Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. - sonar1, on 08/10/2008, -7/+33only reason my psp is still usable is because of supermarioworld
- maximallimit, on 08/10/2008, -22/+45I think is useles to have touch screen to play games
- hypodan, on 08/10/2008, -2/+21I'm tired of some retard saying that in every story. If the comments suck then make a good one dumbass.
- Smwbigboss, on 08/10/2008, -2/+16Those aren't the best DS games at all. New Super Mario Bros is a good game. Tetris is OK for a remake, but doesn't really compare to some of the better games

A few of them don't use the touchscreen, but most of them do. - WhereAmI, on 08/10/2008, -3/+16There's a mario party on the DS?
...WHEN WILL IT END - Varz, on 08/10/2008, -3/+15Yeah I find it annoying to use, especially in games like Metroid Prime: Hunters where you have to use the D-Pad and the touchscreen simultaneously.
- john2kx, on 08/10/2008, -0/+10DS? I'm not aware of a DS emulator on PSP.. How do they pull that off?
Although, I guess technically what you said is correct; the PSP will allow you to _store_ DS games. :P - h0er, on 08/10/2008, -0/+9Now that's a big statement you got there GarryBarker.
Do some research. - Satanael, on 08/10/2008, -1/+10Another user feeding off of the general pessimism on the internet in an attempt to get diggs and feel better about themself
- WhereAmI, on 08/10/2008, -4/+11The best games don't use it much on the DS anyway (New Super Mario Bros, Tetris).
- Sniper, on 08/10/2008, -1/+8If you make it, they will come.
- Cheesasaurus, on 08/10/2008, -2/+9It's inconceivable!
- mimigins, on 08/10/2008, -3/+9A little early to start saying that don't you think? I mean.. there's only 5 above yours
- RunnyBabbit, on 08/10/2008, -2/+8I'd have to disagree. A few of my favorites certainly make wonderful use of it, like Elite Beat Agents, Meteos, Picross, etc.
- NecroSexy, on 08/10/2008, -0/+5You should work for Sony.
- RedGreen1, on 08/10/2008, -1/+6Why digg him down?
It's an awesome device...once you install a custom firmware. - Frozo, on 08/10/2008, -2/+7You are right. You get MUCH more control with the button. Plus, your finger always gets in the way of the action. Despite much speculation, the iPhone is NOT the future of gaming.
- apena89, on 08/10/2008, -7/+12idk how long i posted that youtube video.
:/
awesome tho. like i said, sony should pick up on this for the existing system. oh my lord will they get lots of sales. maybe even a motion sensor built in? - jdaniel284, on 08/10/2008, -4/+9Touchscreen is not only a worthless feature, I believe it makes a device like the PSP *less* valuable. I like my screen clean and clear and don't want to have to squint through greasy fingerprints just to see what is going on.
I have a couple of friends with iPhones, and the device always looks nasty, with greasy smears and mystery substances always all over the screen. No thanks, I think I'll stick with the analog controller. - Diggelichous, on 08/10/2008, -8/+12cool!!
- inactive, on 08/10/2008, -0/+4Actually the PSP could definitely handle N64 emulation, it's just a matter of programming.
- Typhoon2009, on 08/10/2008, -1/+5Wait, did he accomplish this by putting extra hardware into the PSP? Because AFAIK that's the only way to have touch-screen - some sort of wiring on the screen that detects changes in capacitance or whatever.
- Murdats, on 08/10/2008, -1/+5some of the games, especially the early ones were still experimenting with control schemes, and some games try to hard to use every feature presented by the console.
people seem to forget that just because a feature is there doesn't mean your game will be unpopular if you dont use it, there were good games before touch screens, some games are enhanced by the touch screen and some should never think about using it except for as a choice for menu navigation. - Eezyville, on 08/10/2008, -4/+8I didn't know Sony offered it. I thought you had to hack the PSP to do that. So the only good thing about the PSP is that you can hack it and play Nintendo games? I thought there were some good PSP games but I guess not.
- Eezyville, on 08/10/2008, -3/+7I love using it, especially in Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
- 0260, on 08/10/2008, -1/+5tell that to my worms world party on my winmo phone
- Thorlord, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3i think it is a neat feature, but will not be used much.
if the PSP2 has a touchscreen, i imagine it will be used occasionally for special commands like drawing something on the screen, keyboard. while ingame it would use the analog stick(s) for gaming while leaving the said functions of before if needed in the game, to the touch screen. - ayeroxor, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3Yes, you see what he did there...
