- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31I want this for the DS.
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Man, I made the best setup ever, and I'm going to share it with everyone.
I wasted over an hour on this 'game'
First, you plug up the sand, oil and salt, so it's only the water. Next, you plug up the bottom and put a bunch of spouts. Now, eventually, the water will rise and fill the entire applet. Then you need to put a torch at the bottom left ( In the water ), and a plant and a cup ( with walls ) full of nitro at the top right. Now, what will happen is this. Once the water rises to touch the plant, plant will creep through the water. Once the plant gets all the way through the water, it will touch the torch. The plant will ignite, and will burn outwards. Eventually, the fire will reach the top right, and the nitro in the cup will be ignited. If you want, you can do this without the nitro to get a coool 'ecosystem' of sorts, as the plant eats the water, the water consumes all, and the fire eats the plant. - PhirePhly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10The new elements are good, but many of the old parts of the game don't seem as good. Performance seems weak and the GUI isn't as pretty. Much more garbage in the bottom, mainly from the nitro.
Other than that it's real good. Well earned digg
Kenneth - KevinJ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Processing owns....I made Bomberman this summer using it
- gameguy43, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6coolest setup ever:
clog up the flow of all the stuff at the very top by walling right ontop and right next to them. start putting spouts everywhere. preferably just dots at a time, but i think that a few slightly linger lines help as well. once you have a crazy flow of water going, start dotting plant everywhere. the whole screen should fill up with plant. then put one dot of fire. sit back and enjoy. the plants grow and get burnt and grow back again. at times you may get a quite bushy forest and think that the fires will all go out, or perhaps the other way around, but it never happens, the ecosystem always evens itself out. crazy. you can keep adding more fire and more plants, itll always grow back. themore spouteys you have the better it works. - seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7For those of you who mod him down because you think hes talking about a CPU, hes talking about a java SDK (library? idk, i dont use java) called Processing which has physics functions.
- GrendelT, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Very fun time-killer. Thanks. Dugg
- goat77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4link?
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Although I really enjoy the Zen-like peacefulness of the original Falling Sand Game, this one is pretty fun in a less relaxing way :)
- bug20k1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5you do realize that the wall is made out of concrete right?
- Mizzy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I like these type of games with physics in them. Could anyone else post links of these types of games?
- bug20k1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've wasted 3 hours of my life to this game...
time to waste three more! - Exhumator, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Perhaps not a game per se, but a very fun diversion never-the-less. Dugg.
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Please post a link to an offline version.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Anyone see a possible DS game if hydraulics and other physical attributes and goal-oriented 'sub-games' were implemented?
- kwazyJAS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3there are also zombies
- Exhumator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't think there's a downloadable version of Pyro Sand (yet, unless I missed it in the forums), but here's the normal Sand game, and Hell of Sand (?):

Here's a link to "Burning Sand," looks different, but still cool:
http://www.naglmax.de/ - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Take screenshots of each step of the way and post them!
- gameguy43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2just set it up, thats pretty cool. each time a little plant seems to escape the fier and start growing again, so it goes through this perpetual burning and growing cycle. cool setup!
- TannerLD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah. I'll go for a link too. That version was nice, but interface was a bit icky.
- Helicobacter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Love the nitro
- Ashkc88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Another version of the sand game, dugg. Now I'm gonna waste more hours of my life.
- angers, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7For anyone looking for a quick way to make a cool explosion: In a container, I filled oil and nitro, and a rectangular shaped wax. I lit the wax on fire and waited a bit. Wax burned down and the fire reached the oil and nitro to create an explosion.
- paulwilde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Could that website have anymore ads?
- goggleBOX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have to try "NEW Sand". There is a function call "???" which is a kind of doomsday device. if you set it off and then reset it off again you can get it to continuously cascade. very cool!
- msgyrd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just goes to show you that you don't need great graphics (or even a story) to have a good game.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i prefer wxsand the mods are allways creative and worth playing with
- wicked9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3if this came out on acarde i'd buy it
- Pokelicious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ad-block baby!
- odst29, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nitro may be a little too powerful... naaahhh....
KABOOM! - cryan28, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oh man, and I was about to go to bed...
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1great for a pyromaniac
- gcube9x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A good slow fuse is plant leading up to c-4
- crobinso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1well i WAS going to be productive at work tomorrow......
- HitmanJustin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hahaha I sat there for like a half hour playing that game, I was always intrested by physics, and this game is fun to just experiment with :)
- TheG2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is awesome...
Its like Miners2k all over again...bye bye spare time. - dvdvideo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3seriously great game, i was getting a little board with the original game and the fire was always the fun part.
I DiGG IT - CoolDude330, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too bad this one doesnt have the zombies in it....
- Higgins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Reminds me of Lemmings some how. Maybe because you're manipulating paths with a bunch of fun tools
http://www.ardiri.com/index.php?redir=palm&cat=lemmings - jacobee519, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Downloadable version (EnigmaSand):
http://www.fallingsandgame.com/viewtopic.php?t=696
It's way faster, which in turn makes it more fun :) - MrZop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i can't find a use for Salt. seems pointless
- Thorandor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dugg it, as I need something to do in the office-breaks :D
Seriously though, excellent game design, simple, but very effective - and addictive! - akira117, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23 hrs of my life wasted....
Finally done messing with it. - c4p3n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Definitely not a game, but it is a really cool distraction. Amazing how we can still be amused by tiny, moving, multi-colored pixels.

http://www.helicopter-game.net - krunchy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This implementation has a downloadable version in the forums.
- phort99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gameguy43: There are controls at the bottom-right hand corner to turn off the flow of other particles.
I must have played with this stupid thing for an hour and a half :P - Mac2492, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well "Paint Drying!" would be a NEW game, which is what this game is.
- evilpig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have been sitting here since 2AM, it is nearly 4 now.
- xtremedigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1go here http://pyro-sand.blogspot.com/ for fun things to do with this game... and don't forget to digg me under upcoming stories, or regular, later.
