- AwesomeMonster, on 10/10/2007, -18/+82OH BOY, I SMELL REHASH!
Madden is not that good, the game is ugly, is buggy as all hell, has some ***** hit detection, and it's the same ***** game you have been buying for 4 years now. ***** you EA, and ***** you yahoo games for making a stupid review. - Nudar, on 10/10/2007, -3/+62Some of you may remember that Madden's main competitor was selling its 2k football game for $19.99. Right after that, EA bought exclusive rights to the NFL so it would never again be undercut by a competitor. Winners: EA, NFL. Losers: The Fans.
- monkeycatDx, on 10/10/2007, -3/+55And the countdown till Vince Young gets injured begins.
- longhair, on 10/10/2007, -16/+62Once EA bought the rights to the NFL I stopped buying it. And, good as it may be or gets, I will never buy it again.
- johnkyoungoh, on 10/10/2007, -4/+35Jesus, this is a YAHOO GAMES review.
Honestly just wait for the gamerankings.com average. - RoroCo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+34{Starts slow clap}
Note to EA...
We don't care about enhanced graphics on cut scenes... especially when they give Manning Barry Bond-esge arms.
We don't care about "player weapons". We know who is good at what in the NFL... those that don't should be flogged.
We want smoother, more intuitive, and more realistic GAMEPLAY. What was brilliant on the PS1 is now just plain dated.
If you don't get us any of this, stop charging 60 dollars for a roster update.
Thank you. - jackpot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27Sounds like a sponsored review to me.
- troyfoley, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24I heard Madden's eyebrows have a near perfect 99 rating.
- FZero68, on 10/10/2007, -11/+33***** EA and their ***** sports games, must be nice not to try without any competition. 2K sports all the way.
- bittermang, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Those numbers for Japan are great. It is as if an overwhelming majority decided to try Madden 2001 for the PS2. Then, as a country, they all decided to never invest in another Madden edition ever again.
- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -9/+23I don't care how good the game is. Im not buying an EA game ever again.
- kgoyette, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16I am pretty sure that the NFL sold the rights. What was EA suppose to do, say screw it we don't want to piss off longhair at Digg.com
- DIGGerPhelpsND, on 10/10/2007, -8/+22Buried as inaccurate; Diggers don't have wives or girlfriends.
- SirNoobius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+121UP gave it a 9
http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3161871 - TheCount, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11And yet, they still somehow failed to add online leagues.
- npsken, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Not even Spore?
Also, Skate looks good. - whatthefu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Yes, but will it be more than just an update of previous ones with new rosters and slightly different features?
- finezapa, on 10/10/2007, -6/+15..and i was soo close to finally regaining my social life after playing madden '07. oh well.
- freetyme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Wageslaven, may I ask you something? Why are you so intimidated by a 2.7 lb box known as the Wii? Everytime something good is said about it you slam it saying its all crap, 360 is better & 3rd party devs will always ignore it. 360 is cool man but geez every article is "but 360" or "don't u feel cheated by nintendo " or "its only selling b/c of price", why are you scared by a small white box?
- DogEars, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Buried as inaccurate. Madden and engrossing quality do not belong in the same sentence...
- netkid91, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You realize a few months after '09 comes out they will disable the online in '08 right? With madden online play is an annual subscription, buy the newest game or be without it.
- strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Army of Two may cause my EA boycott to end. Damn't I love co-op games.
- Stevo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Because playing it in real life is completely possible for the majority of people after high school.
- noobeffect, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Although I agree with you. I know there are many more people out there that would still buy Madden games year after year even if EA didn't change anything to Madden '08 and sold it the next year as Madden '09 and so on.
People need to realize this is just the same game over and over. - tadj, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6The question is, will it be even bigger than all previous Maddens (I reckon so)... http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=madden
- notque, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11And All pro football is sooo good.
- cr4ft, on 10/10/2007, -10/+14Let me guess, it's Madden 07' with an 08' sticker replaced, like they've always done.
Sorry, my opinion may be of the minority but I don't notice much changes in the game every year, if any - oofgeg, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I'll make my judgment on it once I play the game or demo.
- Zap2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Well EA got some online action for Wii, which is the only reason I'm buying it this year. I'll likely skip '09 and '10....maybe I'll get '11
- copaceticZ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4lets not forget the ps3 version will only be 30fps per second while the 360 version will be 60fps the article was inaccurate as stating it will be 60fps because there was a story a few weeks ago about how it will only be running at 30fps on the ps3 unless that somehow changed......
- davidjunit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Did you get a lip gloss commercial at the side of the page? Have Madden fans been known to buy women beauty products? Uhh O_o;
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4i miss 2k
- scoobydiesel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3ill digg it just for the hell of it but i do hope it is a better game then we have been given in the past.
EA really needs to step it up with 2KSports back in the game. - strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yes. I deleted it shortly afterwards.
- coolkatz321, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I just think Madden and "quality" don't belong in the same sentence...
- TheCount, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4"Sounds like a sponsored review to me." That's the first thing that came to me as well, I trust absolutely nothing coming from either Yahoo or AOL hosted pages.
- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Damnit... your right... but spore wont be coming out for like a billion years so I'll cross the bridge when I get there. I was going to get skate but I changed my mind.
- Gregus1032, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2actually i still do with some of my friends, but what's wrong with playing it on a console every now and then?
- xkrwlng, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4lol @ all the morons who are suckered into buying the same game over and over again, year after year
they tried that ***** with UT 2003 and UT 2004, but the (sane) FPS crowd won't have anything to do with it - evist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Hard to lose at a game that sucks so badly in the first place, you never intend to play it.
- coloneltcb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3you're exactly right. It was the NFL that decided they wanted to sell the rights to an exclusive game maker. Was EA supposed to not submit a bid on principle?
- stereoa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What are you talking about? Half-Life is Valve developed and published by Vivendi and Crysis is developed by Crytek and published by Ubi...
- LuCiFer6, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Game Trailers also have a video review up.
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/23438.html - vincenzo7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1and this review sucked.
- strictnein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What frat are ya in brah?
- funnydale, on 10/10/2007, -6/+7It's amazing how the people bitching about Madden are the same people who have never even bothered to play the game yet.
I mean, hell, some people like to bitch for the sake of bitching.
Oh, and if you're going to boycott EA for unfairly killing the competition, then you'll also need to boycott Nintendo for all their antitrust BS they committed in the late 80's, early 90's (which was far worse than anything EA has ever done). - kgoyette, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I said the same thing, realized it was Yahoo and went, uhh...never mind...
- tpv2066, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2i could not get my head around 2k All pro. The demo just made me dizzy.
- Ultiman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's called football...soccer is called soccer. And it sucks.
- allisonaxe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I can't find a review of the wii edition. for me, i'm intensely interested in the waggle controls, but the HD and 60fps of the 360 is pretty tempting, too. i haven't bought a football game since Sega's ESPN series, haven't played madden since beating a sporto-friend on his snes copy (and having him scream in rage how he'd get beat by a nerd who'd never played the game ever,) and I'm really torn whether i want shiny graphics or waggle controls. any opinions?
