- Kalakov, on 09/13/2008, -3/+75Diablo 3 will be out after 2010...
Its blizzard they will only release it when you can smell the epicness off it like Diablo II. - Kenelm, on 09/13/2008, -4/+60This "could" be possible. When looking at StarCraft II, it really looks like it's far from being finished, just like Diablo III. And I wouldn't be surprised if Diablo III was released like a few months before.
But seriously, I don't give a *****, both make me wet myself. Give me one already. - control98408, on 09/13/2008, -1/+57They've only announced 2 characters for Diablo III and there are already playable builds of SCII in conventions, so this seems a little backwards.
- bagelmaster, on 09/13/2008, -0/+432010 makes sense. They just officially announced the game a few months ago and Blizzard is notorious for having games in production for a long ass time.
- jcaffoe, on 09/13/2008, -0/+34being worked on by a miniscule amount of people means it is CLOSER to release.
have some sense, people... - kupa, on 09/13/2008, -1/+29Wow, misleading title much? All this said was that more of Blizzard is working on Diablo III right now, then SC2. Which sort of makes sense if you consider where SC2 is at now in it's development and where D3 is.
- Fabbyfubz, on 09/13/2008, -1/+26Stay a while and listen

YOU'RE TOO LATE!
NOT EVEN DEATH CAN SAVE YOU FROM ME!
MY BROTHERS SHALL NOT HAVE DIED IN VAIN! - Stevethegreat, on 09/13/2008, -1/+21Or that Starcraft 2 will come along with Duke Nukem Forever....
- Crimsoneer, on 09/13/2008, -1/+17RUMOUR: GUESSING ROCKS!
- datagod, on 09/13/2008, -4/+20One of my all time favorite gaming memories: "Please...listen to me..."
(it was the wounded dude on the ground in front of the entrance to the dungeon in Diablo) - alby13, on 09/13/2008, -0/+16They are still working on the Horadric Cube recipes.
- vawksel, on 09/13/2008, -2/+17If there is truth to this article, this is one way of thinking about it.
Starcraft 2 might be further developed as far as the engine, sound and artwork goes than D3, however, Starcraft 2 requires an immense amount of testing, many magnitudes more than D3 does. The reason? To balance the game play. S2 was often revered as the best balanced RTS of all time, and boasted 3 sides to choose from further complicating things.
Diablo 3 doesn't require hundreds of thousands or even millions of test hours before launch because the game doesn't have even 1/10th the knobs to tune like an RTS does.
The last thing Blizzard wants is to release an unbalanced RTS game thats worse than SC2. They have to take the last 10+ years of gameplay styles people have developed (e.g. Korea :), and make sure things still work right in the new game.
They basically have to play-test and tune SC2 a magnitude of ten times or more than D3. Which can mean D3 launch before S2.
Does this make sense to anyone? Or is it just me? :) - MrM4nager, on 09/13/2008, -0/+14Just release one of them soon. Just one.
- trevah, on 09/13/2008, -1/+15You guys have to stop posting stories about D3. I only have a limited amount of undergarments and the nerdgasms are starting to get a little out of control.
- staffell, on 09/13/2008, -2/+15I don't care which one is going to be released first.
I want to know WHEN they're coming out. - MetalCharms, on 09/13/2008, -1/+13And that's about the only successful thing it did
- toastjam, on 09/13/2008, -0/+11Exactly! Once all the assets are there, the artists, musicians, and other raw content generators can go home. It's the programmers and game designers that labor through the final crunch to get things working just right and put the project to bed. (I worked at a game company for 3 years)
- kenyan, on 09/13/2008, -0/+10Which is why it'll actually come out.
- donnyouyang, on 09/13/2008, -0/+8funny....
- RoguEar, on 09/13/2008, -12/+20Yeah right......
- HamSandwich, on 09/14/2008, -0/+7Well, if they have, I wouldn't blame them. If I had a machine that printed money, I'd work on keeping that sucker running, too...
- bullhead2007, on 09/13/2008, -0/+7If you've ever waited for a Blizzard game you know not to believe in rumors.
I don't believe anything about a Blizzard game unless it comes from Blizzard. - Seth024, on 09/13/2008, -0/+7Blizzard, if you need more people to playtest SC2: we're all here waiting for your call.
