- Crazymaniacc, on 02/26/2009, -5/+52This is gonna turn into flame wars in a matter of seconds
oh wait, it has already started - AlxRymnd914, on 02/26/2009, -12/+58I can't wait to buy this STUPID PIECE OF *****.
- bfils6632, on 02/26/2009, -31/+73Its about time. i'm tired of Xbox getting all of the best shooter games. PS# is a superior console and just doesn't have the game library yet.
- Bubble666, on 02/26/2009, -8/+45This is the game Sony says the 360 can't render. I Can't wait to see it.
- krets, on 02/26/2009, -5/+39***** you! Two of my 360's died trying to render that game!
- mdaize, on 02/26/2009, -14/+47I don't know why you are being buried (besides fanboyness)
The PS3 is a superior CONSOLE in all respects - rock solid hardware, more advanced features - just because it has a slightly less comprehensive library, and costs a tad more, so what? It's a cheaper console in the long run, has a much more vivid/variable library, free online, open software, and such... - inactive, on 02/26/2009, -11/+36Ever since Halo was released.
- cli006, on 02/26/2009, -11/+36I buried you even though I like my PS3 better than my RRODed out of warranty 360. The PS3 has no games argument died out a long time ago. MGS4, LBP, R1 R2, KZ2, GT P, Uncharted.. do you really want me to continue? Now compare these heavy hitters graphically to 360's library. Nothing looks better than Sony's 1st party games.
- sgxyay, on 02/26/2009, -3/+27Halo 3 is a pretty average looking game....
- Chewie67, on 02/26/2009, -3/+21This make or break stuff for Sony is ridiculous.
That's like saying that Pepsi is on the verge of shutting down because Coke is outselling them. Pepsi (and Sony) still sell MILLIONS of products. They're not going to collapse just because another competitor is doing well too. - stroudma, on 02/26/2009, -9/+26Word on the street is that this game will harness more of the PS3's processing power then any previous game. Ergo will be the most processing-power intense console game in history. I'm expecting great things...
- EvoIII8, on 02/26/2009, -7/+24Wow really? Its exciting to hear that they worked so hard on such a fantastic looking game. It's not like spent those 3 years just jerkin' off or something.
- counterplex, on 02/26/2009, -2/+18First time I laughed at that meme :)
- KesshoRyu, on 02/26/2009, -3/+19Your computer with a current-gen graphics card can beat a console with a 2-3 gen old graphics card? I find that rather mind-blowing.
- DarkprinceArmon, on 02/26/2009, -8/+23Get to pick it up at midnight tonight if you preordered it from GameStop. I'm looking forward to the game.
- FredFredrickson, on 02/26/2009, -9/+23The reviews for this game puzzle me - looking at Metacritic, the majority of them have given the game 90+ / 100 points, but many of those say the game is mostly a par-the-course shooter with amazing visuals. I'm sorry, but since when have graphics been enough to propel mediocre games up into the high 90's?
- EvoIII8, on 02/26/2009, -4/+18Can't wait. Just one more day.
- AmazingSteve, on 02/26/2009, -13/+27Sony says A LOT of things. Unfortunately for them, the vast majority of it is *****.
- mdaize, on 02/26/2009, -4/+18It's not make or break .... the PS3 will not just die, it has 20+ MILLION installs, large first party and third party support, and a very large fan base... same with the PSP
- Lasereth, on 02/26/2009, -7/+20Are you kidding? Graphics are what pushes games forward. If you think about it, there's not a whole lot that has changed since SNES games besides the graphics. Graphics can create an amazing atmosphere that can evoke emotions from players. I find it annoying that so many people bash the latest graphics saying that they don't matter. Throw me in a FPS with amazing visuals, tight controls, and a decent story and I will give it a good rating too.
- U83RMENSCH, on 02/26/2009, -20/+33the 360 couldnt render this game even if it tried.
