- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -13/+590Very funny little easter egg, lets all be ***** though and start a huge fight in the comments over it.
This also could be a bash towards the PS1 days rather then the 360. - EDmAN, on 06/08/2008, -65/+388On Xbox... Otacon- Snake, It's time to insert disk 9, do you see the disk labeled disk 9?
Snake-No. I there I found 8 and 10, but 9 is missing.
Otacon- Don't worry snake, just skip this cutsene and you will be on disk 10 anyway.
Snake- Okay! That makes a lot of sense.
Otacon- Sorry Snake, they wouldn't let us use the HD-DVD disk. Something about better sales even if it is a 16 disk box set.
Snake- Washington?
Otacon- No, Gates... Well at least there is no madatory install
Snake- Hmm. This is getting too stressfull... Bang...
Otacon- Snake? Snaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake!
Snake- Just kidding.
Well, I just wanted the 360 fanboys to look forward to something. - Dgen_X, on 06/09/2008, -9/+313While you're swapping discs with your wimpy 32bit system, I don't even have to worry about loading times with my N64!
In your face! - Uncle_Joe, on 06/08/2008, -92/+387Owned...
- ZeroOrDie, on 06/09/2008, -146/+429You guys know this isn't directed to Xbox 360 and a previous installment of Metal Gear Solid where you actually had to change the disk like that. You sonyfags were quick to jump on and flame train though.
- Falldog, on 06/09/2008, -24/+231Remember how awesome FFVII was? And that was three disks, suckers.
- rmw132, on 06/09/2008, -6/+184Wow Snake is starting to sound like Jack Bauer..."Damn it! There's no time!"
- CraigCarlyle, on 06/09/2008, -54/+227I wonder what this would be if it gets ported to the Xbox 360...
"Hold it, Snake. Before you begin your mission, you need to wait 5 minutes so that the game can be properly installed. I know, i know... it's a pain. But you need to do it."
"I didn't see no prompts for an install."
"Huh? Oh wait! We're on Xbox 360 system! It's a console that doesn't force you to install. It can play games right off of the disc!"
"Damn it, Otacon, get a grip!" - marcus1060, on 06/09/2008, -9/+167Pretty sure that is making fun of the PS1, and how it always had multiple disked games....
- fenix61, on 06/09/2008, -55/+194I'd rather swap a disk than have to wait 20 mins to update or install
- jpezzznuts, on 06/09/2008, -30/+156I agree that it seems more aimed at old MGS... but it also does have a strange stab at HD-DVD and Gates for some reason too. (calling people sonyfags also makes you a somekindofanboyfag)
- shagg187, on 06/09/2008, -2/+115Once again, this is not a cheapshot at 360. It's infact a joke concerning MGS1. MGS4 is a complete fan service to all the MGS fans and these inside jokes and easter eggs can only be understood by players who have played the previous games. That said, i cant wait!! :D
- bluntphallus, on 06/09/2008, -7/+109GoldenEye 007 was sex.
Not relevant at all, just thought I'd throw that out in the open. - Frostman3D, on 06/09/2008, -20/+121Yeah, maybe that 5 gig install on the PS3 helped out too.
- AvidPreatorian, on 06/09/2008, -20/+118i agreed with you until "sonyfags", really necessary? you're just making an "xboxfag" out of yourself.
gamers > fanboys - 4d669, on 06/09/2008, -2/+85In MGS3 Para-medic talks about video games in the future as if it were science fiction. In the original MG Big Boss tells you to turn off your console. In MGS1 Psycho Mantis reads your memory card, they tell you to look at the back of the box (rentals got *****) and Campbell tells you to change your controller. MGS2 Campbell tells you to turn of the game and then comments on how you've been playing for too long. Breaking the fourth wall is not new to Metal Gear. This has nothing to do with the X-Box. Also, you guys might want to re-watch the first trailer. It's worse than this.
- Allender, on 06/09/2008, -12/+95not ocarina ...and we all know thats the only game that has ever mattered...ever
- khyberkitsune, on 06/09/2008, -4/+85Nice to see the old MGS devs can poke fun at the technical limitations they had to deal with back in the PSX days.
- Dundasbro, on 06/09/2008, -4/+80I actually liked the multiple disks, you always knew where abouts you were in the game through it and it was easy to communicate to others, "I'm on disk 3" "Oh damn I just started disk 1..."
- narcosis219, on 06/09/2008, -3/+68I think they were just showing off Blu-ray. PS/PS2 had multi disks too you know.
