- Falldog, on 02/28/2008, -12/+45Two Kotaku stories on Digg. Posted within 2 minutes of each other. Both with the same basic title premise. Both with nearly the same amount of digs. Conspiracy?
(Posting in both stories for Monk like symmetry) - coheedcollapse, on 02/28/2008, -3/+29It's also coming out on the PS3 with higher resolutions:
"1Up is also reporting that the PSN version of Rearmed will feature higher-resolution textures than the Xbox Live version. This is due to Microsoft's 150MB limit for games on Xbox Live Arcade putting restrictions on the file size of the game's textures. It's nice to know that Capcom won't have to compromise the quality of the game for the PlayStation Network. We just wonder whether the game will feature a 5GB install ..."
Also, on topic of this, couldn't all three of these "X can make home really really cool" have been integrated into one post and submitted one time. I mean, it's nice to see PS3 getting it's time to shine on the front page, but really? I'd be saying the same thing if it were either of the other consoles. - xTRUMANx, on 02/28/2008, -6/+28Who gives a bloody ***** what gives you a reason to buy a PS3? Why do people need to keep saying a comment like that as if every PS3 article is an advertisement enticing you to buy a PS3.
- blackhole82, on 02/28/2008, -1/+23so when is home actually coming out?
- MutatedNantuko, on 02/28/2008, -14/+28Do you get to ethnically cleanse Home for the almighty master race?
- sugarhigh4242, on 02/28/2008, -2/+16Bioshock on the xbox360 is still my favorite of the "next-generation", but Uncharted is really great. I think Uncharted has more potential for diverse gameplay, which may boost the sequel(s) to the top.
Lets see Atlantis next! - inactive, on 02/28/2008, -12/+25Uncharted is the best game I have seen on either xbox or ps3. There are some rather fun games on xbox 360. But I could literally not even pause Uncharted. It really draws you in. If Sony can keep popping out games like Uncharted they may actually make me feel like the $600 I spent on their system was worth it.
- WhereAmI, on 02/28/2008, -7/+20It would be awesome to be able to place some of the treasures you found in your room.
(BELOW IS A SPOLIER TO THE GAME)
And it would be even better if we could put up a statue of El Dorado if we beat the game 100% on hardest settings, and people that come in your room turn into a descendant creature for a minute or so. - twiztidsinz, on 02/28/2008, -16/+28How many times is the "How Makes Home Really, Really Cool" post by squidofman going to hit the front page?
I count at least 3..
Digg = ***** - PleaseJustDie, on 02/28/2008, -5/+16Yahtzee's review of Uncharted reference.
- santasing, on 02/28/2008, -0/+11All 3 stories on Kotaku have the same title except for the name of the game.
- WhereAmI, on 02/28/2008, -4/+13There are actually three, and one is on the front page (at the time of this posting and probably still is there but I don't know about the other two.)
- dmallymally, on 02/28/2008, -2/+11The funny thing about Uncharted is when I played the downloadable demo for it, i really didn't like it, i thought it was awful. But then i rented it and i absolutely loved it. Its the first game i've beaten in a while.
- cthellis, on 02/28/2008, -1/+9SOME things they should have had at launch, certainly (like universal Friend list access and supported communication from within any game), but Home...? That's a pretty damn huge project, so expecting something like THAT at launch is pretty silly. Huge products and service updates should freely come out whenever they can come out and not suck. ;-)
- twiztidsinz, on 02/28/2008, -4/+11Yes but how many do we need that are essentially advertising that 'home will be really, really cool'?
- walnutthewise, on 02/28/2008, -2/+8It is nice to sit back and enjoy the features of each console if you have all of them. The bickering becomes pointless then.
- stepfresh, on 02/28/2008, -2/+8YOU'RE - its not hard.
- v0yeur, on 02/28/2008, -2/+8IT'S harder than you think
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -0/+6While Fable 2 will probably be the best western fantasy game ever, when it is released, I am unwilling to give it that status before it is released, reviewed and played by me. I have been burnt too many times by games that looked great in concept but then never delivered.
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -3/+9Yes, because sharing one's opinion on Digg story submissions = trolling.
- DoTheFandango, on 02/28/2008, -5/+10Gears of War? Just because its a PC game too doesn't remove its console exclusivity.
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -5/+10I agree. We get it, Home (if it ever comes out) should be "really, really cool!" for the 3 featured games.
- schwallman, on 02/28/2008, -3/+8i guess i don't understand what digg is really about. why do people make a big deal about a story being repeated a few times on the front page. And whats the big deal about making it on the front page. Do you win money? Now I don't sit in front of my computer all day refreshing digg to even know if a story is repeated. So I guess if your on digg that much during the day where you can see a story repeated then maybe your the ones with problems. I have not once seen a story repeated on the front page. I guess I'm to busy working to notice.