/sigh - john2kx, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3You're dumb.
- Murdats, on 08/10/2008, -1/+4you are obviously missing the point.
- lildeviI, on 08/10/2008, -0/+2A motion sensor in a device that spins a disc is a bad idea.
- theaceoffire, on 08/11/2008, -0/+2Nintendo 64 emulator:
http://dl.qj.net/Nintendo-64-Emulators-PSP-/catid/ ...
Plays slower now, but is playable.
And I ment to say Gameboy Advanced, not DS... although a guy has already made a touch screen attachment for the PSP.
http://dl.qj.net/Gameboy-Advance-Emulators-PSP-/ca ...
And as for the guy above: I have tried home brew for both the PSP and the DS, and its not worth messing with homebrew on the DS.
If your not gonna mess with home brew, then work with the html / java packages that give you packages of games and stuff for the browser. Also, check out Loco Roco etc.
^_^ But nothing is cooler in my mind than playing FF7 and FF8 on the bus. - Lowspirit, on 08/10/2008, -2/+4Pointing out that one posted the same story but earlier (in your case like 12 days or something) seems to not be all that popular. I dugg you up to an even +1 one again, you just pointed it out and wasn't obnoxious about it or anything.
If I were having a discussion with my friends and my friend said "Damn it I knew Jerry would explode if we fed him explosives." and I follow that up by pointing out that we talked about it last week already and how it probably was a bad idea, does that mean I should get punched in the face?
Something to think about... don't eat explosives. - Psythik, on 08/10/2008, -0/+2How 'bout two joysticks; ones without massive deadzones, so that we can finally have some decent handheld FPSes?
- Bhav01, on 08/10/2008, -2/+4Your friends need to start washing their hands!
- frositay, on 08/10/2008, -2/+4It definitely needs better controls, the speaker analog is just too slippy and hurts your thumb after a while, they should have added a mini analog like their PS controllers have, just smaller
- logandurand, on 08/10/2008, -0/+2MP:H's controls felt very natural to me, quite similar to a mouse + keyboard combo.
- inactive, on 08/10/2008, -2/+4 But I don't like fingerprints all over it.
- CCmachined, on 08/10/2008, -1/+3theaceoffire: pfft, the PSP can't handle N64 emulation.
i'll agree the DS is a poor device for homebrew and emulation... you'll want a Pandora when it comes out next month for that... http://openpandora.org - Gamoc, on 08/10/2008, -0/+2The size is perfect, the price is great, there are a few good games coming out for it, though there should probably be more, and the PSP interacts with the PS3 something like 2 millions times better than the DS does with the Wii.
- apena89, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1lol wat
- apena89, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1prove it.
- shinythingy, on 08/10/2008, -0/+1facepalm
- DragonForce4, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1You killed my father. Prepare to die
- volacide, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1It truly is a kickass device, and I believe if it wasn't so daunting to people new to the homebrew scene there would be a hell of a lot more people touting the PSP as the true handheld champion.
I guess you could argue it's kind of cheap that the best parts of the PSP are old school classics, but I'll take that and argue that the classics of the SNES, NES, PlayStation 1, Game Boy, Sega consoles, and various other emulators all absolutely destroy any games available exclusively for the DS. Add in the fact that you can play all these games on the go at complete convenience just enhances the deal.
For instance, take any PS1 FF game, you'd think that would be a pain to play on a handheld because of the limited save areas, well think again because you can simply put the PSP into it's sleep mode and come back to the game right where you left off whenever you like. It's rare actually that I ever actually turn my PSP off, 90% of the time it's just asleep.
Yeah, I'm in love with my PSP, it's keeping all my favorite games alive in a whole new way and I don't think anyone can argue with that. - dannylewis, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Okay... don't use the touch screen to play games... use it to operate the PSP's interface. It takes for ***** ever to type on the damn thing... HORRIBLE execution.
- Andrwmorph, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Chile con Carnage is a sweet game!
- adiyo011, on 08/10/2008, -0/+1Sony should hire that guy.
- MetalGear7, on 08/10/2008, -8/+9Psp ***** rocks
