- theman8631, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40oops (Digg needs delete comment feature)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I think this has been on the digg front page quite a few times. Its a few years old, actually, if I recall right.
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16really old, as in 6 months ago on front page.
and its going to stay free. The same person started quake three, he doesnt seem to acually finish much. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Like someone said above, It's OLD , a repost, and after 6 months, it still isn't HUGE.
- ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Sorry, did you have a better web 3D player in mind?
Hah. - evilpig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8http://www.rasterwerks.com/game/phosphor/beta1.asp
Oh the real link works now. - LRoy12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Anyone else getting the Direct X 7 error in Vista?
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8manually.
- tech42er, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Just so you all know, this is a quadrupe (or maybe a quitntupe)! Anyway, Phosphor really is a great FPS and I'm glad it's still on Digg so Diggers who haven't played it yet get a chance. Sadly, there is no shockwave on Linux. : (
- TheDrunkMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sadly, it is still Beta 1. Hopefully someday it will be finished, but I doubt it since it has been in beta for so long.
- wingedflurry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Those who don't think there is a multiplayer, thats not true. It is just a little complicated to find and took me a few tries to get right. Once you get into a server it's amazing.
For people who can't figure it out, here is a mini-tutorial.
-go into settings and hit network tab (if you are in game hit esc to get menu)
-Click on the "Network Mode" box and select server
-Now click refresh (right hand side down about in the middle)
-It should bring up a server(s) (after retrieving data)
-Click on one to choose it (the IP will now show up in "Client Connection" box)
-Hit the network tab once again and click client
-Now when you hit ok and go back to the main menu, click "Start" - J3R3MY, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9This game has amazing graphics for the incredibly fast loading time. This will be huge if it stays free.
- nyrol2, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11This wins an award for being posted on digg and making it to the front page the most amount of times. Hurray!
Search before you post. Holy *****. - Jinno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, this is atleast the 3rd time I've seen this on Digg. This one's probably going to get de-front-paged sometime in the near future.
Duplicate story D: - badken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, the number of vegetable comments on this article is astounding!
Why don't people dig down obvious plants? - Zachariacd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This has been around for something like a year now but I'm glad that somebody at digg has posted it again. Just look at the loading screen the latest build was 8/24/2006 at midnight, stil a good game though
- darklord5907, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Didn't know Shockwave could produce these kind of results. Very nice.
Oh yeah, and TxxIX, I'd like to see your do better. :) - 5m0k3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I saw this thing months ago and thought it was freakin uber! But then I lost the link and thought I'd never find the game again because I could not remember for the life of me what it was called. Thanks guys! You've made my day.
- Cyre, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8*****! If this thing goes online full and for free, it'll be the best thing on the internet since Onlive Traveller!!!
- BasouKazuma, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I've never seen this game up on digg before!
/sarcasm - pete10203, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2AMAZING.
- elastikos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow, that is an incredible achievement in Shockwave.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I did it a while ago, but I forgot how and i had to re-install firefox. How do I install the Shockwave plugin on Firefox 2? It says "Failed" whenever I just try to do it normally.
- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Anyone wanna setup a server to play on?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5holy cow. that was mind-boggling. it's like i loaded unreal tournament in my browser in about two minutes. this has the potential to be awesome. wow. i was getting 45 fps on a mid-level dell dimension 5150.
- dugon666, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3yeah i can't get shockwave downloaded on firefox 2.0
....Digg might as well get rid of its spell check feature though - wintermute0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer
- jackal27, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2yeah! set up a server!
- nyrol2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I am. It makes it extremely laggy.
- CherryTzors, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The gpx reminds me of UT (the first one)! Great Job Rasterwerks!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Don't digg him down. It's true. This keeps coming back to the front. Marked as LAME.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3hhhmm... that one word answer is almost TOO helpful.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1servers no seem to work. I've never been able to connect to a game in the years its been out. Yes my network's set up correctly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1VERY cool.. but where's the multiplayer? I must have missed it somewhere. I started playing and I was in a "server" full of bots.
- CeeJayDK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are the bots supposed to be able to take direct hits with the rocket launcher the sniper rifle ?
Because if not , then I think something is seriously wrong with this game. - PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Vista = beta
And that's not an anti-MS comment. I'm not using Leopard as my main OS because of its bugginess. - MinasNoble, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This may be one of the first few FPSs on the internet, but this in NOT one of the first few times this has been on Digg.
- mymate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cant wait to play in work :D
- turpenine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Yeah, it has been posted a lot. This is like the sapmiest site ever too.
- complxor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Awesome game any body up for some capture the flag?
- reevolutn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1uh it works on my firefox2
- RobotJesus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Old news. Really old news. Use the search function later.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1one of the first? What about that alien one that shockwave.com has had forever, what about the guy who has Quake3 running in browser?
Sure, the online MP is nice, but its hardly one of the first - wingedflurry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Note: You might be able to just leave the network mode on client the whole time but it sometimes screws up for me that way. (too late for edit)
- Valor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, I think they are, the accuracy seems a tad off as well... Maybe the Reticle isn't precise enough?
- voteforblank, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3SWEET!
- JarekB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0heh thanks for the info on how to join a game. only 2 servers up and I already got banned from one I think. guess they don't like getting pwnd.
- LustHog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Saying this link is old, is old, and so is complaining about people saying its old.
- MrSidnet, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Cool, I got to level 10!
- rileyjar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Bagunk asked the developer of the game a few months ago when the next release would be out. They posted his response:
