- trc0, on 12/29/2007, -6/+44"Horrible, boring and cliché from the very first title"
and yet you're excited about another GTA game? - triplehelix, on 12/29/2007, -5/+37technically yes, but from a user standpoint, they won't be noticeable at all.
- Birdoftruth, on 12/29/2007, -6/+29Hah DMC was not cliche. It redefined the beat em up genre for the 3d console generation. I just see you as a X360 fanboy.
- wild, on 12/29/2007, -1/+23I read what you said, but I am failing to understand why I should care or what your point was.
- xOKxWhy, on 12/29/2007, -9/+28I'm shocked there won't be Playstation Network content on Live.
- shinythingy, on 12/29/2007, -8/+26i prefer GTA over DMC but even i can agree to this
- wiifm69, on 12/29/2007, -1/+19Was there a point in that rambling?
- phronko, on 12/29/2007, -9/+26I fail to see how console exclusivity is ever "good news" for anybody (as the article says it is). Even if someone only owns a PS3, how is their experience of the game at all affected by what Xbox 360 owners are missing out on? Do they enjoy the game more knowing that other people are enjoying it less?
Or is this some weird psychological thing that has nothing to do with the game itself? Like, "exclusive content shows that the console I happened to choose to buy is generally better than the console other people chose to buy". But that's retarded.
Sure, I'll buy the version that's got the best content, and in this case that's nice for Sony. But for me as a consumer, all I'll think is that I wish people with other consoles could enjoy the game as much as I am. Exclusivity doesn't benefit me at all. - obelisky, on 12/29/2007, -3/+17explain stolen?
- Aensland, on 12/29/2007, -1/+14He just said it... "technically yes", and "but from a user standpoint...". I don't see where he was claiming that LOADING DATA itself is not needed.
- synce, on 12/29/2007, -4/+17Damn, this guy brought GTA4 into a DMC4 topic. Talk about insecure. Enjoy your Xbox 360 and shut up, please.
- GorEjaKz, on 12/29/2007, -6/+16GTA is probably the dumbest game out there. Learning how to act like a gangster doesn't get you anywhere. Especially with the repetitive ***** graphics. The storyline is just something thrown in there to make it look less like *****.
- frygar, on 12/29/2007, -3/+13I respect what you're saying, but as a PS3 only owner, I'm happy to hear this bit of news, as a lot of the EA ports to PS3 have been less than stellar. It's not that I'd gloat over the 360 getting an inferior version of DMC4, it's more that I'm happy to see this title using the PS3's hardware to its advantage and not getting a rushed port.
Still, I think you're the bigger man for having said what you did. Respect. =) - coheedcollapse, on 12/29/2007, -4/+13I think he was just upset about the fact that it's been pretty much confirmed that Microsoft paid for Bioshock exclusivity as well as the addon packs for GTA. Not totally sure though.
- JayD16, on 12/29/2007, -3/+12They're saying that having this data on the hard drive will eliminate loading screens. Things will still have to load during cut scenes and in the background but you'll never see it.
- AwesomeMonster, on 12/29/2007, -7/+16Don't tell me you or this fellow is too naive to think that sony hasn't bought exclusivity in the past either.
- GorEjaKz, on 12/29/2007, -3/+10Uh, hello? Most non-hardcore gamers wouldn't touch games like Halo just because it's played by the hardcore players. Unless they are willing to become hardcore themselves, it defeats the purpose of calling them non-hardcore.
And seriously, the Halo series isn't that great. That stupid game is overrated. I rather play a game where you'll die in a few shots and not have to spray someone to kill them.
Mario is popular cuz its been out for way too long. More like the earliest mascot of gaming history. Obviously he'd be more popular: to adults and kids alike. - Rousterfar, on 12/29/2007, -1/+8It's no different then how the original Xbox used its HDD to cut load times.
- ShugNinx21, on 12/29/2007, -0/+7It can speed up loading time somewhat if the HD has faster transfer speeds than the optical media drive.
- Sornos, on 12/29/2007, -3/+10Well, duh. Do you think games are exclusive out the goodness of the developers hearts?
- LooseSeal, on 12/29/2007, -4/+11What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
- kamikazecow, on 12/29/2007, -0/+7Unless Nvidia takes over development, don't count on it. DMC 3 wasn't all that good on PC
- specialK16, on 12/29/2007, -2/+9Lets face it, PS3s are actually being sold....
