like something I want to impregnate but abandon because I can't take the responsibility of raising another child. Finally!
- ChinezePanda, on 04/10/2008, -1/+8Cause I'm to busy getting ***** by Microsoft.
But no seriously. Ikaruga kicks ass. - krische, on 04/10/2008, -4/+11http://digg.com/bugreport
Tell them, not us. - ChinezePanda, on 04/10/2008, -4/+11I stated that I won't be renewing my live subscription this summer. This is one of those reasons. I didnt pay a dime for a major interface overhaul or the imminent playststion home... But I'm getting it anyway.... Free.
This is why I am loyal to Sony, and laughed when the first gen black behemoth that was xbox. Sony makes good on their promises, listens to its community anfmd puts out trully amazing pieces of hardware and ingenuity. - inactive, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7Um what? The PS3 can manage a better framerate, higher resolution and better graphics AT THE SAME TIME than the 360 can do in singularity. The reason some PS3 games have a poor framerate is because they are poorly programmed, not because the PS3 is a POS.
Oh, the PS3 can also manage to do everything without sounding like your trapped in a room with a running jet engine. - Philbert, on 04/10/2008, -0/+6I could care less what industry she's in, she's hot.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7Did you not see the video?
- moraldebate, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7They corrected playback of files more than 2gb within the PS3 but you have to get the files there first. You can stream them, burn them on a Dual Layer or put it on an HDD that lets you make files bigger than 4 gigs. The problem is that the PS3 only reads USB HDDs that are formatted with FAT32, meaning they can't hold files bigger than 4 gigs in the first place.
I bought my PS3 last Sunday and I seriously spent until yesterday figuring this crap out. - snoox, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7If you go into McDonalds and say I don't want to pay that much for a Big Mac, you get no Big Mac, it's that simple
- mywhitenoise, on 04/10/2008, -2/+8It's *supposed* to come out in version 2.40, which should be the next update after this one. Better be, this wait is getting ridiculous.
- KrustyTClown, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7I have a feeling that Sony has been hard at work on a lot of things such as Home, in game XMB, ect. I'm hoping Sony's taking their time to get everything right and then just slap Microsoft in the face all in one big update. That to go along with release like MGS4, HAZE, GT5 and whatever else I'm leaving out. I wouldn't be surprised if they create more innovative ways of using PS EYE also.
- faizal5k, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7Don't forget how Microsoft isn't open with their Live service.
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -1/+6it's both. slow & hard to navigate.
- krische, on 04/10/2008, -4/+9lost
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -2/+7Hi Sally!
- RetlawST, on 04/10/2008, -2/+7Yeah, but they also allow content updates for free. I'm not saying it's better than Live, but I am pissed as hell at Microsoft's insistence on pay per download content. (eg forcing Valve to charge for map upgrades)
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -1/+6Insignificant updates like huge compatability layers between the PSP and the PS3, blu-ray profile 2.0, divx/xvid support, etc etc. I would hardly call those insignificant.
You should keep in mind that microsoft had a 4-5 year head start. For how young PSN and XMB are, they have come a long way and they are doing extremely well in my opinion. - mywhitenoise, on 04/10/2008, -5/+10At least PS3 HAS exclusives. Name me 1 good gamefor 360 that I can't currently get for PS3 or PC.
- cthellis, on 04/10/2008, -0/+4Yeah, but mywhitenoise is used to much HOTTER females from even MORE unavailable industries, so doesn't understand why people lust over "hotness on level down" MERELY because she's with the gaming industry. ;-)
- sonicjosh, on 04/10/2008, -2/+6It's not hard, it's so easy a cavem... uh PS button --> controller settings --> vibration
anyway if you don't like it use the sixaxis, it's a great feature, I don't know why you don't like it - DeadFrost, on 04/10/2008, -3/+7I agree, Id like to see if HOME will really take off...maybe that woman from Facebook who slept with 50 men will be on there!
- cthellis, on 04/10/2008, -0/+4Quite possibly, but we'll find that out if they start losing ground as far as their tie-in ratio goes. Last time that was measured, they were right alongside the Wii, and both of them were right alongside where the 360 was when matching launch date timeframes, so there was no indication that they were taking a "non-gamer" hit.