- AGONYTUESDAY, on 02/26/2009, -12/+25fanboys are burying this.
you are right though. - c010rb1indusa, on 02/26/2009, -5/+17MGS4, COD4, Bioshock, Uncharted Drake's Fortune, Dead Space, GTAIV, LBP, valkyria chronicles, Oblivion, Resistance 1 and 2...what's wrong with that library...xbox's library may be bigger but not better
- Harrison88, on 02/26/2009, -3/+15The graphics on it are amazingly good. Far better than Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank.
- bannonto, on 02/26/2009, -2/+14Let me be one of those children. Well, at 35 I still feel like a child.
- c010rb1indusa, on 02/26/2009, -3/+15Read reviews of both of those games. For Oblivion, almost every critic acknoledges that Oblivion looks better on PS3, and critical consensus for bioshock has been the same or better for the ps3 version so idk wtf you're talking about
- tictacns, on 02/26/2009, -5/+16After my third RROD, I gave up in my 360. I had both consoles for the past 18 months. The PS3 was never powered off and the 360 only got turned on for actual game time. I do not want to get into the superior or not argument, but the PS3 has definitely been more reliable. Now that the library has grown enough. I dumped the 360. KZ2 will probably be my next purchase (if I can pry R2 from the system)
- KrustyTClown, on 02/26/2009, -4/+15@Turbojugend27
When the PS3 first came out, developers were making ***** ports, thats not the case anymore. You are still living in the past. Multi platform games that look just as good on PS3 if not better are;
Fallout 3
Deadspace
Bioshock
Oblivion
COD4
GTA4
Street fighter 4
Virtual fighter 4
RB6V 2
Soul Caliber
There really is no reason to own a 360 nowadays. It's best games always end up on the PC and you can get a 360 controller for the PC and not have worry about RROD. PS3 got Bioshock and is getting Mass Effect so why buy a 360 for 2 games that will most likly be on PC (Gears of war 2 and Halo 3)? - amanteduck, on 02/26/2009, -5/+16Potential Co-op DLC

Recent articles are handy for news sometimes. - KrustyTClown, on 02/26/2009, -2/+13WOW, this dude is dumb. How can the 360 version of Oblivion and Bioshock be better than the PS3 version. The PS3 versions came with the extra content already on the disk for both games. Both devs also had more time to improve on thing life graphics/frame rate. Read some reviews and then come back. If they are not better on the PS3, they are at least just as good.
- KrustyTClown, on 02/26/2009, -1/+12Edge Magazine screwed up that rating. I don't understand why their reviews are still excepted.
They rated,
MGS4 8/10
Resistance 2 6/10
Killzone 2 7/10
They did give LBP 10/10. But if they would have gave LBP a bad score, I think it would have been obvious to everyone that the reviewers are biased 360 lovers. - Jarett, on 02/26/2009, -4/+15..I'll continue if I may...
Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm and Valkyria Chronicles. - inactive, on 02/26/2009, -0/+10hey! me too! I'm gonna' be 40 in two weeks and am very excited to play this game...got my pre-order ready for pickup on the 27th!
- VVCephei, on 02/26/2009, -3/+13Just to clear it up for all those who think AlxRymnd914 is flaming... He's just referring to an article by theonion...
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -3/+13Wow, way to sound like a ten year old.
Fanboys of any sort are lame. - cli006, on 02/26/2009, -5/+15They received so much criticism for the E3 render but this is the first time I think a developer actually surpassed the target render.
- Exhaust, on 02/26/2009, -1/+11Yes let's censor and ban all adult entertainment because VoteGOP can't comprehend what the big M on the box means.
I'd expect nothing less from a troll named VoteGOP. That’s what the GOP is now. Can't open their mouths without contradicting themselves at every turn.

LOL
Krusty just said everything I needed to, but if you still really believe the PS3 has no games argument, then by all means enjoy your ticking 360. I loved mine too until it kept dying. My consumer loyalty stays with an electronic that actually works. I would rather have a system that "has no games" rather than an out of warranty brick. - cli006, on 02/26/2009, -2/+11Sony has almost caught up to 360 in worldwide sales despite being a year behind AND having a much higher price point. Last time I checked, 360 was sitting around 26.5 M wordwide and PS3 21M.