- kamikazecow, on 12/29/2007, -1/+8I think i see where you are coming from, so wouldn't this same concept be applied to the PC version of the game?
- Sedako, on 12/29/2007, -0/+6Capcom learns well from their mistakes. DMC3 was great.
- krische, on 12/29/2007, -3/+9You try Uncharted yet? Try downloading the demo, it's a lot of fun.
- JayD16, on 12/29/2007, -2/+8Its only cliche because everything ended up copying it.
- phronko, on 12/29/2007, -1/+7You would have had a good argument (that exclusivity allows for better games by focusing on the strengths of a specific console), but you ruined it with a weird random burst of hatred.
If your PS3 is causing you to hate people, maybe you should send it back. - wafflez, on 12/29/2007, -1/+6lol, that aside, I believe the significant difference is the saved content on the hdd to mask loading times.
- JayD16, on 12/29/2007, -5/+10DVD and bluray are about the same. The outside of a DVD loads faster then blurays but the inside doesn't. I've never seen any statistics to show which is definitively better though.
- whyufail, on 12/29/2007, -7/+12Funny, I thought it was a game system, not a status symbol. But hey, maybe I'm wrong, Sony doesn't even quite seem to know what to market it as.
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -1/+5I heard there was exclusive content for both versions...
- phronko, on 12/29/2007, -6/+10If fanboys put the energy they spend on promoting their system of choice into making money, they could probably afford to buy more than one console.
There's no law saying you have to choose one console and stick with it for life, you know. - InfinitySnatch, on 12/29/2007, -2/+6You're an idiot. It can help reduce load times, something the 360 can't do because every game for it has to be designed to cater to the lowest common denominator (non-HDD 360s).
- JudgeMonkey, on 12/29/2007, -0/+4Care to elaborate? Even if they made the ps3 version and ultra smooth sexy super happy fun time joy ride, and the 360 version just a stick figure jamming a stick in it's ass. That speaks for Capcom. Far too much awesome has graced the 360 to even consider it crap.
- GorEjaKz, on 12/29/2007, -0/+4Truly a masterpiece. Capcom has been around for too long to make the same mistake twice.
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -1/+5WAIT WAIT WAIT. You bought a 360 with the HD-dvd and your calling the PS3 an overpriced piece. You should take a look back at the prices there buddy.
- specialK16, on 12/29/2007, -1/+5I don't exactly agree with Gor, but c'mon, GTA is great, it's AWESOME, but it is HIGHLY overrated.
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -0/+4The oblivion devs denied that was the method they used, as it would do nothing on bluray since load times are constant across the entire disc
- whateverHeSaid, on 12/29/2007, -7/+11http://digg.com/playstation/Devil_May_Cry_4_lookin ...
- Tomson74, on 12/29/2007, -5/+9how?
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -2/+6PS3 is getting those too. That's one of the big reasons behind Home.
- keepinithamsta, on 12/29/2007, -3/+6I own both and feel the same way, except I won't be buying either version if they are going to short-change the version I prefer.
- specialK16, on 12/29/2007, -1/+4And, what's the point again?
Oh yeah, rambling about your xbox 360 and looking for a way to feel better since you don't have a ps3. - frygar, on 12/29/2007, -11/+14There's a lot of butthurt going on over this tidbit of info. Whassamatta, fanboys? Pissed that the console you hate is getting some good news? Poor babies.
- MarrowMan, on 12/29/2007, -1/+4Wow you sound like a bratty rich spoiled kid! Go cut your wrists you Emo haired freak of nature!!!!
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -1/+4Those who own both would be stupid to get the 360 version. Don't let system loyalty make you buy the inferior version.
- airwalkery2k, on 12/29/2007, -5/+8What kind of a strange person would get angry over a console losing exclusive rights to a game by allowing it to expand to other consoles? And further, how would some features make somebody as whacked as that feel better?
- keepinithamsta, on 12/29/2007, -2/+5What exclusive PS3 games are you playing? I'd like to know so I can have fun with my PS3..
- sakuraz, on 12/29/2007, -1/+4Lower development cost.
Shorter development cycle.
Focused developers.
Exploitation of the hardware, instead of using the Lowest Common Denominators.
Whichever way you look at, the cost and the quality will be sacrificed for non-exclusive games, without heavy investment. -
