  • urbanmunky, on 01/11/2008, -1/+8As you probably know, some titles are in for test before the public is even made aware of it's existence. I'm not saying this is the case here but it would have been in for test months ago, before the demo was released to the press.

  • urbanmunky, on 01/11/2008, -0/+7I work in QA and most of the time, bug testing is finished a good 6-8 weeks before the game is due to be released to finalize all of the legal jargon and get the code shipped off to the companies that actually make the finished product.
    I can't recall a bug ever delaying a game, it's usually poor development planning and not enough dev resources.

I would hope it's been in that for a while, as testing cycles can be very long, especially for high profile games. When God of War and other equally huge games come into SCEA's QA department, we are testing those games for months upon months.

  • lalilulelo, on 01/11/2008, -1/+4Halo 3 has sold about 6.5 mil so far, and the big part of it's sales are over. It'll probably hit 8 or 9 in it's lifetime. The attach rate is more around 33% and it's going to steadily go down. Each metal gear solid game has sold about 5.5 million. That's not that far off from Halo for a complete lack of publicity in the mainstream world. (If you told a majority of "normal" people your favorite video game is MGS, they'll probably go WTF is that). But in this case there's two more factors, the fact that there are only going to be 10 million ps3s out when the game is released and the fact that it is basically the only killer app being release around that part of the year. Sales could either go up or down.
