The Best Cereal Box PC Game Ever!
caiman.us — If you haven't played it, it's really addicting (well when I was younger). But ya, I don't think that you can find this game in a Chex Cereal Box anymore.

- bagpipegoatee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Very interesting game and free download. I just hope whatever server they have can take it.
- DavGerm4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I downloaded it, and it's a .rar file. I installed it and it works great. Totally a great game.
- 0siris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31It was one of the best games i ever played... It was a doom mod based on cereal. I cant imagine anything better then doom+breakfast.
- spocky, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26oh man this game brings back such memories...
- jamison18, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19The download speed takes me back too. :) .5kb/s... ahh the gold old days of doom and aol
- robtowne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I loved this game! thanks for the post. For some reason this reminds me of the DOS game "Terminal Velocity"...a real classic. Not from a cereal box, but still great!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminal_Velocity_(computer_game)
download it here
http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/185 - vsayuni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Another download site, since the original is lagging.

I remember when Terminal Velocity was used as a benchmark for PC Gamer. Great classic game. - l337fanboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Download contains both the original and the second.

- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Mostly, it reminds me of the days when nothing was avaliable for macs.
- Fordi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@TheWorm:
What, a week last thursday? - carpeclunes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember playing this game back in the day... I can still quote it: "Have no fear, all is not lost."
- rocke86, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36This game is awesome I played it a lot when it came out, thanks for posting.
Now could someone with XNA port this to Xbox Live Arcade? That would rock- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16To port it you'd need the source code....
- bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I bet if a company did it, they'd make a ton of money. The game was/is amazing.
- SimianSamurai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I give it two opposable thumbs up!
- Fordi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It runs off a standard DOOM engine. I was just playing it via Chocolate DOOM (had to rename CHEX.WAD to DOOM1.WAD, but otherwise, null poit). In other words, an XBOX Live port shouldn't be hard; just port over the SDL calls.
- Xspire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's funny how this was the first FPS that I ever played. lol. I remember playing this when I was like 8.
- igibson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33wow, this takes me way back - definately a classic
- aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I totally beat this game when it was new, Its a surprisingly good game for its day.
Cereal companies need to do more like this. Maybe include simple gamecube or xbox games as well. - bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Like Burger King! Yeah!
- MakutaBloodlust, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1***** yeah. a large fries and a Halo! those crappy McD's toys don't cut it. ("it really flys!")(if I THROW it, yeah. then it "really smashes!")
- aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I totally beat this game when it was new, Its a surprisingly good game for its day.
- cyrusthevirus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Wow, I remember this from high school. This was, by far, the best free PC game from that era. I played through it at least 20-30 times on my dad's PII. The sequel? Not so much...
I remember the "flem"-banishing equivalent to Doom's BFG 9000... *Sigh* Those were the days...- 0x0000ff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12the BFG replacement was called the Large Area Zorcher Device. Something like that anyway
- TheDrunkMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4As soon as I read the title I immediately knew that it was referring to this game.
Best ever.
- jsdratm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I remember playing this game. It is amazing for a cereal box game!
- spookyttws, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10hell yeah! i haven't played this in years!
- kob0724, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18OMG I LOVED CHEX QUEST!!!!!! This is amazing! They took doom and made cereal out of it.
- Vouksh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Imp-O's! A *hell*ashice part of a well-balanced frag-fest!
(i have no idea how to actually spell that word)
- Vouksh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Imp-O's! A *hell*ashice part of a well-balanced frag-fest!
- Xorsist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Man i remember this from like 5th grade, i used to play it all the time
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -25/+2HELP!!!! My norton said warning Exploit.DCOM-RPC.A. detected in chexquest.zip
What should I do guys?!?!- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35Get rid of norton and replace it with avg?
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -23/+0What?
- greekgoat91, on 10/12/2007, -22/+1avg sucks, Bit Defender ftw
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12replace your anti-virus software with common sense?
- marsrover21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ tene: What common sense? The common sense to trust some site that was dugg? I'm sure blindly trusting diggers will lead to riches beyond belief.
- MrFoodMonster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12***** CHEX QUEST! This game is so rad!
- otatop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23I knew this was going to be Chex Quest just from the title. Damn, that game was awesome.
*downloads* - NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3This game was awesome, best video game offered with a food product prior to the Burger King Xbox games.
- PigThief, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Wow, I remember this game. As soon as I saw the title of this article, I thought of Chex Quest! Thanks so much!
Is this virus free? Just making sure...- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Yes, you get a free virus with every download.
- Fordi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well, first off, the executable is for DOS, so I wouldn't be worried about a virus that can affect a modern system. Second off, you can play it via any number of DOOM source ports for windows. In fact, I was just playing it via Chocolate DOOM. (Download Chex and the win32 version of chocDOOM, copy CHEX.WAD into chocDOOM, and rename to DOOM.WAD - it's like eating chex in a bowl of chocolate milk!)