- shadowmoose, on 06/09/2008, -2/+67Legend of Dragoon. Four disks of pure awesome.
- bakatrinh, on 06/09/2008, -3/+63I loved games that come in multi-disc because it makes the game feel epic.
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -7/+64Um, there are N64 games with load times...
- Thorlord, on 06/09/2008, -13/+65wait, how are they mocking the 360? none of my 20+ xbox 360 games are on multiple disks....
the last multi-disc game i played was on the PS1, if anything they are mocking the PS1. - duggtodeath, on 06/09/2008, -22/+74This comment is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Konami Digital Entertainment Co. Ltd.
- Thorlord, on 06/09/2008, -3/+54so your basically telling us you have no idea how consoles work with that inept display of your electronics knowledge...
- Protoss, on 06/09/2008, -0/+50Damn it Chloe!
- inactive, on 06/09/2008, -6/+50DAMMIT OTACON!
- dext3r, on 06/09/2008, -9/+52I didn't see anything in the video clip about Gates or HD-DVD.
I'm pretty sure this is a reference to MGS1. But whatever keeps you guys arguing over consoles keeps me entertained. - hellas1g7, on 06/09/2008, -2/+44http://my.break.com/Content/view.aspx?ContentID=51 ...
- Tr33fiddy, on 06/09/2008, -0/+40I'm looking forward to the PC version:
"Hold it Snake. You're missing rar.53. I know, I know... it's a pain but you need to locate the missing file otherwise it won't unpack properly.
Huh? Oh wait - is that someone knocking at my door? Yes... yes, I DO have a copy of uTorrent on my computer..."
"Damn it Otagon, get a lawyer" - reyoo30309, on 06/09/2008, -5/+42Was?
Ain't it still awesome? - DeathfireD, on 06/09/2008, -7/+44007 Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
matter just as much as Ocarina. - bagboyrebel, on 06/09/2008, -5/+42By sonyfag, I'm pretty sure he meant Sony fanboys, not PS3 owners in general, especially since this probably it was probably a fanboy that decided that this was a jab at the 360 without even considering the fact that previous games in the series had multiple disks.
- Guspaz, on 06/09/2008, -13/+49I hear that they have this new thing called "audio compression". They say it'll be the wave of the future.
- dumpyhumpy, on 06/09/2008, -0/+35THIEF! PIRATE!! CRIMINAL!!!
- pjkli, on 06/08/2008, -5/+39There almost was! Kojima had to cut some audio down just to fit in on the dual layer (50gb) disc!
- sectionGCLiFF, on 06/09/2008, -0/+34haha that brings me back
- mypetridish, on 06/09/2008, -18/+51id rahter have it installed to reduce load times...
- Thorlord, on 06/09/2008, -4/+35the ONLY thing i enjoyed about multiple disc games is that you could share the game with a friend when you were done with the first disk, he could play disc 1 while you were on disk 2.
- Myonosken, on 06/09/2008, -2/+29"Remember how awesome FFVII was"
I remember how underrated FF8 was and that had 4! - inactive, on 06/09/2008, -1/+27It had load times, just not long ones. The transitions between areas are load times.
- Lawr, on 06/09/2008, -7/+32Lost Odyssey came out on four discs. Infinite Undiscovery, when it drops later this year will have multiple discs too.
With everything that Kojima has packed into this game, and the fact that Otacon is promoting the PS3 and Blu-Ray, and doesn't entirely spell out "XBOX360RUSHEDTOMARKETWITHDVD9", doesn't mean you can't use that thing sitting between your ears. - talkingwires, on 06/09/2008, -30/+55Would've dug you up, since PS1 and PS2 games had multiple discs. Then I got to the "sonyfags" remark. Buried.
- bitterbug, on 06/09/2008, -5/+29hipnotyq:
If you're calling someone ***** to insult them, you're no better than the people you're bitching about. - xino, on 06/09/2008, -3/+26This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Konami Digital Entertainment Co. Ltd.
- TiMMY8765, on 06/09/2008, -0/+22don't forget Fission Mailed, that one originated in MGS2
- jaytea90, on 06/09/2008, -4/+26...and get my ass off the couch, open the disc case, take out the disc, replace discs AND FINALLY get back to the couch?!
no thanks, - TangentThought, on 06/09/2008, -1/+22It was three discs.
- diggymow, on 06/09/2008, -26/+46Too bad it doesn't reduce load times it just puts them on par with the 360.