Now what you have to think about is how many of those MS sales are 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th XBOXs.. reburbished sold 360s, etc. Considering the RROD rate.. it could be very high. - MalharP16, on 02/26/2009, -25/+34Good for Sony. Still waiting to rent the game before the purchase - didn't love the demo.
- kingmanic, on 02/26/2009, -3/+12A competent game + good multiplayer + nice graphics will usually yield a high score (Halo 1, 2, 3). By PC gamer standards Halo is a mediocre game and COD 4 is a much superior FPS but both scored well.
Pretty graphics tend to pump up the score as it adds to the perceived quality. See games like Okami which has a very strong visual style or a game like flower which is a fun simplistic "fly through hoops" game with stunning graphics. Gears of war is a banal story attached to a decent third person shooter but the "epic" graphics coalesces it into a good product. Don't underestimate the power of a pretty picture to move someone and add to a game.
Sometimes I load up my heavily modded oblivion just to look around at the gorgeous 2048x2048 textures, max qualoty, tweaked out landscape. - mywhitenoise, on 02/26/2009, -4/+13that was hilarious. Better than most overused, and generic memes.
- bardamu, on 02/26/2009, -2/+11I don't know about all that. Fear 2 has been pretty good to me and I really don't like FPS on consoles. But the controls are so seamless and intuitive Fear 2 is almost better on the ps3.
- EvoIII8, on 02/26/2009, -1/+10Look it up dude. It has been proven that video games don;t lead to violence in children. Society just needs to blame something for all the socially inept children there are because of bad parenting. Besides, children should not be playing games like this in the first place. Do you honestly believe that developers make these kinds of games so that under-age can children play them? It is intended for adults and if you are upset because of the many irresponsible adults that are allowing children to play this, than i can wholeheartedly agree with you; yet it is unavoidable. Children have been exposed to violence since the beginning of friggen time. I just want people to understand that the people who develop these games and the audience that they intend to play them, don't wish to harm children with their product. Whats harming them is the carelessness of some parents who allow their 8-year-old son to buy Halo 3 and curse like damn sailors on xbox live...get it straight
- etx313, on 02/26/2009, -2/+11Wish I had a ps3 now. I had killzone on the psp, it was one of the better games for the handheld.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -6/+14There has been a lot of hype since the early E3 target render. This is one of the big games for the PS3 this year and should sell well.
- ELblackSHEEP, on 02/27/2009, -1/+9This game looks amazing, between this and Resistance2 i'm sold on why to buy another console.
My name is 'el' and i own a 360, there i admitted it! - moocowrat, on 02/26/2009, -6/+14got it here in Germany yesterday. it's the best shooter i've played since COD 4. Guerilla did a fantastic job on this one. love killing me some Higs with those tangerine eyes...
- kingmanic, on 02/26/2009, -6/+14Both systems are not nearly identical GPU's inside. Didn't we go over this fred.
Sony GPU:
faster specialized shaders, bottlenecks more easily, will perform better as game/compiler programmers learn to avoid bottlenecks. Theoretically higher fill-rates/framerates
360 GPU:
Interesting unified shader architecture. Slower shaders but more flexible thus less bottlenecks. Pretty much already topped out in terms of what it can deliver. Easy to use, not much more to gain. Theoretically lower fill-rates/framerates but very easy to attain.
The 360 can still gain some graphic oomph via intelligent use of the other 2 cores on the CPU to help the GPU while the PS3 basically had 6 simplified vector math units which could help too. Both have untapped potential but the PS3 has more. Its just a bitch to optimize for but that is a problem that engine creators like epic and optimization freaks like Kojima studios will deal with and pass along. If you threw all the PSU's into it and got around the bottlenecks of the RSX the PS3 would make scenes the 360 could not render it pixel for pixel in real time.
However you could just dump down certain effects and simplify some geometry and the 360 could then do it. - Jarett, on 02/26/2009, -5/+12...and Warhawk
