New Final Fantasy XIII & Versus XIII Artwork

ripten.com — Some artwork depicting Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Verus characters has made its way on to the web. Whether or not the art is the work of an individual within Square-Enix, or that of a talented illustrator/fan of the series is unclear.

It is a testament to the longevity and power of the FF series that people that claim to have hated the series literally for 10 years now STILL complain about each and every installment. The irony is if Square put out a FF that played very similar to VI with the same turn based setup, people would say that FF is no longer innovative and 'dying'. If there are more FF games that you hate than you love...please just stop playing them and go away.

I think Final Fastasy Mystic Quest is the best ever!!! Instant Classic!!! Its sad they didn't remake it into PSP, PS1,2 with new FMV... let's hope it'll appear in PS3!

    I know they are part of the Fabula nova crystallis FF XIII series.
    However, will they come in the same box? Will they ever be released to another system that's not PS3?

    • DarkYang, on 01/01/2008, -0/+17The Fabula Nova Crystallis is a compilation project by Square Enix, in which the three games are all based on a common mythology. Final Fantasy XIII and FF Versus XIII will both be for the PS3, while FF Agito XIII will be an online game for mobile phones. Square has also said that the three games will not otherwise be directly related to each other.       ..and FFXIII will never see the light of day on 360, even if MS managed to get Square-Enix in bed XIII is being developed on the White Engine, which is being designed for the PS3, if they ever tried to port it it would run at like 5fps, long story short it would take a LOT and in the end just would probably cost too much..

Final Fantasy 10... a great game, the last of the greats by the company, after that they started a slippery downhill slope. 10-2? 11online? 12 with the awful battle system... Think about it this way, if these games fail, and I am sure they wont do very well considering they have been being developed for over 4 years now, and 2 more to go and the fact that they are on one system which is in last place in sales. How can they recover all the money they are putting into making the games without going multi platform, how can they justify that to stock holders within the company? They will be on the verge of bankruptcy, but, that isn't all of a bad thing because there will be a good outcome, they will learn now to be single-platform, and, the big and, is that they will end up making the long awaited FF7 remake as their way of recovering from near bankruptcy and death. They are saving it until they really need it, they are smart in that way, very smart, don't give the fans what they want until they have no choice.

I used to be a big fan of FF but i'm not an idiot. I'll pay $50 dollars for the game and $50 dollars for a controller to plug in my computer. Not $700.

Just having the most upgrades graphics card will cost you over 500 bucks so you're obviously lying or build that computer with last year's parts. During the time the PS2 came out, no modern microcomputer of that time was able to process the graphics of any PS2 game well enough to play. I highly encourage you to get an education and not assume a desktop is capable of doing everything a console (that's specific to processing graphics) is capable of. When I built my $1000+ desktop a while after the PS2 came out, it still couldn't process PS2 graphics perfectly. So please, don't think your 500 dollar computer can even compare to the processing power of a console.
      • uziko, on 01/01/2008, -0/+1emulators only use the cpu and they are extremely inefficient in processing graphics, i can already run crysis on high with max resolution and anti aliasing, a ps3 would have trouble playing it on low, and you don't need a 500 dollar graphics card to be better than the ps3, a 100 dollar card will already beat it, you should get educated

  • lalilulelo, on 01/02/2008, -0/+0Just to let you know, this seems to be extremely early concept art for the games. There were two extended trailers, one for each game. The first one with Lightning, heroine from ffxiii, and the other with The Prince, one of the heroes from versus. The Prince does not really look much like the version of him drawn here. You can find both videos on any game trailer website. His sword is completely different and his hair isn't really blue at all. Either way both games still look kick ass.