- trevah, on 09/13/2008, -1/+8This is the internet. The only place where information comes from here: pulled straight from his ass.
- Sornos, on 09/13/2008, -1/+7Stay a while and listen!
- cerealjynx, on 09/13/2008, -1/+7I'd be fine with that. I'm perfectly rabid to play either.
- Rudegar, on 09/13/2008, -1/+7soon after newyear 2010
- angers, on 09/13/2008, -0/+6you may be right, but just because they announced a couple characters, doens't mean that don't have all the characters finished. as far I know, they are still balancing gameplay in both Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, adding content to Diablo 3 (Act 2+), and still working on the audio for Starcraft 2. it all depends how long it takes to balance the games, and finish adding the content.
- steelclash84, on 09/13/2008, -1/+7Thank goodness you've returned!
- Zarokima, on 09/13/2008, -1/+6And there is at least one playable build of Diablo 3 from when they were showing off the Barbarian and the new health/mana orb things.
- toastjam, on 09/13/2008, -0/+5Explain how D3 would have more balance issues? In SC3 every units needs to be balanced against every other single unit and even combinations of units. That's more than n^2 complexity where n is the number of unit types!
In Diablo 3, the few human playable characters just need to be balanced against enemies and vice versa. Not simple, but still linear complexity, as every most every new enemy just needs to be balanced against maybe a half dozen pc types. - cerealjynx, on 09/13/2008, -1/+5lol, I remember reading that Ghost was going to be the first multiplatform game for PS2 Gamecube and Xbox.
- seraph75, on 09/13/2008, -13/+17i'm glad. i want diablo III more than sc2 anyway
- maerc, on 09/14/2008, -1/+5Well it might be true.
It's just that neither of them will be here for another 8 years anyway, so what does it matter? - Gregus1032, on 09/13/2008, -0/+4not to mention they said they've only finished act 1 and starting act 2. there will probably be 4-5 acts (not including the probable expansion pack)
- aksn1p3r, on 09/13/2008, -2/+6Hey, we want it now!
Public beta come on, Spore successfully did it! - ry4nsm1th, on 09/13/2008, -0/+4Thereisnocowlevel.
- h4mx0r, on 09/13/2008, -0/+4It's going to be worth it though. One of the most rewarding things about being a game designer is knowing that thousands of players will be enjoying your work. Whoever has put in 10+ years of work on the starcraft series is definitely going to look back proudly on their achievement.
- xbxoxy1, on 09/13/2008, -0/+4i hope i includes a new cow level
- JayRD, on 09/13/2008, -0/+4As much as I wish this were true, they stated BNet 2 would debut with StarCraft II. This was stated on the main SCII board a few months back by an official. But I could be wrong (hopefully).
- mustang460, on 09/14/2008, -0/+4no your right, and this rumor is garbage
"[Starcraft 2] is still being worked on, but only by a minuscule amount of people compared to what [Blizzard] put on the Diablo 3 team"
blizz employees at the WWI where D3 was announced said in a Q&A session they had roughly the same size team as starcraft, and explained about how blizzard never has huge dev teams on their products, they always keep in the ~40 or so range.
if you hear a rumor "from an inside source" don't believe it unless its from diii.net, previously diabloii.net
as they have many inside sources and have never been wrong with their info
"according to our resident SC2 experts, production of that game has not been slowed or delayed. By everything we've heard from Blizzard guys, SC2 is well ahead of D3 in its development cycle, and the D3 Team has frequently said the new Battle.net 2.0 features should debut with SC2, which clearly means that game will be released before D3."
-from diii.net - CeeJayDK, on 09/13/2008, -0/+4And Elite 4
- inactive, on 09/13/2008, -5/+9like 10 years wasnt long enough. blizzard has lost it, focusing too much on that WoW bs.
- du4l1ty, on 09/14/2008, -0/+4Hey listen! hey! hey! listen!
- h4mx0r, on 09/13/2008, -1/+4No one ever listens to me... :(
- DiggCommando, on 09/14/2008, -1/+4I can see what you see not.
Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone,
Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be,
Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind,
Cast down into the Halls of the Blind. -