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -4/+9Sony's answer to Live is Home (which isn't even out yet). Sony is the one that needs to get it in gear.
Loving a "game" and buying the hype before it is even out is why most games are crap. - inactive, on 02/28/2008, -3/+8I'm agreeing with you, hence I listed it. SOS84 "forgot" a lot of 360 exclusives (only some of which are on the PC). Namely, BioShock, Blue Dragon, Crackdown, Forza Motorsport 2, Lost Odyssey, Shadowrun, Viva Pinata, Project Gotham Racing 4, all of which where not mentioned.
- xXGeechXx, on 02/28/2008, -1/+5Interesting, I didn't much enjoy the demo either... I planned on renting it regardless hopefully I also enjoy it.
- dandonia, on 02/28/2008, -3/+7Kotaku should have put them all in the same artical
- BabyWookie, on 02/28/2008, -0/+4That's what she said.
- Scrappy1850, on 02/28/2008, -4/+8how does home prevent you from playing games? if you dont want to use home, just play resistance. PS3 doesnt have home INSTEAD of games, its there WITH the games.
- mattyice11, on 02/28/2008, -3/+7Gears of War on the PC is a total mess. It may be available, but that doesn't put it in the same league as the 360 version. Read the Epic forums...it's nothing but stories of people losing their single player game saves and constant crashing. The multiplayer scene on GoW PC is completely dead as well. There is no reason to own the PC version if you have a 360.
Bioshock PC wasn't a total mess, but still had some major problems (I own the PC version). I had to lower my resolution to 1024x768 before going into a bathosphere or the game would crash...every time. I'd then raise my resolution after the load was finished. Bioshock was a better game on 360.
Also keep in mind that Gears, Halo, Mass Effect, and Bioshock all scored higher than Uncharted, Resistance, Ratchet and Warhawk. Just because it's 4 vs 4 doesn't make it a tie. - inactive, on 02/28/2008, -1/+5While I emphatically agree with you, that system would still cost more than a xbox. Also, the xbox (or ps3 for that matter) provides a different experience than a computer. While I could hook a pc up to my tv without any issue (my tv has DVI and VGA ports) I still think I would rather have an xbox at my computer desk (in addition to my computer) than the other way around.
But either way, this is the best time to be a gamer for as far back as I can remember. - SOS84, on 02/28/2008, -1/+5danielvmn has really got to stop making things up. Kind of like the fool who said that Gears of War for the PC was full of bugs, it is not. daniel, I have played Team Fortress 2 on my old computer with a Pentium 4, and an X600 pro on higher settings than you claim. Don't embarrass yourself, there are people out there who know better. Gotta love the fanboys (aka, "hooting dickholes").
- AvidPreatorian, on 02/28/2008, -6/+9good, we on psn don't want you. get back to halo
- kinseyincanada, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4The only reason for me not to get a PS3 is that im poor :(
- krische, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4Sony is a person with a dick? Whoa where have I been.
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -2/+5Well right now Settlers of Catan is free as well....
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3Just remember, it took me nearly two months of asking people to plus rate me after that one single time I left a network game early. OMG the voice mail they sent me was beyond abusive. LOL.
- stepfresh, on 02/28/2008, -2/+5Oh god.. who really cares? The process goes like this: buy console. enjoy it. - no where in there does it say 'bitch about competing consoles'
- stepfresh, on 02/28/2008, -1/+4i only played the demo at a friend's house after loving the full game - i found the analog stick controls a lot more jerky and difficult, perhaps that's why you preferred the full game?
- loganhid, on 02/28/2008, -8/+11don't get one then. your missing out
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -5/+8And Fable 2.... It seems to me the 360 still has far more/better exclusives.
- vw195, on 02/28/2008, -6/+9I agree. Uncharted was cool, but Bioshock was the best game on either console that I have played
- inactive, on 02/28/2008, -2/+4And if you ever played Shadowrun you would know that even with autoaim, the mouse players still won on the draw with the gamepad players. But team based FPS is all about strategy and team work, and twitch had VERY LITTLE to do with your team winning or not...
- shinythingy, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Yahtzee doesn't like anything unless its made by Valve
- danielvmn, on 02/28/2008, -1/+3You gotta be kidding, I have a x1650Pro and i can barely play Team Fortress 2 with medium resolution and steady framerate.
- ChildeRoland420, on 02/28/2008, -1/+3I think in a few years (when EA gets their thumbs out of their asses) we'll see some awesome things being done in Home with their big name franchises (like Madden).
- mriegger, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2http://www.mcvuk.com/interviews/186/INTERVIEW-Davi ...
"spring" - bj00rn, on 02/29/2008, -0/+2It's a Sony viral and Kotaku collaboration - With a hint of PS3 fan-itis.
- twiztidsinz, on 02/28/2008, -4/+6too lazy
