- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -1/+70It's amazing how the PS2 is STILL a major contender nearly 3 years into the life of the 360.
- TheWebSwinger, on 06/04/2008, -1/+53Boss:"Hey, noone wants a PS2 anymore. Everyone's already got one."
Intern:"But have they got one...in RED?"
Boss: "Promotion. Instant promotion." - daridave, on 06/03/2008, -1/+51will probably sell more than the ps3... and 360.
- Zamfir, on 06/03/2008, -7/+43No, they are "supposed" to be advertising and pushing sales for all their products.
- Jrr6415sun, on 06/04/2008, -0/+31why does japan get all the cool *****.
- ZombieSociety, on 06/04/2008, -0/+31They make it.
- rancidrabbit, on 06/04/2008, -2/+26I'm happy to see that the PS2 still hanging in there.

- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -5/+22Looks hot.
- Motocompo, on 06/04/2008, -1/+18Cinnabar Red....
That reminds me of Cinnabar Island from Pokemon....
the PS2 slim still kicks ass in my opinion. - DanBoodro, on 06/03/2008, -23/+37Wait a sec...aren't they supposed to be advertising and pushing PS3 sales instead?
- hpcjosh, on 06/04/2008, -1/+15hmmm isnt it called the PSP? I mean most of the games for that system are basically ports from PS2.
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -4/+17Its awesome that PS2 is still alive after over 8 years. No console will ever beat its track record.
- shondell, on 06/04/2008, -1/+13Because the sales of PS2 consoles are still very high, especially in Japan
- sjmulder, on 06/04/2008, -0/+11Wow, even standing in the shadow of the colossus the PS2 is alive and kicking!
- makkaveli19, on 06/04/2008, -1/+10it's also outselling the 360.... says alot huh?
- CarnivalOfDust, on 06/04/2008, -0/+8@xsquirrel378x
All from 1993 and 1994:
Battletoads; Kirby's Adventure; Mario Is Missing; Final Fantasy I & II; Last Action Hero; Ducktales 2; Wario's Woods; Mega Man 6; Some Dragon Ball Z game whose name I can't even try and spell. Haven't played the last 2, but they are part of established franchises.
So that would make the NES' life about... ooh... 8 years.
And that's if you don't count the fact that the last games came out in 1994, or that production on the Famicom systems only halted in October 2003 (thanks, Wiki!). - inactive, on 06/04/2008, -2/+10As much as the 2000s sucked. All my good memories will be from the PS2.
- KnockoutNerd, on 06/03/2008, -1/+9I can use a new PS2, if this came over seas I would definitely think about buying it.
- ocharry, on 06/04/2008, -1/+8Aww belgium....Why can't SCEA bring these colors to the over here?
- LogitechG15, on 06/04/2008, -1/+8The reason that people still buy the PS2 is that it's the only last generation console that still is supported, it's cheaper and has basically the same graphics as the Wii, and there is 8 years of amazing games on it.
- hpcjosh, on 06/04/2008, -0/+7Three letters for the reason why the PS2 is still hot in Japan.
R P G - shondell, on 06/04/2008, -1/+8Yea, I still remember getting the PS2 when it first came out years ago. They were a lot bigger then, its amazing how many aesthetic changes it has gone through so far.
- aussieNickuss, on 06/04/2008, -5/+11The PS2 is a little champ. After 8 years it's still selling like hotcakes!!! Just goes to show Sony knew what they were doing with that little gem. If only it would rub off on the PS3.
- Flashypoo, on 06/04/2008, -7/+13Why?
- krolm, on 06/04/2008, -1/+7man all the bloods in japan are gonna go crazy over this one!!!
- Farmer77, on 06/04/2008, -0/+6I got my first PS2 last year (the slim one) so I can play all the great games that I missed out on, for cheap. 9 bucks for Metal Gear Solid 3. Can't beat that!
- jman583, on 06/04/2008, -2/+8...combined
- chaosblade77, on 06/04/2008, -1/+6I'm surprised you're getting dugg down, I started looking at comments and figured a lot more people would agree with you. I think it's a terrible color for a console.
- mCanada, on 06/04/2008, -0/+5Keeping the ps2 around will actually help ps3 sales. If your a potential ps3 owner and you see Sony's previous console still kicking around, that will lead you to believe that the PS3 will be around for the same duration. That assumption may be totally ***** however, I'm just trying to say that by killing off your console earlier you piss off your customers and really don't help anything. See Xbox1. Not to mention ***** loads of PS2 owners were probably going to own both consoles anyways. Bah.
- johnsmith3210, on 06/04/2008, -0/+5But why male models?
- vaxguru, on 06/04/2008, -0/+4That red PS2's so hot right now.
- bratterscain, on 06/04/2008, -0/+4Yeah, it's too loud and draws more focus to it when it should be directed mostly at the game on-screen.
- patch6, on 06/04/2008, -5/+9Make a Playstation 2 handheld already.
- roxya, on 06/04/2008, -0/+4The PS2 has the biggest range of 'AAA' (I hate the term, but...) games ever seen on a single console, and yes, it's cheap.
- inactive, on 06/04/2008, -6/+9Support means nothing. Sony could give lifetime support to all their products if they wanted. NES lasted for about 7 years (1985-1992). Even if you find a game or two after this, NES was already superseded by the SNES. So STFU idiot
- johnsmith3210, on 06/04/2008, -1/+4Flopped almost as bad as your comment.
- ry4nsm1th, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2I'd just save that money for a PS3 instead.
- LordofChaosIori, on 06/04/2008, -9/+11Looks ugly as sin.
- Twenty, on 06/04/2008, -4/+6He didn't say anything about nostalgia.
- DavidGX, on 06/04/2008, -2/+4I think sony used up all their success on the PS2.
- petebot, on 06/05/2008, -0/+2You should listen to your friend Billy Zane, he's a cool dude.
- TheThirdLevel, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2My N64 still works :p
- mrgreen4242, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2The only reason Wii games look like PS2 titles is they are shovelware ports or projects moved to the Wii from PS2 development. The Wii will, eventually, get better looking games and the PS2 will never really get anything better than it already has.
Not discounting the fact that the PS2 is still a good buy, it's a cheap way to get lots of exclusive games (if you've never had a PS2) but I wouldn't go dragging the Wii into this. - RubineBoy, on 06/04/2008, -0/+1Why is it that people still buy a PS2? Is it because of the price? I can't imagine why you would buy a PS2 if you can buy a PS3. Better graphics, newer games, ... Please someone tell me.
I have a wii and I bought the thing just for the way you play a game, not for the graphics. But the gameplay between PS2 and PS3 is the same, so ... - neltharion1, on 06/04/2008, -0/+1Awww, I want one T_T
- jacksons98, on 06/04/2008, -0/+1It's not outselling PS3, but it is outselling X360.
- hpcjosh, on 06/04/2008, -1/+2well i guess we'll just wait for PSP2 or PSP 2.0 or whatever they're gonna call it
