When you sign up for a PSN account, the terms of agreement clearly states that Sony reserves the right to block/ban/cancel accounts for inappropriate conduct with other PSN account holders. This guy was warned not once, not twice but THREE times and did not stop. And what kind of 'social interaction' is it when you're just trash talking. Thats not making friends buddy. Also you have to prove that Sony caused $55k in damages. You don't have freedom of speech on other people's property.
This kid is obviously an uneducated fool. His lawyer doesn't care because he gets paid either way. Sony may very well counter sue for legal fees. And they'll probably win. In theory you can sue anyone for any reason and not have to worry about getting charged legal fees when you lose. I have sympathy for his agoraphobia, but it doesn't give him an excuse to use the network as a toilet for him to unload his verbal diarrhea.