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@Fordi don't use the win32 chocolate doom, use the win32 doom legacy. It's much better, chocolate doom seems to be a project aiming to re-create "vanilla" doom which is pretty silly since we've come quite far from Doom, Legacy allows mouse aiming and jumping =O
- SuperHyperKid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15One of my favorite games of all time. Guys remember, the original is a .WAD based game, and IS playable on iPod Linux and Rockbox.. Try it.
- LotusStarscream, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7OMFG, I cannot believe other people have played this game...and will admit it. When I was a lad I played the ***** out of this game. Ahh the memories.
- thtroyer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yup. My first 'FPS'. :D
- TheOneGreatX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Oh man, I remember this game. There was a sequel, too, i think. It was just as good.
- asyluman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I always talk about this game AND NOW I HAVE IT AGAIN.
WOO. - PirateMonk3y, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8YES!! CHEX QUEST IS AMAZING! I still have this game in my basement somewhere in the packaging it came in any everything. GO CHEX QUEST!
- Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8lol, my dad went and bought like 5 boxes that had the cd's in them.
I still have my disk for it around here somewhere...anyone remember the super bootspork? :D - iamthewalrus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7this game kicks ass
i played it all the time when i was younger. i actually GOT A REAL COPY OUT OF A CHEX BOX. those were the days. the super bootspork would warp some serious alien ass. i always preferred the phasing zorcher, though, cause i was a little trigger-happy 10 year old kid.
now if only they'd give chex box steam accounts... - supremechees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5HELL YES! i remember this game! it kicks ass!
- nismo334, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yes!!! I loved this game!!! so glad it's back in action. I hope it gets super popular with the geek scene, this game is awesome!
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5oh my god, I just played this the other day. Found it along with the original Blake stome wolf pack. Good stuff.
I remember the old 386 had problems playing it though.... - dainbramage559, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5One time, as a kid, I encountered a bug in the game when starting a new game. It gave me a chapter selection, featuring "Knee Deep in the Dead"... Hmm, wonder how that got there.
*edit*
However, trying to jump into it from there caused the program to crash.- 0x0000ff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5probably something to do with it being a .wad for Ultimate Doom
:p
there I go stating the obvious again!
- 0x0000ff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5probably something to do with it being a .wad for Ultimate Doom
- NYIslander, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I actually have a CD-ROM of the game but only played it recently after finding out of its cult status (Technally it was my first CD-ROM even though I didn't have a computer with it back then in '94). If it is as good as people say it is , I may actually try to play it on a computer with a monitor that doesn't suck. Are there other cult games I should be playing as well?
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You played it without a monitor? Hope the sound was plugged in...
- SmashingTool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5WOOT. I had lost the CD a long long time ago. This is a great discovery
- sparkmonkeyz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6OMFG!!!! I loved this game. Dang, that was back when the only two good games I had for the PC was Chex Quest and Need For Speed. My friend had Wolfentstein 3D and Raptor and stuff, but that was back when I was a youngin, and my mom wouldn't let me get them.
Good times, good times... - itsawebsite22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I forget what happened to my CD... but I found there's this DooM Legacy conversion for Chex Quest AND Chex Quest 2 with OpenGL and some other upgrades in the making at:
http://www.doomlegends.com/chexquest - Zeusandhera, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I just ran up to my attic, I still have my copy of the game!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/zeusandhera/325547702/- greekgoat91, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11that will sell on ebay for more than PS3s are going for
- Chaotyk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Heh, anybody else love how the CD advertises 50 free hours on AOL 3.0?
- bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I have the original CD for this. I remember when it came out- my brother and I were little nooblets and he moved and I shot. Then we got Chex Quest 2. That was just as amazing.
- davidlwdn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This game was awesome! The day I found it I ended up getting to school way later than normal. It was worth it. This is crazy because I was just thinking about this game the other day and I'm so psyched to play it again.
- iskatebad914, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3holy ***** i used to play this all the time when i was like 7! haha blast from the past
- jamesey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3my parents still have the CD at home. I cant believe so many other people played and remember it
- bekeleven, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Anybody remember Amazon Trail? that was awesome, I played it for hours. *that* is the best cereal box game.
The Jaguar is pleased...- bs0l, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Oregon Trail was awesome. Best way to waste time in school. Our schools just got rid of it like last year. I made it with 1 ox and meager meals. Yeah, thats how little we did in school.
- HAKdragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Didn't the original also contain the original Doom .wad files?
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Anybody have another download link? This one's going at 1.5 KB/s
I think we're killing it. - multipotential, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I loved this game. I beat it twice back in the day. I loved the powered rotating spoon thing. lol.

- Thefoshe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This game rocked.
- l337fanboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I can't believe that this game resurrfaced on digg!! I'm sure if I searched long enough I could come up with the original CD's too.
