    • SydneyBristow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6For those of you that enjoyed this type of game, this flash game is inspired by warcraft 3 mods that are usually titled "xxxxx TD" , "xxxx Tower Defense", or "xxxx Maul." For example, Pokemaul or Azure Tower Defense would be two examples of tower defense games. If you'd like to play full screen versions of this game that are much better, try picking up warcraft 3 (frozen throne expansion is also recommended but not necessary) and joining some custom games that go by those names I mentioned above.       And YES it is a spin off of the many popular "Tower Defense" type games from Blizzard's Warcraft III and Starcraft, it's been posted many times...

      BTW, I discovered this more in-depth version of this kind of game a few weeks back and have been meaning to post it. It's a standalone version of the game with better graphics and it's own UI and leveling up system. I give you Master of Defense:

      Hope you like it! Just shows the ability of indie games and how much fun you can have without shelling out big bucks to large, overrated studios. Check out the website (gametunnel.com) in the second link if you enjoyed this game so much, because it is great way to discover other awesome indie games of all kinds of genres. I recommend you click the "Game of the Year" link in the green bar near the top of the site to get started finding other games, as it will show you various top quality examples of indie games in a multitude of categories. FYI, my all-time favorite indie game by far is Crimsonland - a top down shooter with various game types, leveling up, big guns, aliens, and as the name implies, lots of blood. I've spent days playing that game and it's still fun. I'll warn you though, if this defense game addicted you, be cautious of Crimsonland, as it will leave you "comfortably numb" for quite awhile. Sorry, long post. Hehe!

      These were FAR more popular as Starcraft games before Warcraft III ever came out :-P.

      So, I suppose it would be the this was inspired by Warcraft III Mods which were inspired by Starcraft Use Map Settings Games.

      As I said earlier, make sure you visit his site (http://novelconcepts.co.uk/FlashElementTD) and click on an ad or two. He asked that we not link directly to the flash file, but I think everybody clicking an ad would be enough to keep him happy. Besides, playing it that small just isn't the same.

I went to http://www.eletd.com, as atloose suggested, to try the war3 map and it has become one of my favorite custom maps now. Anyone with The Frozen Throne should pick it up and give it a try. :)

On the site after you submit your score, the developer said something about the game being "on a diet" to save bandwidth. So, maybe that's why. All I know the #1 scoring person has +10 hours of play under their belt. That's just nuts.

The last round of guys I fought off were worth like 10,000hp or something stupid, or was that the level before my last? The comment I got was "how are you still alive?" Answer: 7 upgraded rocket towers in the middle of the map.

      air/land combo towers are a must. upgrade to fire, and then sell the 39power towers, replacing with fire towers. with the rest of your wood, upgrade the interest and make sure you maximize cash available every round. watch out for the fast movers!

      the problem is, the school computers probably don't have firefox. probably IE w/o a flashplayer plugin, and no access rights to install it.
      so, at home, copy the file: 'C:Program FilesMozilla Firefox' (it's around 20-25mb)(make sure you got the flash plugin!!!!) and put it on your flashdrive or whatever you have.
      to get the flash game in firefox:
      1. press ctrl-U for the source (or right-click: view page source)
      2. press ctrl-F to search
      3. type '.swf' into the search bar at the bottom
      4. you will probably get a URL, if you get a macromedia download thing hit next.
      when you do get the game's URL, copy and paste it into the address bar. then, file->save page as
      at school, click-drag the SWF you saved to firefox.exe in the Mozilla Firefox folder and play away! the screen is elastic, you can make it big for your viewing pleasure or small to hide.
